This was exactly what I was looking for. I love doing my own art but the struggle of using my nondominant hand is frustrating, so I was hoping for a solution and this is exactly what I was thinking. I’m glad it works and I appreciate your clear instructions to make it work properly.
This was the first video and first time seeing how I can do this without having to buy the mat. Very very helpful! You are an artist too! Thanks a bunch
Chelsea Muhle , I'm a bit late as I see your comment is 1yr old but this video just circulated last evening. I too love th as t she showed how you can do this w/o using a mat. That was cool when she put the paper inside the zip lock. The small things that are just mindblowing!
I totally do what you mentioned, watching a bunch of videos about that same thing! That's how I just found your video! Glad I did, you demonstrate a lot better than most! I'm a chronic nail biter and JUST recently was able to stop and I now have nails that are long enough to paint! This was awesome!
Aw thanks!! :D I'm glad my video was one of the ones to help you out!! :) Congrats on kicking the nail biting! I used to bite mine pretty badly as well
This is such a great idea! I've been trying to think of a way to make decals without buying one of those mats and your technique is perfect. Thank you for sharing!
I'm that person who likes to look at various ways to do a technique. Your video was very helpful and I am happy that you decided to share! Great instructions, very clear. Thx!
could you make these with acrylic paint and then use nail polish for the top coat? Also, if you're not good at art, you could print out designs to put in the bag.
First, don't ever question whether you should make a tutorial or not because I have watched about a hundred and yours is one of the best. Second, I can mail you some medical scissors and tweezers if you need them. :P They work really well on tiny things like this. Thanks for the video!!
FANTASTIC!! Thank you SOOO very much! You filled in the exact blanks I was looking to connect!!! Fantastic i can use both hands for both hands AND not have to hold still for 3 hours while they dry!! Right?🤔🧐🤓🤩💜💜💜
Thanks for this video. You DID give different and easier ways to make the decals. Using the nail art pens was wonderful for intricate designs - I hadn't thought of that and I have a lot of those pens.
I didn't know that this was a method to paint nails! Usually I would just try as hard as I could to paint a nail one color and then try to clean it up using a q-tip and polish remover. This is going to be so much easier, thanks for the tutorial
GREAT VIDEO!! I LOVED IT!! Can i ask you what clear polish you used on the ziplock? I must have bought the only kind that won't peel off of it. And I don't want to buy another one that won't peel off of a ziplock if possible. Lol
Just wanted u 2 know, I'm like u...I watch a bunch of different vids on the same subject...and this 1 on making your own nail decals is my favorite of all the diy decal vids. Can't wait 2 get home from camping 2 try it out!!!
Rae Michelle Bannon Bannon I'm glad I was able to introduce you to a new nail art technique! :D Thanks so much for checking out this(and many of my other) video(s)!
+Jujuba king Thank you! :D I did let these ones dry overnight. I'm sure it would work if you dried them with a hair drier. You just have to make sure the polish is totally dry before you try to peel it off.
It's just polish, so depending upon how long your manis usually last. With the right base and top coat for you, you can get a week of wear, easy. Just gotta find what works with your nails.
Yay, I'm glad I was able to teach you a new technique! Like PleasanceLiddle said, the combination of base coat/top coat you use makes a difference. I use a combo of Zoya's base coat with Seche Vite for the top coat (actually in this video I'm using Poshe because my local store was out of SV and I heard Poshe worked just as well). I normally get about 1 to 2 weeks of wear. That combo might not work for everyone though, I've heard of Seche Vite not working for people at all, but it works great for me and I can't live without it.
mind if I ask what brand the nail Polish pens are? they do a great job in the video and I'd like to try them. probably won't end up with magical flowers like you but I'd still like to try my hand at it.
+trashcankun I'm not sure, they might get too brittle if you let them dry too long, but I'm not sure because I used mine the same day I made them. I think I've heard of people keeping theirs for a week or so. I'll have to do a little test and see! I wish I could have been more helpful!
+chezlin thank you!! i tried it out but i used wax paper instead (you can get it from sticker packs) and it peeled off perfectly :D they only lasted for a few days if left on the wax paper, but it worked well!
+Anne-Sophie Oest Thank you! I think that after a while they might get too dry and become brittle, but I always use them right away so I'm not really sure, sorry!
Ohh WOW these decals are gorgeous, you are very talented !!! I am having a lot of difficulty with making decals :( mine won't come off of the freezer bag and I have no idea why not, if you have any tips for me I'd love to hear them :) tfs
Soooo I'm madddd late, 5 years late lol but if you still read messages underneath this video.... what kind of paint pens are those that you are using in this video? Thanks 😊
What brand of nail art pens are featured in this video and where can I purchase them? I just bought some crappy ones from Walgreens and I'm really disappointed in the quality. The fine line is not nearly as fine as the ones you are using and it "beads up" on both nails and zip lock baggies. So disappointing.
Amanda Watts I use a brand called Migi Nail Art Pens. I'm not sure where you can find them, as I got them as a gift, but I'll bet you can find them on Amazon! :)
I'm not sure exactly how long they'd last because I always use them as soon as I make them. I imagine they'd start to get too brittle after a week or so

Black Rose yes for the printing but you have to make sure you've scaled them down to fit your nails and I'm not sure about acrylic it should work
I think you did a wonderful job. I have a question: did you put clear on the bag before you started drawing your decals?
I tried it and it wouldn't come off the bag DDDDD: I think u do
I love the simplicity of using a piece of paper inside a zippie bag!
BTW, curved cuticle scissors work so well for fine trimming of these decals.
Wow can't believe you painted those flowers!! They are so pretty! Thanks for the tutorial! 💜👍🏼💕
+Laura S Thank you! You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it! :D
You did so well on those floral decals! Pretty!
First, don't ever question whether you should make a tutorial or not because I have watched about a hundred and yours is one of the best.
Second, I can mail you some medical scissors and tweezers if you need them. :P They work really well on tiny things like this.

I am like you, I look for many kinds. yours had the best technic and ideas! I will totally do this when I get my kit!!
+starsan Yay! :D I'd love to see how yours turn out! :)
Thanks for this video. You DID give different and easier ways to make the decals. Using the nail art pens was wonderful for intricate designs - I hadn't thought of that and I have a lot of those pens.
Julie Z You're welcome, thanks for checking it out! I'm glad to see my video was still helpful :D
I am just finding this video and am in love. But can you do this with Gel Polish or does it have to be just regular polish??
Amazing!! Yes I am one of those who enjoy watching new techniques so that I may diy!
I didn't know that this was a method to paint nails! Usually I would just try as hard as I could to paint a nail one color and then try to clean it up using a q-tip and polish remover. This is going to be so much easier, thanks for the tutorial
+Julia Capone You're welcome! :D
I have been looking for this exact tutorial and I"m glad you made this because I stumbled on here!
Can I use temperas, or acrylic that I use for my paintings on canvas? THANK YOU ❤❤❤
this is so awesome. it gives me the guts to try nail art for myself. thanks for this amazing technique
+SHERRY RHODES you're welcome!
GREAT VIDEO!! I LOVED IT!! Can i ask you what clear polish you used on the ziplock? I must have bought the only kind that won't peel off of it. And I don't want to buy another one that won't peel off of a ziplock if possible. Lol
This is so cool! Thanks for posting the whole thing from the beginning to end--Now I have to find the nail pens. Can't wait to try this!
+jen jen Thanks and you're welcome! :D
Great tutorial! really laid it out for an easy decal. Your work is beautiful :)
+Courtney Reed Thank you! :) I'm glad you liked it!

+Vanessa Charles Thank you so much :) And thanks for checking out my video :D
I've watched so many vids on nails.. And I have never seen this before. Thank you. (I watch vids like you also..pic and choose and make it mine!)
Rae Michelle Bannon Bannon I'm glad I was able to introduce you to a new nail art technique! :D Thanks so much for checking out this(and many of my other) video(s)!
this is so cute. I really like your patterns. do you allow yours to dry overnight? I was wondering if it would also work to dry with a hair dryer?
+Jujuba king Thank you! :D I did let these ones dry overnight. I'm sure it would work if you dried them with a hair drier. You just have to make sure the polish is totally dry before you try to peel it off.

Dang those are some fancy looking nail decals
mind if I ask what brand the nail Polish pens are? they do a great job in the video and I'd like to try them. probably won't end up with magical flowers like you but I'd still like to try my hand at it.
+Perla Rodriguez Thank you! They're Migi Nail Art Pens.
Awesomeness!! Thank you for replying. About to go Google my heart out on nail pens and art. Lol
Your designs came out beautiful.
this is cool! can you store the designs to use in the future or will they get ruined? if so, where can you store them? thanks!
+trashcankun I'm not sure, they might get too brittle if you let them dry too long, but I'm not sure because I used mine the same day I made them. I think I've heard of people keeping theirs for a week or so. I'll have to do a little test and see!

this was really cool, you're talented the only thing that I would have liked was to see how you drew the flowers slower and closer thanks
Thanks! Sorry about the camera angles! I'll try to do better next time I do a nail video :)
Great video. It's god to see how you can do it. But can you save them for later? Or do you have to use them after they have dried? :)
This is amazing. You are such a great artist. I have to try this. wish me luck!

+4Leaf Ivy You're welcome! :) Thanks for stopping by and checking my video out!
May I ask where you purchased the pens? I need those!!
+Kelsey Ford I actually received them as a gift, so I have no idea where they're from! My guess would be Amazon.com.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
+chezlin Thanks for replying anyway!
Girl that's good asf. I tried it and it worked but not as near talented as u
Aw thanks! It just takes some practice to get better at painting tiny like that :)
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I wander what 10 people in this world were the ones to dislike your video. ..
never seen nail pens work so well, what are they?
The brand is "Migi Nail" I believe. My mother in law gave me them for Christmas :)
Those are so good!!!
Thanks!
You're the coolest :) Your art is great!!
wow this is suuuper useful and well explained. Good job!!!! 😁😁😁👏👏👏
Thanks for the tutorial 😊
anyone know if i could just print someone and put a clear top coat over it ?
that was amazing, thank you so much for the lesson
omg this is beutiful and how you drew those omg this was awesome. Thankyou!!!
Aw, thanks!! Thanks for checking out my video :)
How did you get the outline of your nails on the paper? XP everytime I try it it's not the right size
+Mina Puig (Piug) I kind of eyeballed it. It doesn't matter that much if they're perfect because you can always trim off any excess :)
+chezlin okay, thanks 💕
wow
now i can try the complicated designs too
thanks a ton
I LOVE THIS GURLLLLL go girl!!!!
what type of colors are you using?
SUPER CUTE!
Does it work with gel nail polish
So beautiful! You make this look so easy...I know if I try this I'll just end up with random blobs of colour 😅.

where do you get the nail polish pens?
Great job!!!!
Beautiful!
How do you make it not crispy. Mine turned out so crispy I could barely manipulate it without it flacking.
I love it so beautiful.
