- In this video I show you how to use gel polish and a dual form to make a homemade gel nail decal . Just think of all the things you can paint . It sure makes it easier to paint things for your dominant hand ....instead of trying with struggles to paint with your non dominant hand . I realize it was a while ago, but might you remember how long the decal lasted during wear?
I'm a small business nail tech running out of my home. I'd like to plan some more elaborate designs for clients, I just only have so much time for them. thinking I could do some decals a day or 2 ahead of time would be SO helpful.

Hi Denise 👋🏼 I've been searching on YT for a demonstrated method of making gel nail wraps for months now! Maybe I'm not using the right key search words. Like the kind that are being sold everywhere online 🤔 I love the idea because it seems like it'd be a quick easy way to create an entire set of wraps, partially cured, place them on your own nails, do a full cure and go! I have so many gel polish colors already. It seems silly for me to go out and buy gel wraps. I love the demo you did in this video but I want to create a set of wraps that would adhere to the nails by way of curing rather than using nail glue. I hope my question made sense. Have you already created gel wraps that adhere by curing? I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for all the amazing content you create. OH my freakin goodness you never cease to amaze me with your incredible talent!!! I do have a question though. Why wouldn't you paint it on one of those silicone nail art mats? Is it because you used gel? Thanks for sharing you creative genius!!!
+twinslotaddicts Because you have to cure it in a lamp . In and out of a lamp constantly. Gel does not air dry . It also needs to have a some what of a natural curve to it like a real nail . When cured gel is like flexible plastic .
Added bonus, your decal curved to fit the nail perfectly without all that nasty wrinkling.

Hello Denise. This is so great, thank you for sharing! The onky thing I didn't understand is how you stick the decal to your nail. Is it with glue for foil transfer, gel glue or with base gel? Thank you again.
I think this one was gel base , but now I would use the Uv/led foil gel ( glue ) .

What did you use to get the decal to stick?
Hello. I'd love to make these ahead of time, even doing one stroke designs and storing them. Have you tried storing them(how long...) and would they need to stay on the dual forms? Ps, Could I do these on stiletto display tips? Thankyou kindly. ⚘💗💗
I have never made this head of time with gel polish . I’m thinking they may become brittle and dry out. You could always try it and see .
If you put these on regular tips , they may not release . That’s the reason I put these on the smooth dual forms .

How do you get it to stick to the nail? I did one and it just slides all over the place and won't lay flat.

Can you first massage nail oil onto the fake nail and then wipe it away so it stays a little bit oily? That would help peeling the sticker off, I think 😛 And of course, amazing as always, the idea of sticking the design on instead of painting with the left hand is so useful! ❤
+Kichigai ..... I'm using a dual form here so I don't need to do that . It peels off very easily on these forms . But if you are meaning , if you were to use a regular nail tip and do that ..... um , I would think it may cause the gel polish / paint to bead up and separate like oil and water does . I mean you can always try it on a regular tip and see .

do you have to use a no wipe top coat or can you use normal gel top coat? thanks Natalie
No wipes tend to be thinner ....which makes the decal thinner . You can always try a regular gel top coat that has the sticky layer and see how it works .

How long do u flash cure?
If you are drawing or painting , just a few seconds…. Up to 5 seconds

Not sure ...you can try it ...They are different material .
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed you inspired me!! Two coats unt peel off on a reg plastic tip and it peels right up. Wears well too

With clear gel top coat

About 5 seconds … and I have a lamp that a high wattage too
