I watch from the US and this was my first ever Eurovision. This year was the reason why I watch every single year now. I didnt even know what I was getting myself into and I will never forget this night. So inspiring. It would be a great dream to attend one of the shows some day.

Eurovision is getting to be trash year by year. Even Ukraine wins,who don't even have voice to me. I think Conchita deserved it. That was the last Eurovision i watched. The quality of the show is gone. 😑
At that time recently Russia invaded Crimea and stole it from Ukraine and also they passed an anti-lgbt propaganda in Russia. Because of those two things Russia was really hated.
This was the worst final in Eurovision in history in the way that the voting was conducted. The presenters were bluntly biased towards Austria, and the crowds reaction to Russia getting points was absolutely disgraceful. When Nordic countries vote for each other they all clap, but when eastern countries vote for Russia they all boo. Very disappointing

It was also amazing that Austria and the Netherlands, the eternal never-quite-theres of Eurovision, were fighting for the win. Actual excitement there, other than the faux-excitement that SVT implemented.
The only reason she won is that she was different, not because her song was better than what the Netherlands delivered with “calm after the storm”. Everyone knows because no one remembers what Conchita even sang that day.
So I’m come back here to watch Conchita’s reaction once again and actually noticed that Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Moldova give clearly neighbors votes (post-soviet bros)… And here I was thinking that the once who stuck to that was Cyprus/Greece Btw I’m Russian and I think it was one of our weakest entry (no hate to twins)

Ruth Lorenzo is a sweetheart, they announce Austria so vaguely most people didn't react fast. Plus she was the real winner of that year.
