Documentary on SILVER: Mining, History and Science

- Опубликовано: 10 июн 2024
- In this documentary on silver, we explore the science, mining methodology, history and future outlook on one of the world's oldest forms of money.
Silver has been used as a form of currency by humanity throughout civilization, stretching back to the rise, and eventual fall, of the Roman Empire. Although most people tend to think of silver as gold’s poor sibling, the stunning truth is that silver is the second most used resource on planet earth, with only king oil standing above it in the commodity hierarchy.
Silver plays a critical role in the construction of all kinds of infrastructure and is a key component in the generation of electricity. Suffice to say, without silver, we would live in a very different and probably less technologically advanced, world.
On today’s episode, we set out to learn the origins and applications of silver. From the techniques of the silver mining profession, to the multitude of products made with silver, to the history of the collapse of Rome, under the weight of government counterfeiting, as they turned their back on silver.

It's amazing how we base our lives around monopoly money when generations before us worked for actual silver and gold.
Agreed, it might take a while but I do think someday humanity returns to sounds money.
@@CommodityCulture it has to because all fiat eventually gets printed into oblivion and the cycle repeats itself
And it was work, calluses & dirty clothes to boot. Now it's a place for no skils and powder puff paid rest area.
@@CommodityCulture it will indeed

This channel is WAY underrated. Fantastic documentary!
Thank you sir, much appreciated.
Excellent presentation.
I’ve been a silver investor for a while now and this documentary made me even more bullish on silver. I loved this video. Thank you!
Thanks for watching and I am also very bullish on silver.
Anybody who uses the word "bullish" has silver or gold in there portfolio LOL
I love silver. Truly love it, and I am one of those few people who actually does not really care for the look of gold. But silver...that's the stuff there. The funny thing is it can be found in soooo many places that most people would never think of. I recovered a little over 1Kg of pure silver this summer all from scrap electronics I pulled from the garbage.. I literally produced silver from trash.
That's incredible, a kg of pure silver from scrap.. well done!
@@CommodityCulture Thanks. It was a LOT of work but well worth it to me. And I appreciate that you credited Sreetips as he is one of the reasons why I was able to recover what I did. Videos like yours and his really help round things out from both directions. Yours shows the WHY and his shows the HOW. 😁
That's a lot of silver!
How did you recover it?
@@Enjoymentboy Great, glad you find the content useful!
silver isnt consumed or produced.. it just exists..
" The thieves that govern us today'. Priceless quote , I loved it !!!
Thank you!
Keep on stackin'!!!
Love history! George Santayana is credited with the famous quote, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Yes we are!
Just look at our justice system, reinvented year after year. In the 1800s we didn't have gun violence, car theft, or delinquent teen criminal problems. No, we had laws and laws were enforced. Didn't matter if you were 12, or 21, or 86. If you stole someones ride (their lively hood, means of), that was death, public hanging, lynching what ever. Unless you were a real bad ass, you didn't do it. Laws were pretty simple and straight forward, you cause harm to others, we punish you a like amount. Nowthe cream puffs have over 50+ genders, sports without scores, eventually- equal wages for all, garbage man- rocket scientist- you get paid the same so no one has hurt feelings. You want feelings? I'll give your pampered ass some feelings! We'll always have criminals- that's a given. But, can the liberal, political, criminals have feelings BS? We had a criminal justice system that worked about as well as it could be done. Now, we ain't got shit, period. Spare the rod, spoil the child! Now we need a law -Spoiled child? - Punish the parents and there child.
So far best documentary on silver ive come across

Another big use of silver is in every switch that turns something on and off. By law it has to be silver contacts.
Yes excellent point, most people have no idea just how vital of a commodity silver is.
You dont hold it you dont own it. Interesting and well made video, you got another sub.

I REMEMBER IT WAS 1994 AND THE BIG BAIL OUT THAT INCLUDED INVESTMENTS IN MEXICO. I THINK IT WAS 4 BILLION DOLLARS . It's good to hear such a fine and objective presentation from the younger generation .This spells hope for the future. . well done .
Thank you very much I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very good - thanks!

An extremely apt quote prior to the French revolution. When plunder becomes a way of life for a small group in a society, then over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it. Am I dreaming, or do I hear someone dusting off and sharpening up madam Guillotine?
Very astute point and completely agree. Let's hope reckoning is coming for the rat political class.
Very well done, subscribed.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it!
This is an awesome educational and amazing video. Why only so few views. We gotta make this go viral. Amazing material. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, much appreciated! Hopefully it can go viral at some point.
Because they don’t want us to know so RUclips won’t suggest this video unless you search it yourself
Agreed, this is excellent
@@uchiha_abe yes, because SILVER is real money and it goes against the fiat that’s why the banksters always manipulate the spot price down.
Silver is the most under value asset on planet earth.

Are you kidding? This video is so politically biased it's ridiculous
Awesome video! Keep stacking, apes together strong
I’ve been collecting 1oz Australian kookaburra. Love ❤️ them
if priced correctly, silver should cost 250$ an ounce. people should buy it now before its too late
Back when we used film in cameras; I was in Jr. High School in Rockville MD. We took a trip to Kodak's move film processing center in town. I watched lab techs place hundreds of pounds of silver into a vat of nitric acid the first step in making film.
That's awesome, would have loved to see that!
Vastly INFORMATIVE thank you !
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
Great video!! Very well put together! This gave me even more reasons to keep stacking silver and gold!!
Silver is the most reflective metal on the planet think I’ll get some more today
Great idea!
Seriously alot of effort and quality. Glad I found this channel.
P.s. the ending with jpow and the transitory statement was spot on, here we are 10 months later.
I'm glad you found it as well! I think anyone paying attention knew that inflation wasn't "transitory".
nice
Awesome video
Thanks and welcome!
Never stop stacking ;D
Yes. Great presentation. The fall of the Roman empire is eerily similar to what is happening today.
Thank you and agreed.
They played the game, they earned the name.
At the continuing 2:48 juncture in the video it was mentioned that Silver has the best electrical and thermal conductivity, which seems to be debatable in context of applicable electrical conductivity of elements, as the traditional scientific wisdom claims Gold to be the best conductor of electricity amidst the known elements in context of applications in electronic circuits. Thus would suggest clarity in this iteration by the video author. I like this channel and find the content a good attempt at documenting introductory commodity knowledge.
Silver does have the best electrical conductivity, copper is second.
My grandpa grew up during the great depression, he taught me to keep 5% of my money in precious metals. I chose silver 🥈 because he stacked silver.
Sounds like a smart guy.
Nice

Great video . Government cartels says it all !!!
Thank you!
Subbed.
Thank you!
how do you get that silver is the second most used commodity in the world ?? isent it oil, coffe, gas, gold, wheat, cotton, corn, sugar then silver and copper ???
Silver has I believe over 1000 industrial uses because of it amazing properties. Just an unique wonderful element.
@@basiceconomicswithjosephju756 I know im all in on physical silver! but this dude is saying its the 2 most USED witch is a lie. Maybe on the amount of option trade and derivities market - remember LBMA is 250:1 and comex 850:1 traded on paper vs physical silver.
I'm talking about used as a resource. Coffee is just drank, along with the other agricultural commodities which are just consumed. Gold is a monetary metal, used wayyyy less than silver as a resource.
I have a nice silver coin collection going on. I save every piece I find.
Awesome, I love holding silver I have a little stash as well.
Don't forget it also good against VAMPIRES and WEREWOLVES.
SILVER is in my mind more valuable then GOLD because of its many uses. A lot of the precious metals are artificially kept down.
Do Platinum next 😀
Gold is next, but platinum is likely in the future!
This video is absolutely fab and brilliant! (If you don't already), you should be teaching in schools. This is so educational and entertaining. Regards Tony
Thanks Tony, really appreciate the kind words!
Great video mate... Its just so damn wrong what the gov does
Thank you and completely agree, the system needs to change.
Silver is rare than gold because it’s used up not recycled.
Need 4k
Where can I buy this kilo bars in the intro?
Although I can't direct you to those specific kilo bars, you should be able to find a bullion dealer in your area that can provide it.
Can I put a link to this video on my website?
Absolutely.
@@CommodityCulture Great! thank you. This is a great resource

What's Jimmy Fallon doing in Rome @ 11:33?
Any predictions on a price in the future. 2030 $ 50
I can't predict but I will only say, higher than it is now.
History and usage of silver! The process of mining silver is not easy it’s costly and labor extensive it’s also dangerous for miners working underground and silver at a spot price of $24/oz is so cheap. Silver price is rig to benefit the manipulators time will come silver will shine it’s true color.
Absolutely, reckoning is coming due to fundamental supply / demand!
Don't worry. Silver will skyrocket. It isn't a unlimited resource 1. 2 it is required for technology. Technology is constantly evolving & it NEEDS SILVER. 3 silver is being consumed. Depleted. Hold your silver my friend. Silver has been associated with WEALTH for thousands of years.
But, but, BUT...
"Facts don't matter!"
Corruption and feelings do!
!(: ALL THE SAME, GREAT VIDIEO ;)!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it!
Im a stacker and believe the time of the dollar is getting short...it will be hell
One thing is certain: NO ONE is leaving this world with their material possessions.
Scripture teaches us to "store up our treasures in heaven." And the context of that passage, isn't talking about material possessions.
Go Away please
So in October 20, 2022 the US Dollar is pretty strong and silver has lost about $10-$12 in value per ounce. Once the US dollar get to a weakened/devalued position willl the price of Silver rise again?
My opinion: Silver is going to $14 an ounce
That's difficult to say in our current economic environment but my inclination is to think the silver price would rise in that scenario.
Silver was pretty inflated the previous couple years due to a huge media and governmental collaboration in public fear. That wasn't a drop in price as much as a correction.
It was actually 1964 was the last year for 90% silver quarters, dimes, and half dollars and 1969 was the last year that 40% silver half dollars were minted and put into circulation for the general public to use and by 1965 for quarters and dimes and by 1971 half dollars and dollars were minted out of nothing but worthless pot metal. But it was a great documentary good work.
Thanks for clarifying and glad you enjoyed it!
I love both silver and gold. Silver is beautiful and while gold is better in every way except for the price silver is still very special im adding as much as i possible can to my stack!
Same here.
people, you just got to be willing to work, to pass the time
❤️👍
The Comex is being drained at an alarming rate. "Paper Silver" is being traded at around 250 to every 1 physical ounce.
