I took my Grandma to her first game, the first batter got a base hit and ran to first. Granny said why is he running, I said he hit a single. The next batter got walked and on his way to first Granny said, why isn't he running? I said he gets to walk because he got 4 balls ... and Granny jumped to her feet and yelled, "Walk proudly young man, walk proudly!"
im from the Bay Area but Id go to Atlanta every summer to see family. I used to go to braves games a bunch as a kid but then lost interest and got into the warriors for obvious reasons. this videos is reminding me how exciting baseball can be. thank you
Question for all the technical guys here: is there an official size for the basket of a glove?? I mean are you able to play with a larger glove than the other players??
It doesn't matter how large your glove is as long as it is anywhere from 11 inches to 12 and a half inches, infield positions usually play with smaller end gloves for better control of the ball in the glove and outfielders usually play with larger gloves for better coverage of the ball when it is caught. Of course catchers and first basemen gloves are different for their own reasons.
At 9:40 the Astros player is about to catch Martin as he goes over the fence. I always appreciate it when a player's first concern is another player's safety, even if they're on the other team.
@@richardgladstone8975 I think I may agree. As someone who played a lot of CF in my day, running with your back against the ball and timing that dive/pinpointing that location perfectly is just inhuman. I think there are other plays that show off athleticism more than that, but the intelligence and experience that go into a catch like this is unheard of.
@@andyreid7274 one brawl over trash talk is nothing to me in all honesty and I'm not even a reds fan. The guys just a great player and I respect what he does, and not just him but the Red's consistency with those double plays and over all stopping a play at 2nd in general, shows excellent training, coordination and execution
Brandon Phillips will never make the Hall of Fame. But he will make the Hall of Pretty Darned Great. If there had to be an "All Highlight Reel" Team, you'd have to list Kevin Pilar, Mike Trout, Omar Vizquel, Brandon Phillips, Manny Machado, and Yadier Molina.
Everyone else = 1 great play per video. Machado = 3 per... Brandon Phillips = 5x...no 6x...wait 7x...and counting...8x....nope 9x great plays per video = Because he's that good.
Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ!!
Brandon Phillips highlight reel.
Was gonna say the same thing. I had no idea Phillips was such a prolific fielder.
B Phil was the man for many years.
Well just proves he’s great at his job
This is why I love RUclips! I would have never known this guys talent only ever watching my Bravos play!
Yes
Let’s call this the Brandon Phillips and Manny Machado highlight reel. Great players.
Brandon Phillips was like a Globetrotter on the baseball diamond. He did something spectacular every night.
Brandon Phillips was the human highlight reel. Definitely a favorite player of mine
I gotta say Brandon Phillips is one of my favorite 2nd basemens and player

8:45 wasn't behind the back. It was between the legs.

I truly still think that over the back catch by Jim Edmonds is the best ever
Yep. Best play in baseball history.

Brandon Phillips really did the behind the back more than once
Some of these plays are just.....insane
Brandon Phillips HoF 2nd baseman for sure!
Dude's worked some pure magic
As a cards fan i hope he does. Guy had one issue, and Yadi escalted it. But Brandon was on par with Ozzie on defense and had a much better bat.
