    Between EX30, Aceman and Zeekr X, which one is the one if consider fun to drive, speakers, space, considerate on day to day use and so on, Aceman is front wheel drive is that mean less go kart experience compare to Volvo and it has no frunk even is build on EV platform, EX30 glass roof don't have cover like the MINI but it has my favourite yellow color OEM-ly, Zeekr has functional interior like the flip up rear chairs and moveable center screen!

    the Zeeker X is stripped of a lots of premium functions when coming to europe. Do you know exactly what special functions it comes with? I know the back seats can be folded up, and it has dog mode, but anything else? (the fridge, the recliner seat, and movable screen,automatic door openers has all been removed for the european version..)

      Hei. Overraskende vanskelig valg. Individuelt svært gode biler, men har noen favoritt elementer. Volvo vinner på Eksterior design. Spesiell Cross Country utgaven.

  • @benjaminsmith2287
    @benjaminsmith2287 Год назад +2

    No, Volvo is not VW. Next you may want to look at the EM90 compared to the Zeekr009. In this case, the Volvo is considerably more expensive and while Volvo just went and rebadged the Zeekr, it's Volvo that is more premium. Then there is the EX90 flagship which is higher in premium content to the Zeekr001. The Zeekr007 sedan compared to upcoming Volvo ES90? We'll see. But maybe the Zeekr007 is more comparable to the S60. Will there even be an ES60?
    I think Volvo wasn't trying to make a "premium" feeling entry-level car. They were going for sustainability, low carbon footprint and building it down to a price to bring in younger customers who want something that looks/feels like a Volvo. They were going to their Scandinavian design roots and building a Volvo, and I really like the EX30. This premium Zeekr is fine but it is more toward an XC40 size than the Volvo EX30 is. So, it's more comparable to that. We're getting platform sharing mixed up with market positioning. From what I can see right now, the EX30 is being praised by a lot of people and some even want to make it EV of the year.
    Geely is going brand crazy, introducing probably too many brands. In Europe, Zeekr may take away sales from Volvo and Polestar so Volvo and Polestar shouldn't rebrand Zeekrs often and keep up their internal work of writing their own software, building their own motors, and making sure they stick to their Scandinavian design look and feel while being leaders in safety in the industry Tesla may have gone beyond them now). They have to remain distinguished or the other Geely Group cars may take some of their market.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  Год назад

      This is just my opinion. I think Volvo appears as the VW in the Geely family. And that Zeekr will be the step above, Audi. I have experienced both Zeekr 001 and Volvo's EX90. Can't say that the EX90 feels more luxurious. More the opposite. In experienced luxury on the materials you interact with.
      Geely are definitely going crazy with all their brands, and can agree that platform sharing may be confusing. With that said the Zeekr X can totally compete with XC40 as well. When thinking about size.

    • @benjaminsmith2287
      @benjaminsmith2287 Год назад +2

      @@volvo_kristian The VW in the Geely family is Geely Auto. Lynk and Co. seems to be placed below Volvo as well. Volvo remains premium but in a Volvo way that is never the obvious luxury others are. I think that's good. However, the EM90 for the Chinese market is the Zeekr001 with Volvo materials on it rather than a home-grown Volvo design.

    • @volvo_kristian

      @@benjaminsmith2287Lync are for me equivalent to Skoda. So under VW.. The only thing that confuses me are Zeekr appears to be more premium than Volvo. That's why I'm comparing Volvo to VW and Zeekr to Audi. I'm a previous owner of several top spec'ed Volvo's, with XC90, XC60, S90, V60 and S60. So I'm very familiar with the inner 60/90 luxury hierarchy, and the EX90 doesn't appear to me to have the same luxury as the "outgoing" XC90. That's sad.

    • @benjaminsmith2287
      @benjaminsmith2287 Год назад +1

      @@volvo_kristian I think it is a matter of style. Zeekr is more designed to a different primary market, China. Volvo is still having its major market in Europe and sticking with their style. I haven't seen the lux EX90 (the one with Nordico, not wool interior) in person yet vs. the XC90 but will know more about it later. So, I'm not surprised Zeekr seems more luxurious. However, how they drive over time will determine more.

    Interior wise it definitely looks ahead of the Volvo. Although the exterior looks like a Lancia rear ended a Lync & Co. I feel like this is a trend we can see with a lot of Chinese (yes I'm generalising the Zeekr as Chinese) cars. Awesome interiors with funky exterior styling. BYD for example has some of the best (in my opinion) looking interiors. Volvo and Polestar went a bit too much on the "Scandinavian minimalism" train (Which just feels like Tesla-style with extra marketing and decent seats). I'm just hoping the EX30 is a one-off money maker and the ES90/60 are going to be a lot nicer. That being said the EX30 is probably still going to sell a lot better than the Zeekr, purely on brand identity

    • @volvo_kristian

      Thanks for that balanced comment. Can't do nothing else than agree. The EX30 will definitely outsell this Zeekr, based out of branding and familiarity. Loved your Lancia thoughts 🤣🤣 Pretty funky exterior indeed

      I prefer the Volvo inside and by quite a lot. I like the colors and fabrics and find them more unique and unexpected than what I see on Zeekr (though in some colors, the Zeekr's colors are unique). However, I haven't sat in both. In fact, I want to see Volvo continue the EX30 style in its larger cars, except up the material quality and of course make them more premium. I like the simplicity of Volvo design which looks grown up premium to me. The EX90 was a start to their sustainable lux. design language but I think the EX30 moved the bar. I don't like the one display but what I mean is the overall atmosphere/space of the EX30. The Zeekr, by comparison, looks like a smaller premium car, a different philosophy but offers features/details over rethought material and design approaches.

    Volvo have built to a budget with the EX30 ... the Zeekr is 20,000 Euros more in Europe and has no dealer support or sales in UK (yet) and certainly isn't on my available lease car list through work.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  Год назад +1

      Interesting reading, but not entirely correct. The Zeekr X are actually slightly less then equivalent EX30. At least if we compare the AWD long range versions. Both coming in at around 610.000 SEK. Swedish currency by the way. The starting price for the EX30 are much lower yes, but that's in a lesser interior equipment level, and also a smaller battery with shorter range. That's why this comparison are quite interesting.
      Regarding dealer support. Zeekr in Sweden will sell directly to customers. Similar as Polestar. Online. Then they have a service provider with the company called Mekonomen. They are spread around the country.

      Ok. The exterior are polarising, so won't argue on that, but the interior are the treat here. Much more luxurious than the minimalistic EX30.. So much that's missing in the EX30, but as long as you like it then nothing else matters. We are all different.
