Super cool, thanks for sharing that! I lived in Springfield, MO at one time and I remember visiting multiple times the site of the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, which was in that area, and the Civil War history in Missouri was very divided as you described. Coins tell such stories, many we will never know, glad this one came out though, and that you’re a part of it’s continued heritage!
@@SilverBoyBlues that’s awesome to hear! Yes, I went on a field trip to Wilson Creek when I was younger. I live in Springfield so that’s cool that you lived there at one time as well! Missouri was definitely a crazy place to live during the Civil War! It’s cool to see how coins and add to many historical events!
I would still get them graded even if they were cleaned. The reason why the slab protects the coin is that it also authenticates that the coin is real and not a counterfeit. It also makes them harder to lose and just helps preserve the coin.
@@williamfender661 thank you! Yes, Missouri is actually a very beautiful place. Southern Missouri has a lot of nice lakes and forest area to explore. It’s a great place to visit:)
Jadon Noble has a cool coin collection and has a keen eye picking out nice coins worth the money. He's a far out and happening coin collector and is out of sight for sharing his higher end coins passion with us on his RUclips channel.
Great piece of history, especially when you know your family was a part of it,I know many Confederates buried or hid their money for fear the union would confiscated it,what you have would be nice in a shadow box, keep up the great videos and have a blessed day!
@@mikesemones8333 thank you! Yes, it was definitely a crazy time during the civil war and I know Wilson Tilley was probably concerned about the Union taking his money. I wish he wasn’t a confederate sympathizer but I know at that time there was a heavy split in our country. It’s good to know a little history about my family even if it’s not the most positive history out there.
@@ulknatmelknatu that is incorrect. I only have 3 coins from the treasure that was dug up. There was estimated to have been at least 1000 coins dug up in 1962. Some say even thousands. That was quite a bit of money back then. That doesn’t include the gold that he had buried. He told his wife where the gold was fortunately.
