@@buildingAbiz thank you! Yes, it does seem like the MS 62 examples I have might be undergraded. That’s the great thing about buying lower mint state examples. You can sometimes get really nice looking coins for much less than Ms 63 and 64 examples:)
Enjoyed your sharing of cool purchases. I didn't come close dollar wise in my purchases. I did finally finish my Kennedy half collection. With all dates, mints, proofs clad and silver, finishs and enhanced types it totals 225 coins! I know, right? It's alot more than most would think. Took about 10 months. I keep them in 2x2 cardboard holders and 20 pocket pages. Makes a heavy binder for sure! Very stoked that it is complete.

Nice "gets" on all those coins, Jadon! You picked up some really sweet Morgans! PCGS was tougher on grading early on, so that might be why the '99 Morgan got a MS62 designation. The '87-S Morgan might follow along with that, but "S" minted Morgans tend to be graded tougher than the other mints. To me, the commemoratives and that Barber proof are the stars here. The toning on the Antietam coin makes the relief pop out even more on the coin. Simply stunning! Luv the Grant half too! I don't think I've ever seen a Barber look that sensational! Kudos to the Seated dollar as well! I was able to complete my collection of Peace dollars and get my Morgan collection down to the low teens of holes to fill. Now it's time for upgrading! Have great new year in collecting, Jadon!

They are tough to find for a reasonable price but if you look hard enough you should be able to find one. I miss make numismatics great again as well! He had a great RUclips channel. My favorite pick ups this year are a MS 63 1896-O morgan, a few different MS67 morgans, a GSA ms65 CC morgan, and a 1803 draped bust half dollar in VF25. The 2 coins I want to get is a draped bust dollar in VF-20 or better and a nice looking Fugio cent.

My favorite pickups this year are my Type 1 1913 Buffalo Nickel Proof and my 1950 Cameo Proof Franklin that completed my 1950 -1963 Cameo Proof Franklin Half Dollar set. Great coins! I would move the Antietam to #1. Incredible coin! The 1859-O SL$ would be my #2, and the proof Barber would be my #3. But, all of them are great! The 1870-CC SL$ is the one to add from the CC, since is was the first coinage produced at the CC Mint. Wishing you another great year in 2025!

I do like the Gettysburg and Antietem commems. My Gettysburgis ms64 as well. One of the guys has a coofie on his cheek. I have a nice ms62 trade dollar definitely blows away the Morgan and Peace designs in my opinion. Congrats on your pickups.

When i started collecting more seriously, one of the first things I wanted to do is to collect every denomination of coin the US has minted. I have tried to complete few sets like the Carson city Morgan set. I like to collect more rare coins that are unique and a little harder to acquire. This has made collecting more fun to me. This being said, I actually started collecting by coin roll hunting mostly half dollars. This was the cheapest and easiest to collect. As I collected more and more I realized I was getting a lot of the same stuff so I changed to collecting specific dates and designs of coins.
@jadonnoble5621 Thanks for sharing your story! I can see some parallels with how I got into the hobby as well, but I'm a bit further behind with my numismatics compared to bullion. One piece of advice I've heard is to be mindful that you're curating a collection, and not just a sporadic accumulation. Maybe that's held me back a bit, but I did start this year expanding my collection with my first two graded pre-33 pieces! I definitely need to think more about where I want to head with my collection.

I like having a variety. I think there is a happy medium so I hope you are able to find some other really nice denominations and designs to collect going forward.

When I think about my current philosophy to collecting, it's quality over quantity, so that doesn't necessarily preclude having a wide gamut of pieces in the collection of varying denominations. The thing at the very top of my wishlist right now would be a Charlotte Mint half eagle gold coin, but that's not in the budget right now haha! Something more my level that I would eventually like to own would be a 1921 high relief Peace dollar, but it would have to have nice eye appeal for me. Something else I've thought about getting would be an 1878-CC Morgan in a GSA holder! Seems like a fun piece to have :)
@ that’s a great way of collecting. I also try to collect quality coins over a high quantity. I would like to buy more older gold coins. I only have a couple so that would be a cool area to collect more in but they are expensive! lol
Recently, my father in law, gave me a coin, to do some research on. He believes it to be VERY valuable. Upon watching this video, I believe it to be a fake. The spacing between the letters, on the case, is identical to the spacing on the case, you are using as an example, as a scam. Im new to all of this, and found your video to be helpful! The coin I am researching is a 1916 D dime PCGS AU58. Would you be interested in taking a look at it? Im open to any help/info.
@@80SGIRL4EVR a 1916 d mercury dime that is AU 58 is definitely a very valuable coin. You said it is graded by PCGS? If you have another PCGS graded slab that you know is real I would compare it to that. I would see if the holder has the PCGS logo on the bottom right of the case. I’ve noticed most fakes don’t include this. I can include a video that will show a fake PCGS holder so you can compare.

@@80SGIRL4EVR that’s good to know. It’s probably fake then but PCGS should be able to verify it. You can also look up the certification number and see if it matches a 1916 d dime in AU 58. PCGS will tell you what coin should be in the holder. You can search “PCGS coin certification lookup” and it should pop up.
@@johnbeast4992 haha thank you. There are many affordable coins you can look out for. One of my favorite ways I used to collect when I started was coin roll hunting. You can find a bunch of really cool coins for face value. It takes a lot of time but it was a great way to start especially if you want to collect on a budget.

Yeah a 1798 small eagle would be great ❤ I would like an 1801 Heraldic eagle too since those 2 have the lowest survival rates.

Some really nice pick. I picked up a nice 1886-O Morgan in 61, 1883 Morgan Vam10 Sextuplet in 62 and 1880-O Morgan vam1-B MS64+ NGC Top pop.

Recently, my father in law, gave me a coin, to do some research on. He believes it to be VERY valuable. Upon watching this video, I believe it to be a fake. The spacing between the letters, on the case, is identical to the spacing on the case, you are using as an example, as a scam. Im new to all of this, and found your video to be helpful! The coin I am researching is a 1916 D dime PCGS AU58. Would you be interested in taking a look at it? Im open to any help/info.
@@80SGIRL4EVR a 1916 d mercury dime that is AU 58 is definitely a very valuable coin. You said it is graded by PCGS? If you have another PCGS graded slab that you know is real I would compare it to that. I would see if the holder has the PCGS logo on the bottom right of the case. I’ve noticed most fakes don’t include this. I can include a video that will show a fake PCGS holder so you can compare.

@@jadonnoble5621 OK so I do NOT see the logo on the bottom right of the case. I also do not have another PCGS case to compare it to. I have emailed PCGS company & they requested photos, which I have sent. Just waiting on a reply from them. I appreciate you taking the time to reply, as well.

@@80SGIRL4EVR that’s good to know. It’s probably fake then but PCGS should be able to verify it. You can also look up the certification number and see if it matches a 1916 d dime in AU 58. PCGS will tell you what coin should be in the holder. You can search “PCGS coin certification lookup” and it should pop up.

@@johnbeast4992 haha thank you. There are many affordable coins you can look out for. One of my favorite ways I used to collect when I started was coin roll hunting. You can find a bunch of really cool coins for face value. It takes a lot of time but it was a great way to start especially if you want to collect on a budget.
