The circuit board was bad. There was also corrosion on the ground studs/nuts that hold the board to the cluster. You have to sand the nuts and the washers really good. I actually put mine back together with the new board and it still didn't work. Sanded the nuts down now she's good to go.
Possibly. Check all your grounds. Block to body, body to frame, battery to block, battery to core support. There is a ground wire that is attached to your dash on the bottom left below the light switch. Make sure that is good. Or just attach a jumper from the metal on dash to the body and see if that works. Put a jumper from the housing of the temp sensor to the block too. Bad grounds do strange things.
Thank you very helpful
Excellent video. I think I fried my temp gauge with power probe when I was testing bulbs,,dang it.
What about the Tachometer wiring? any info on that?
very well explained congrats
Great video! Thanks for posting
Hello how I can set those gauges, in my 1973 firebird, because I don't know if it is different Thank you.😊
Thanks for this video, it’s very informative. My temp gauge isn’t working on my 76 T/A, it’s pegged out to the max.
Well presented.
I have exact problem of temp gauge not working. What did you figure out was the problem of the gauges not working, I may have same issue. Thank you

I will try that, I put in a new board as well, did not work, Studs/nuts don't look corroded, but it is worth a shot. Thank you for the information
I have a 79 Trans Am the tachometer goes backwards why what can I check on the tachometer
My temp gauge works until I turn on the headlights. And when I use directional signals it jumps up. Ground?🤔 79 Formula.
