    Great footage as usual. Loved seeing the ski and pods perform in this weather. Appreciate you not playing music over your voice and ski engine like other channels, also for including mistakes, missed and lost fish. Other channels seem to think viewers are all dumb only including the perfect moments, loud background music, vast amount of annoying aerial footage..... Keep doing what you're doing mate 👍

      Thanks Charles! The jury is out so far on if the Glowbite lures will increase the catch. I think it will, so I just need a better day out there to try them properly! The FXHO sure goes well in the rough. Never felt unsafe. Just a bit cold!

    So cool getting the take on camera

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад

      Yes the camera is on as much as I can to capture the hit on the lures or bait. I use to have extended batteries and external power systems to keep them on, but pretty much all GoPro cameras overheat if left running for too long. So I’ve gone back to running batteries. If not moving or nothing is happening, I’ll switch it off for a bit while repositioning. The move cools them down just enough. It’s one of the design flaws of these compact action cameras. Be interesting to see the reports of people using the new Volta . I think the cameras will overheat as I’ve done a lot of testing trying to get one to stay running for a few hours. I’ve never tried it on “hindsight” because i think it will die as quickly because it’s recording to cache at all times….

    Loving your videos Paul. You nearly have me convinced on selling the boat and getting a JetSki now. I’m going to the Melbourne boat show in a couple of weeks. Will definitely price one up. What speeds are you trolling the lures. Looks really quick in the footage. Subscribed

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад +4

      Hehe it’s very addictive! Trolling shallow body lures normally around 8 knots which is around the 15kmhr. I tend to go to the threshold of them holding in and not popping out. Good luck at the Boat Show! And thanks for subscribing!

    Love the inspirational videos & we all lose a few off the ski from time to time, bad weather is no fun,..
    Noticed you have upgraded your Garmin, 7 or 9 inch? & you never seem to talk about your Garmin..
    Keep up the fun informative videos
    Thanks..

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад

      Thanks Stephen. I moved to the Garmin 95UHD to get a better screen real estate plus work a little better in deeper water since we are normally fishing 40m plus. I’m no expert in sounders but I’ve been quite happy with the unit and they are all pretty good these days . I do seem to see the fish better than my buddies! Let me know if you have any questions and I might be able to cover in future videos. Thanks for chiming into the conversation. It’s great to hear people get inspired. Btw I’m a bit less concerned landing tuna and probably being a little too chilled on the lost ones! I’ve been catching more fish than I need so have been releasing a few, but a bit annoyed with that one that snapped my trolling lure off! 😡

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад +1

      Hi Donni, yeah, it's always a bit of a balance between too much video and people getting bored and moving on to the next videos! The Gopro also doesn't do it justice as the super-wide lens flattens it out in the video, so it doesn't look as rough or the waves as big as it is in real life. Thanks for commenting and watching the video right through.

    Do the 2 side podsski held add more stable to the ski?? It dose add more weight. How you compare with and without? Really consider get one. If it make even more stable

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  Год назад

      Yes adds heaps of stability. Plus makes it safer as the rear access to the pwc is clear of obstructions like a cooler box. . It adds weight of course but less than half as much as adding another passenger. Once you e had these pods (they’re called “Tubbies”) it’s hard to go without them. They turn your pwc into a serious offshore fishing machine!

    Good video yet again. U looked like u were going fast. How fast do u troll the lures? Keep the videos coming i love watching them

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад +3

      Thanks James. Lots of people asking what the speed! It was 7-8 knots definately as I noted it a few times as it seemed fast to me too! But the wind was blowing reasonably hard making the swell run fast, so it wasn't quite as quick as it looked! But with these 2M diving Halco lures, I try to go as fast as they can troll before they blow out. So you need a good trolling rig to hold the rod (forget plastic holders as they won't stand up to it) and good drag that isn't sticky. You need a lot of drag to stop the line spooling off when riding at speed, but you want it smooth enough so when a fish does hit it hard it's not going to stick and snap the line and lose the lure. In one of my past videos I had a snap off (ruclips.net/video/CZTg3nWIFi0/видео.html ) on my second trolling rig, which has a lever drag which is hard to get right. It's a fine line between holding the lure and too tight to snap the 50lb leader. I just find that these shalow diving lures seem more attractive to the pelagic fish. I think they see a fleeing fish and take it as a challenge to get it!

      @@Jetcast cheers mate, fairly similar speeds to what I troll, just looked heaps quicker in the vid. You guys did well out there - looked like it got worse as the day rolled on.

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  2 года назад +1

      @@AdvHQ Thanks mate. There were rain squalls on and off all day. A bunch of cloud would roll in and the wind would pick up 15-20 and then drop off to 10-15 in between. BTW the troll looked faster because of all the chop and swell rolling in on the nose! I made a note of the trolling speed because I had been asked before, and also remembered because in smoother conditions I have been able to get the speed slightly higher than I could that day. You can see from most of the video the tuna were continually hitting the lures! I've never had them so active.
