What a great video Dominic. Loved seeing the trains going over the bridge. You did well to endure the cold weather . .I know that feeling .. especially down near Taradale in that valley.
Thanks a lot Richard. I was very lucky with the trains and lenses not fogging up. The hood on the 35mm GM did such a good job at keeping the fog off. I was also doing a time-lapse with the 16mm Viltrox that night and it was fogged out in the first hour.
That intro scene alone with the trains, car lights and timing with the music was worth it alone to watch your video! What a nice adventure and stunning end results also. Didn't know freezing was even possible down under btw! 😉
Haha, thanks very much 😁! Doesn't happen too often, we get maybe half a dozen nights or so a year under 0c. Always going to be when there are clear skies of course 🥶!
Great video Domenic, loved the trains and your final image is stunning 😍. Love the benro 3-way geared head. I now know how many turns off the knob I need to get 30 degrees off overlap on each of my focal lengths 😂. Curious how you created the sped up timelapses of yourself. I've seen John Rutter do this too. Are these very short exposure timelapses or have you sped up the video?
Thanks Greg 🙂👍. Sounds like your Benro head is well worn in 😂. It is a great bit of kit. Not sure what John is using, but I'm using the 1fps mode in S&Q on my Sony a7s III. Sometimes I'll speed it up in post too, really just depends on what is happening in the scene.
@@AstroRoad Had to Google S&Q (I'm a Nikon shooter 😊). I'll explore that further with the Nikon timelapse mode - it's a great way to present an activity like capturing a pano where there isn't a lot of action.
Fantastic images, but the opening scene with the train was a awesome 👌👍👍
Thanks so much 😊👍! I really did get lucky with the timing there, had no idea the second train was even there.

Last winter here in Canada I was out one night taking photos in -10c. Wasn't fun so glad the image turned out really well.
Wow, -10c is a solid nope from me 😂. It was showing 0c when I got in my car, even at that temperature the cold seems to get right into your bones.

Great video quality at night, what camera did you use to shoot it?
Thanks! Using a Sony a7s III here, but also use a Sony a7s II.
@@AstroRoad fantastic quality both in your panorama and in your video
Glad you like it 🙂👍
