That was not a proper driveway oil change. You should know that it's mandatory to drop the drain plug into the catch tray at all times! 😂
Drip tray, very posh🤗
I still use a basin from the euro shop. I paint the shed with old engine oil and it's as good as new 20years later.
Also, the first glug of oil should always catch the cuff of your fleece!
(Edited for typong error)
Are you now the oil police
DOnt worry, Ill pour the lot over the drive when I try to bottle it for the tip run
@@furiousdriving it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it!
Great series! Really liking the Rover, that’s an excellent example you have there 👌🏻👍🏻
Hi Great video....FYI there is another drain plug that blocks just in front of the cabin filter housing that I recommend you check is clear as that one will kill the ECU if not draining properly
you do know that GSF ALWAYS have a 65% off sale?
You can't ever consider letting this car go. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling watching you maintain and polish this car.
You would be mad to chop this in Matt.
On the trading up series, as with most viewers I suspect, this is the best car you had so far. It was already beautiful to start with and with every video it turns out even nicer. Should you still decide to sell it, it will take a heart of stone I think - it's mint! Rover seems to be your lucky car brand - your 200 VI is another Rover of yours to make one envious.
Love to see a V8 SD1 on the channel…
First thing to do on any car is a service so she will run lovely now. The new steering wheel looks stunning.
Both make a big difference to a car
The rover looks great and is far too good to move on. You have to keep it!!!!!😁
Another great video of cleaning, Buffing and servicing Matt!. For £1,500 surely this luxury is a keeper? The previous owner loved it and the wedge of paperwork proves that….
This definitely needs to stay and kick the Volvo out of the fleet… one light metallic blue luxury 4-door saloon for another. Volvo deserves to go to an enthusiast to complete and enjoy.
BOTH front bumpers, Matt?
Edit: 10:00 - what a wonderful imp face on that crossmember. It’s even having a laugh.
And poking it tongue out 👍😊
Yes, it used to be the famous double ended 75
Keep the 75 and sell the Rover with the bad paint work, and start the flips again.
You are a Rover guy, keep it and enjoy it.
Looks like you are about to keep this car then, and ‘break’ your rules! - it was noticeable that you referred to “The next time WE change the oil” which does rather imply extended ownership. I think you will enjoy a car that appears to be in generally very acceptable condition. Your enthusiasm for this Rover is showing through.
Many years ago, I recall watching a late night documentary about the production of earlier 600 series Rovers and being very impressed by the stringent rust proofing, dipping and paint processes. A pal had a turbo diesel one for years but has just part exchanged it for a cheap to tax but rather soulless Kia. I hope you decide to hang on to this classy car.
My dad had a 600 diesel. I recall it was quick! Lovely car and nice cabin size. Wish it was at in my drive now!
If ever there was a keeper it's your nice 75. The K-Series 1.8 Turbo an additional bonus. Nice place to be and drive for what £1500 plus a few quid for other stuff. Quality motoring at very low cost.
My 1.8Ts have a K&N direct replacement Air Filter. Good investment for the longer term keeper in any car. Most of the family's cars have them. Had on in my MG Montego turbo for over twenty years.
Can recommend 0.70mm spark plug gaps in K-Series and MG6 engines. Better throttle response, starting in all weathers maybe better fuel consumption figures too although not checked that..
Unfortunately, that steering wheel is the wrong colour! Rover rather vexingly used two different shades of light plastic and leather for the interiors of the 75. That car has the same off-white/grey that mine does, but the wheel you bought is for a car with cream trim! There are also different kinds of wood for the inserts on the wheel, there is one available that matches the wood on the dash.
There were no others to be found. Ione day I might find the darker one
amazing job! quite a lot of the higher spec ones came to Australia ... they still look so good today
Did they have v8s ?????
@@matthewc.419 I'm not sure ... but there were no 1.8 litre more budget looking ones available in the UK, they all had leather seats, sunroof etc. they were marketed as luxury cars
This has to be one of the nicest 75s out there. I love it! I’m going to side with those who are saying, “Keep it!” You have a real gem in this one.
What do we have to do to get you to keep this ??? There are some of us who have owned 1 or 2 of these and never had one as nice as this one . I rest my case Later 😂
These cars looked striking when they came out and still do now. Timeless design.
I agree. As with Jaguar models, the Rover 75 pays respect to earlier designs, such as the Rover P4. The interior is especially retro with the wood veneers and the dash. A truly lovely car for the well-to-do (but not-ostentatiously-so) respectable businessman to be seen in at the golf club.
Shame they never made the coupe version. They made one concept coupe but never took it to production. Why didn't they make the coupe and a cabriolet version.
Clay bar, clay bar!
I wanna take you to a clay bar!
You know it’s staying on the fleet 😂😂
Sell the Alfa and keep this mate 😊
Don't flip it. Sell something else.
Very nice. I can understand why you would want to keep it. Tricky.
Beware of some of these supposed discounts - when you compare with other motor factors the claimed full retail prices are way high, ie the discounts are faked.
She's got to be a keeper Mat, beautiful car, but i am biased owning a Mg zt 1.8 turbo.😅
As many will agree Matt keep hold of the 75 for a while it's a nice clean example
I think we all know you're keeping this one. Question is, what will go?
She looks beautiful again. All your very hard work, has definitely paid off. I'm sure she will get many admiring glances. 😁
My steering wheel was grotty too matt, the wood wheel makes a big difference to the interior and feels more special too. My paintwork is shot and I was quoted £1000 to fix it. I need to do a service myself soon and I quite enjoy doing it.
My plastic scuttle broke too, they are very prone to doing so but I have a spare to put on this year.
Excellent results Matt, looks incredible. I would go the whole hog and change the doorcards and seats for leather. The Wedgwood blue looks fantastic polished up.
Honestly the cloth is growing on me, its so comfortable
@@furiousdriving with you on the cloth. I’ve considered swapping it out for leather in my V6 2.5 manual Tourer Club SE. But it’s so comfortable and didn’t need heating in the winter. I did put in a wood steering wheel though and will will be putting in a real wood pre-project drive dash in.
Sounds like you really like that 75 and I would say keep it and bump a couple of others of the fleet to make it up to the cash you would sell it for and then onto your next flip
Too bad the wood trim on the steering wheel doesn't match with the rest.
Excellent video Matt. I think you should definitely keep the car!
Lovely job rover is looking good 🚗🚙🚘⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Surely this must be a keeper, it’s a cracking example of the 75.
Did you get an oily fingerprint on the lens part of the way through? The picture went a bit fuzzy.😂
Love that car. Are we trying to work out how to justify keeping it to Mrs Furious?
That'll teach me to comment before watching the video all the way through. 😅
I think it was exactly that! Oil change and filming dont mix!
Looking great FD! The older I get the more I appreciate the 75. What I'd give to see something like this back on the roads - this SUV craze has killed all ingenuity in car design.
Keep it! Keep it! Keep it! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀😀😀
Sweet result, Matt. She is a beauty, and looking better by the day. That colour polished up a treat. You may even have a front wheel drive car I could grow to love. Fantastic.😊
That's becoming very very Tempting & it would fit nicely between the MGF & the XJ Sovereign. 😊
No ! Really.
Great job. Beautiful car. Must surely be a keeper Matt?
This is my job for today as the sun is out. Great vid as always Matt and it’s looking stunning. Always been a fan of these bad boys ❤🎉🎉Well done
Not a bad job when the suns out!
Nice tip Matt but I always take my teeth out before tackling any steering wheel 😁 but yeah huge improvement to the aesthetics of the cabin. Can you take my booking for a Valet a week on Friday 😁, my car needs a good polishing, you looked very professional bro 😎 and such a satisfying job for you to do 😉👌🏻.
Great stuff, you could really see the shine of that beautiful paintwork after your hard work. The wheel really sets off the interior now replacing the worn one. All a reminder of the disgrace that Rover was allowed to die :-(
Matt you can’t let that 75 go it’s beautiful and with such provenance too it’s really come up lovely one that deserves to stay
That steering wheel really looks great and makes such a difference. It looked so easy to do too. Are all car steering wheels that easy to change?
The 75 looks great. Definitely keep it.
This 75 looks great. When are you ever going to find another 1.8T like this? I'd move the Volvo on and keep this.
Just a lovely classy car shame not still made today
Ah a black P6 door I can smell a P6 part a mile away LOL
Your maybe going to make a profit on this one Matt 😂 I’m sure a 75 fan will pay a pretty penny for it…
Wonderful work she is a very nice car greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great Video, the rover looks fantastic and like new, I remember looking at the 75 with my dad in showrooms when it was launched, I always liked them and the MG ZT.
I particularly enjoyed the servicing part and the fact you kept the dropped bolt bit in 😂.
Happy Easter Matt…. Enjoyable video as always :)
This one would stay in my garage if I was you! Stunning car, love the new wheel. Great job on the detail and service, stunning car.
That wood walnut dash looks fabulous at night, keep it!! I would, thats going to be a national treasure in years to come.if you dont, you will regret it!!✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Keeper for sure. Sack the Volvo instead!
Lovely job!
Rover had these just right.
You know you have to keep this one, Matt!
Happy Easter from Wirral.
Love the 75... any updates on the 4.6 P6 🤔
Thanks for the tip about the mirrors. Had exactly the same problem with mine (windows worked but mirrors didn’t adjust)
Unfortunately mine are powerfold so the switch gear cost about twice what yours would have
It's a waste of money to resuscitate the Rover 75 1.8 and 1.8 turbo. The very problems with these engines, settling cylinder liners, engine cooling problems, poorly constructed head gasket make sense. I know because I have several such cars but none with a 1.8 engine because they are scrap.
Hi I have a 75 V6 2.5 2003 which I love... can you provide a list of items required for the polishing please?
I fitted wood wheels to both ,y 75s, look nice, but rubbish grip, and kin cold in winter. Absolutely no need to disconnect battery when disconnecting airbags. Surprised you were able to get it sent in he post, they are usually hysterical about no sending "dangerous" goods.
This Rover is looking amazing now, the steering wheel really lifts the interior, and the paintwork looks awesome, well done Matt, the only problem is, every improvement makes this car harder to part with lol 😂.
Get the feeling your keeping it it is clean and tidy for year
A k &n air filter would transform the engine
No it wouldn’t don’t talk nonsense 🤣
B.L like all other industries should be brought back , its very sad very shocking what has been done to this once proud country , its peoples, its industry's and its culture
B.L ,austin were world class leaders in automotive design 🤷🏼♂️🤔
Oh ......as was our coal , steel .....etc etc
Cats will slide off easier now.😅
They better not be walking on it!
@@furiousdriving 😅😀😄
65% sale discout on car parts? :O
We get 20% maximum, and items like oil and tyres are not included. -_-
Having to remove the wiper arm just to change the cabin filter is such a design fail.
Maybe would be better to use fixed focus on the camera?
Sort out that lousy camera focus, otherwise video magic✌️✌️✌️✌️
The Rover 75 is looking good and the wooden sreering wheel a great improvement for the interior very nice
Great video 👍lovely car ❤️ i used to own a 1.8turbo zt engine was a peach 👌
Great Video. That new steering wheel has made such a huge difference to the car.
My neighbour has a V8 75 .. sadly it was in an accident and sits sadly on his drive with a front corner missing.
How does it ride compared to your mercedes?
When my dad had his, I'd had an operation on my pilonidal sinus (so my butt was tender). This was a lovely lovely riding car.
Much softer, and so are the seats! But also alot slower
All your cars with wrong side steeringweel))). Like every your video
Colin here. Hope the car is running much much better! See you at POL!
Running a dream, had a good blast through the countryside and back on the motorway yesterday and it is a delight!
I had a slight scheduling error - thought POL was the weekend after so have something else booked..
Love your content mate, keep them coming 👌🏽👌🏽
Keep up the good work. Rover is looking great 👍
Video is fuzzy, out of focus, thought it was my eyes. About half way through.
Looks great! In the future, I would likely skip the heavy red cutting pad. Use the cutting compound with the yellow and then go to finishing with the black pad. I typically save the red pad for really rough paint. It will always make it less likely to do any damage...learned that the hard way. Keep up the great work on the channel!!
That 1.8 was crap for the 75 iv that engine in a zs it was perfect for that car
Decent with the turbo
@@furiousdriving heavy on fuel do the 1.8 turbo in a zs would be a great option
asking where was the air bag in steering wheel that u fitted back in place as from the vid don't see one?
And then it rained .🤣 Sorry that's usually what happens to me .
Keep the Rover and continue the trading up series by using the volvo.
Can you get the 75 on classic insurance and if so who with?
I got mine with Lancaster
I fitted a newer version steering wheel too, but added the earlier centre disc from a 45 so has the earlier logo
Getting the funny feeling something other than this will be leaving for the next car to be had
Always check the plenium drains or it will fill with water and drown the ecu
Always loved the 75, this colour is gorgeous... I will keep it honestly (but is not what the flip program is meant for)🤣
I have a tourer in this colour its a great car .
Looks like that 75 has found its forever home with Matt.
Loved my 75, had the head gasket go but once replaced was flawless, t piece leaked but was an easy fix. One thing to watch for is the in tank fuel pump / filter separates resulting in a no start you can get a clip that stops it happening again. Word of warning the wooden steering wheel is hell in the summer along with the wooden gear stick knob. Fuel filter is apparently meant to last the life of the car.
Like metal gear knobs, invent in a small towel! Good to know about the fuel filter, although they expect the car to only last about 10 years!
Keep this get rid of the Mercedes c class and buy that fiesta van.
Nice video Matt, that’s a good tip about the spark plug gap, I didn’t know that these was so particular. Shame about the oil smudge on the camera lens, I had to scrap a whole video recently due to the sound towards the end of the video 😢 at least your footage was recoverable. I do love these tinkering videos. Cheers.
I need to hire a camera person! (or a mechanic..)
@@furiousdriving 😂😂 definitely not a mechanic, that will take all the enjoyment out of the hobby.
I thought my eyesight was going😅
Is the wood on the wheel different to the rest of the wood? 🤷🏻♂️
Ahh the best type of steering wheel. Fantastic!
This one is definitely a keeper Matt, there is a huge following for these Rover's now.
Please keep this one. Its lovely.
