I love it when Rahdo tanks.
"uh, hmm. oooooh?"
The benevolent landlord note appearance was excellent 😁
Boy, this game looks fun. I've not been hugely impressed with other reviews, which made the gameplay seem very complicated (even if their opinions were favourable). But this runthrough makes the gameplay seem a lot more accessible than I'd thought it was. Good job, Rahdo!
Woohoo!!! Chickens and Beagles and a roof over our heads! All hail Jen! ;)
Yes, Everyone should have a Chicken cup!!
At 16:40 Jen could have taken the worker card (spending 7), then use the event to sell one Spyrium and get 3 £ and then take the second card (spending 5).
that... would have been a wise move! :)
Great video - quick note though (just refreshed to double check as well) - there are no annotations for jumping to those next videos (easy enough to find without them, just thought I would mention) ;)
d'oh! totally forgot!!! on it now :)
Fantastic game mechanic.
Chicken Cup @ 0:04 Woo hoo!
@ 18:56 if Jen pulled off one of the 2 guys that were together (and still received 2 income from the card on right), then she could have purchased the buildings in the opposite order and not pay an additional £1 for either card !
aaargh! now you tell me! :)
i KNEW there had to be a way to do it... I could feel it!!
19:00 when jen pulled her first worker -> shouldn't she have pulled one of the workers that was paired? She could have still gotten 2, then her next pull would have been the middle one, then pulled the one remaining at the top of the right-center card to build that one. Overall, she would have saved 1
smart moves, to be sure :)
Everyone should have a chicken cup.
why do the next tier decks have to be kept separate, cant you just make 1 deck?
Seems an extremely stressful point salad. Why would this be fun?
extremely stressful point salad sounds fun to me! :)
Curious why you chose to get 3 points with one spyrium instead of using the event to get 6 pounds and then buying the mine? I imagine free spyrium every turn + 1 more pound is worth more than 3 points...
mostly i went with that because i was trying to demonstrate everything, including visiting people :)
i often make moves based on demonstrating features over smart tactics.
though often, I'm just a dummy and don't see the better moves :)
7:10 Effects that give random victory points is in my top 10 worse mechanics in board games. When I see it in worker placement games is even worse. Not adding the names on the cards is also unacceptable.
Now to the things I like. The option to choose between 2 actions when you pull a worker is great. Also the penalty/bonus based on other meeples adjacent to a card makes the game more strategic.
you never randomly get VP from collecting cards. the VP on offer is clearly stated up front. this a weird fusion between worker placement and auction, and so having cards of variable value in an auction game makes perfect sense. in one game, the guy might be work 1, in another game he might be worth 3, and you bid (with your workers, sort of) accordingly :)
*****
I stand corrected. This is much, much better.
"Dollars"
You should breath...
You are just talking way to fast, stopping for a little bit to swallow some spit and then just bable away some more. Slow down, talk in a normal pace and everything will be much more pleasant for the listener.
Maybe you are just listening too slow
