You say you are a Jew of Hashem yet you Rabbi dud not understand the conditions set by Ezekiel 18 did he. As for the issue of the prodigal son what was his lowest point feeding pigs and what are they seen as unclean. What you Rabbi mock the issue of the Ransum what was happening to the Messiah people for dud he not say the Princes of the Gentiles have dominion over them and what was their symbols like what was wrote in 1 Maccabees and Josephus. How was this linked to Isaiah 65:4 and 66:3 and then the issue of the legions? What did the city folk asked please leave and why? What was the value of the man full of devils to them? Why did the demons ask to go into the pigs and why did the pigs rather death then live and cast themselves in to the water or sea.

Antiochus IV (Epiphanes), the king of Syria, captured Jerusalem in 167 BC and desecrated the Temple by offering the sacrifice of a pig on an altar to Zeus (the Abomination of Desolation). In seeking to prohibit Judaism and Hellenize the Jews, Antiochus forbade their religious practices and commanded that copies of the Law be burned, all of which is related by Josephus in the Antiquities of the Jews (XII.5.4).
      Isaiah 66:3
      King James Version
3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
      Isaiah 65:3-4
      King James Version
      3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
      4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
      Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man(A)(B)
5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat,(C) a man with an impure spirit(D) came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me,(E) Jesus, Son of the Most High God?(F) In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,”(G) he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
14 Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion(H) of demons,(I) sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man-and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
      Installation of Gentile Cults
41 Then the king wrote to his whole kingdom that all should be one people 42 and that all should give up their particular customs. All the nations accepted the command of the king.(X) 43 Many even from Israel gladly adopted his religion; they sacrificed to idols and profaned the Sabbath. 44 And the king sent letters by messengers to Jerusalem and the towns of Judah; he directed them to follow customs strange to the land, 45 to forbid burnt offerings and sacrifices and drink offerings in the sanctuary, to profane Sabbaths and festivals,(Y) 46 to defile the sanctuary and the holy ones, 47 to build altars and sacred precincts and shrines for idols, to sacrifice pigs and other unclean animals,(Z) 48 and to leave their sons uncircumcised. They were to make themselves abominable by everything unclean and profane 49 so that they would forget the law and change all the ordinances. 50 He added,[c] “And whoever does not obey the command of the king shall die.”(AA)

@@thelordwillprovide911 The Moshiach of the Bible is a mortal man who Gd will use as an instrument of His Will just as He used Moses, just as He used David the Moshiach's forefather, as Isaiah tells he comes at the End of the Days, not before it, his teachings of Gd and His Holy Torah will transform the World to a UTOPIA WHERE ALL OF MANKIND RIGHTFULLY WORSHIPS THE CREATOR AND HIM ALONE AND WHERE PEACE REIGNS AND WAR IS NO MORE, but Jesus' false teachings brought to Mankind MORE PAGAN IDOLATRY of himself, a trio of false deities, his own mother, other dead people, Angels, Paintings, Statues of Wood and Stone, a dirty painted sheet, crackers and wooden sticks, all of which are ABOMINATIONS TO THE CREATOR!

@@noorjahan1333 No corruption in the quran? Please look everything I am about to say up for yourself. 95% of the world uses the Hafs version of the quran, however 3% use the Warsh version of the Quran (muslims in algeria, morroco, parts of Tunisia, west africa and Sudan), 3% sounds small, but out of 1.7 billion muslims, thats a large number, and since the Hafs version is read by 95% of the muslim world, while 3% reads the Warsh, the following comparisons effect 98% of the Muslim world. The Quran claims in Surah 15:9 "Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (the quran) and surely, We will gaurd if (from corruption)." and the footnote on the bottom says "It is a clear fact that more than 1400 years have elapsed and not a *SINGLE WORD* of this quran has been changed'. #1 Quran 2:140 "or do THEY SAY that abraham ishmael isaac jacob and the tribes were jews or christians?..." In the Warsh Quran it says "They say" but in the Hafs it's "You say", and the Arabic literally has DIFFERENT LETTERS, and it changes the meaning of the word. #2 2:58 "..."relieve us of our burdens" your sins WILL BE FORGIVEN, we will grant increase to all good-doers", the Warsh says "will be forgiven" and in the Hafs its "we will forgive" and these 2 words in the arabic also begin with different letters, this changes the meaning of the word. #3 2:184 "...but any of you who are ill or on a journey should fast a number of other days, for those who are able to fast, their ransom is FEEDING POOR MEN..." The Warsh quran says Feeding poor MEN, the Hafs its "feeding a poor MAN" and this is now a problem for islamic law too, because it is seemingly 2 different legal rulings, one verse prescribes compensating for missing fasting by feeding one poor man, and the other it is feeding more than one poor men, which islamic legal ruling is correct?... #4 3:81 "Remember when allah made a covenant with the prophets: now that WE HAVE GIVEN YOU a share of the book of wisdom..." the Warsh quran says "we have given you" while in the hafs it is "I have given you", the consonantal difference changes the meaning of the word. The letter Nun is apparent in the Warsh Quran and the letter Ta in the Hafs Quran. #5 3:146 "many a prophet HAS BEEN KILLED when there were many thousands with him..." In the Warsh quran it says "has been killed" but in the Hafs it is "HAS FOUGHT", in the Warsh the verb is passive and that changes the meaning...so should the quran say "has been killed" or "has fought"...? ... #6 28:46 "...but did they not previously reject what Moses was given? they say "TWO MAGICIANS who back eachother up..." Warsh says "two magicians" but the Hafs says "TWO WORKS OF MAGIC" Hmmm, so is allah telling us about 2 magicians or about 2 works of magic? theyre not the same.... #7 4:152 "...WE WILL GIVE THEM their wages..." In the Warsh "we will give them" in the Hafs it is "He will give them", a consonantal difference that changes the meaning of the word. In the Warsh there is the letter Nun "NuTihim" while in Hafs the letter Ya "Ya-Tihim"...#8 21:4 "SAY: My lord knows what is said in heaven and earth..." In the Warsh "say" a command verb, and in the Haffs it is "He said:", in the Warsh it is 2nd person masculine singular imperative verb, while in the Hafs it is 3rd person masculine singular perfect verb, SO, is it an order that must be obeyed, as in the Warsh Quran, or is it simply a statement someone said as in the Hafs Quran, and this same variant is also found in verse 112 of this same chapter. So, is it "preserved and guarded from corruption" as Surah 15:9 says?

To keep Shabat. Even their punishment was based on Judaic law not based on the Islamic sharia. But Quran didn't say the same about Christianity. What you miss out here is that the father also told the loyal son, "You are always with me, and everything I have is yours." Although the lost son was given a ring, a robe, and a banquet, that was all he was going to get. The bulk of the father's blessings were going to the son who had always stayed with him. 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 also explains this. Nothing but faith is Jesus is enough to be saved, by the skin of your teeth: "If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire." But the lazy Christian won't get anything like the rewards of the loyal believers. Works are not irrelevant.

Christians hate Jews because they know they stole the Jewish religion and made changes to it that the Jews know are unacceptable. The cause of Antisemitism is the illicit appropriation of Judaism. Next time you think of shoplifting someone else's religion, please ask them first, or just go back to worshiping your Roman pagan gods. And the Muslims also shoplifted Judaism. Notice Hindus and Buddhists don't hate Jews? Because they didn't steal from the Jews. Thieves always disrespect their victims.

Listening to Tovia Singer is like listening to so many religous leaders whose sole purpose is to misrepresent the gospel and the Biblical teachings as found in the New Testament, even the Old Testament.
Listening you would think that there was no requirement for blood sacrifice in the Old Testament, even Leviticus, for any sin committed against God.
From Lev 1 to Lev 7 one reads of the various offerings that had to be done. The included a burnt offering where the whole animal was offered.
There was also a sin/purification offering Lev 4:1 - Lev 5:13 and Lev 6:24-30, and dealt with the disruption in the relationship between men and God. We read:
"Lev 6:25 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy."
It is called a SIN offering. This is clearly an indication that something that disrupts the relationship between men and God had to be dealt with as sin and an animal had to be sacrificed for that.

I’m afraid Rabbi Singer has completely missed the point of the parables because he started his exegesis a few verses too late. Had he started at Luke 15:2 he would have seen that the Pharisees were complaining that Jesus was welcoming and eating with sinners. The three parables that follow were in response to the Pharisees complaint and each parable speaks of the rejoicing when something that was lost (a sinner) is found. This was Jesus explaining that the word of God is for sinners as well as the righteous. As Jesus says in the verse leading into the Prodigal Son parable, “… there is joy in the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Lk 15:10)

According to the Book of Daniel, the Messiah will not just come in glory, he will also suffer and die.
Daniel gives a timetable for the coming of the Messiah, he will come 490 years after the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem which had been destroyed by the Babylonian Empire ( ca. 587 BC)
The angel Gabriel said to Daniel, " 70 weeks of years ( 490 years) are decreed concerning your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression , to put an end to sin, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to amount a " Most Holy One". Know therefore and understand that from going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of a Messiah, " a prince there shall be 7 weeks"
Then for 62 weeks it shall be built again, but in a troubled time.
And after 62 weeks a Messiah shall be " cut off" and shall have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. ( Daniel 9:24-27)
The prophecy declares that there will be 490 years ( 70 weeks of years) between the restoration of the city of Jerusalem and the coming of the Messiah.
The first prophecy describes the heavenly enthronement of the Messiah, the second describes the earthly suffering and death of the Messiah, the third and final prophecy links the death of the future Messiah to the destruction of the city of Jerusalem and the temple sanctuary resulting in the end of sacrifice and a mysterious " abomination" that makes desolate ( Daniel 9:27).
Jesus refers to this passage from Daniel when he warns the disciples about the " abomination of desolation" and the destruction of Jerusalem ( Matthew 24:15, Mark 13:14)
So, Daniel had not only prophesized that the Messiah would come, he predicted when he would come, what would happen to him and what would happen to Jerusalem and its temple. And it happened in the 1 st century.
The first century AD was believed that the Kingdom of God spoken by Daniel would come sometime during the reign of the Roman Empire.
This is the Kingdom Jesus came to announce.
" The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand" ( Mark 1:15)
The Kingdom is not a man made Kingdom, it is represented as a stone " cut out by no human hand" ( Daniel 2:34) that us a supernatural kingdom made by God himself.
When Jesus speaks about the " Son if Man" he is referring to another prophecy from the Book of Daniel, the vision of the four beasts and the coming of " one like a Son of Man" ( Daniel 7)
" Behold, with the clouds of Heaven there came one like a Son of Man, and he came to the ancient if days and was presented before him....
      ( Daniel 7:9-13-14).
The Don of Man is the King of the 5 the Kingdom, the ever lasting Kingdom of God.
In the popular book in first century Judaism, " the Son of Man" is explicitly identified as the " Messiah.
Another 1 st century Jewish writing interprets Daniel's vision of " the figure of a man flying with the clouds of heaven" as a reference to the "Son of God" ( Ezra 13:1-52)
Later Rabbis identified the " Don of Man" in Daniel as the Messiah ( Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a Numbers Rabbach 23:14)
Jesus came precisely during the reign of Tiberius Caesar.
The long awaited Kingdom of God and the Messianic " Son of Man" were supposed to come during the time of the Roman empire and that is when Jesus began his public ministry.

There were even guilt offerings for specific wrongdoings which involved desecration of divine things, and as outlined in Lev 5:14 - Lev 6:7, as well as Lev 7:1-10, a flock animal was REQUIRED to be sacrificed. Blood had to be shed.
And none of these offerings was a do-it-yourself activity. You couldn't of yourself do these sacrifices, you needed a priest authorised by God. None such priests exist today in Israel or in any Jewish community anywhere.
The parable in Luke was a simplification which did not have to include details that the Jews of the time already knew, so why is something, that Tovia himself emphasises is a "story", suddenly disingenuously taken to replace the Word of God as given to Moses?
And even if it is so that he thinks Jesus took liberties in withholding details, the rest of what He told cannot now be conveniently ignored as if Jesus only told one isolated story.
Tovia is deliberately trying to mislead people from reading the Bible for themselves and understanding what was said with the proper context.
The reasoning behind the Prodigal son, is to show men that GOd requires repentance and that He is able to forgive. It is not meant to replace the Bible or become what it clearly is not.

@@jessedylan6162 Really? So for 2000 years nobody noticed? This is wishful thinking. Jesus was the sworn enemy of the Rabbis because they thought they knew God's word. They read it with their carnal, limited human understanding and it has remained a closed book to them in spite of reading ability. They fail to notice that they do not follow it anyway, like for example the daily sacrifices and Lev 6:13 the continual fire on the altar that was never supposed to go out. The fire went out in AD70 when the pagan Roman emperor Titus invaded Jerusalem and destroyed the temple. It was never rebuilt, and instead of the priesthood being restored, the rabbinnic order came in at the behest of a non-Jew, which Tovia can tell you about (or perhaps he wouldn't want to) and they brought in their traditions Jesus warned about and the Talmud (NOT God's word), which they esteem ABOVE God's word, so I would be careful in believing what anyone with such dubious authority says. Unless you believe anything from anyone.

@@jessedylan6162 I would take my own advice if I were you. You say God exists. Then pray to Him and ask him to settle this matte. The two of us are not as qualified as He is to settle this. That will only be if you are atrue believer in God and not a mere religious adherent. There are adherents everywhere, but believing in God takes faith and boldness. What does the Almighty have to say about this? Elijah put a challenge to the Baal worshippers of Jezebel and Ahab. The one that answers with fire. If you ask the God of the Bible, then He would settle this. Take this challenge or leave the challenge - the ball sis in your court. Daniel fasted and prayed for revelation, or do you not believe Daniel to have been a prophet of God?

    • @your_utube
      @your_utube 2 года назад

@@jessedylan6162 , I am glad that you are able to have an open exchange about this weighty matter.
I think many Jews are unaware how much deep Christians really believe and base their lives on the Bible, with the Old Testament (The Tanach) being as important.
I have lived and centred my life around the God of the Bible, and not mere religion, either by family tradition or habit.
I have to tell you that when you discover the God of the Bible, you do not begin with the Messiah. Christianity is not about whether Jesus was the Messiah. We are wise enough to know that the Messiah is not a concept that is major to us. That is more a Jewish thing.
When the apostles were tasked by Jesus after His resurrection to go and spread the gospel to the entire world, starting with Jerusalem and the part of the world around there, they understood it well enough, after years of discussion with Him to know what matters and they knew that the messiah is not really for us non-Jews. That we see Jesus as the Messiah is an incidental fact.
To us ( actually mostly our ancestors) who were into paganism and heathenism, the idea of Saviour was uppermost, which is what His name means - Saviour.
We were in our sins and lost without God, and God made a plan for the whole world.
That is the promise that God made to Abraham. This is why Abraham is known as the father of faith, because he believed God and was obedient to God, from which his righteousness was derived. We see in Abraham a huge father figure and his fatherhood is trans-national because of the Bible. God does not lie and He did what He said that He would do.
However, the most important part of Christian theology starts not with Abraham, but with the promise that God made in Genesis 3 when the 3 accused stood in judgment before Him: Adam, Eve and the snake (Lucifer/Satan).
God promised something very, very profound that the argument about who the Messiah is, does not overshadow.
The promise to Eve and Satan, was also the ultimate redemption of Eve, but just as much as that of Adam. If Eve was the one that made Adam sin, because Adam accused her and God nowhere refutes his accusation, then how wonderful that God would tie the salvation of man up in a woman.
That is a far deeper issue that "who is the messiah", because Jews claim to have had many messiahs over the ages. What makes the Christian faith so revolting to Jews and which led to Jesus being put on trial and crucified, was the fact that we believe Jesus when he claimed to be God and we have reason to believe that He proved it.
The Apostles were all Jews, and if Judaism was going to provide 2 sides to the arguments to the issues in the Bible, then it is done exactly that way: Jews who cling to Moses' side, or so they believe, involving a covenant God made with them at Sinai, and those Jews who came to us with one based on the later one based on Abraham's faith.
In the New Testament when the member of the Sanhedrin by the name of Nicodemus came to Jesus in the night, He wanted to know what to do to inherit the kingdom of God, not whether He was the Messiah.
Nicodemus stated that he believed that Jesus came from God as none of the things Jesus did could ever happen if He was not from God. Nicodemus was not obsessed with messiahdom. He was concerned with the real issue.
As an important question, let me ask you this: What is the most pressing question that all religions have and does the Bible contain that question?
I would love you hear what you have to say about this, because I feel we can exchange information about this, since I have never engaged in an religious exchange with a Jew before, so I find this interesting.
To get back to the issue of the promise God gave, is that GOd said that He would make the seed of the woman destroy the head of the snake and that the snake would bite his heel. God never lies, and what he promised here would have to be someone born of a virgin as Isaiah states:
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel means God with us. Can God be with us, born of a woman who was a virgin? Either Isaiah is confused here or Isaiah reported the truth as God told him, and I believe Isaiah told us exactly what God said. At the time nooday had ever heard that a virign conceived, but throughout the history of the Middle East and Israel, who has ever claimed such a thing? Only the Jewish Apostles who laid down their lives in service to Him, and when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, his earthly mother, who conceived Him while she was still a virgin, the angel said that they would call him Emmanuel. Not messaiah.
ou mention criteria that the messiah must meet and some of them Jesus meets, but that is not in terms of prophecy a priority. According to the Bible, the Jewis people were supposed to reject the servant of God, also known as the Lamb of God, bring salvation by His suffering and death and would need to be resurrected from the grave. These things were in line with the promise of Genesis 3. It is sad that the Jews would reject Him, but that is precisely what Jesus Christ said BEFORE going to Jerusalem where He was killed, because that is how God fulfilled the prophecy about bringing and end to the slaughter of goats and sheep and animals in religious sacrifice.
The Lamb of God of Isaiah 53 was a man, not an animal. If Abraham was prepared to kill Isaac in obedience to God's command, then why would God let a man, inferior to a perfect sacrifice, outdo Him as God. That is the main problem with Judaism of that day and today, that they saw it as barbaric that a man had to be sacrificed, yet the pagans had no problem with it, which is what the priest inJerusalem allowed when they released Jesus into the hands of the heathens of Rome who then went and sacrificed Jesus, in line with Jewish prophecy.
The fact that Jesus did not have physical father of Jewish decent was a requirement of Genesis 3.
Secondly to be called Immanuel, born of a woman who was a virgin, is not a Biblical fact to ignore, and who is more important God with us or a Messiah. Since the person who would have a temple would need to be worshipped, where is the precedent that David would be worthy of worship when he was the man who murdered Urriah for his wife?
God thought it so reprehensible, that he forbid him to build the temple and he was forced to let his son Solomon build it. it is clear that the chronology is a problem here. There is no reason to believe that it would be done in any fixed order.
Jesus could still fulfill them with ease, but He is not going to be born of a man, if He was to have a virgin as mother as per Isaiah.
Your point (3) was fulfilled in 1948 and 1967 with eastern Jerusalem being reclaimed in the six-day-war, so do you not find it odd that the Messiah has not appeared yet?
That is because he has hidden His face from the house of Judah
Isa 8:17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
And the verse before that must make you wonder:
Isa 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
The passage In Isaiah before that is just as telling:
Isa 8:11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
8:12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
8:15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
Why would God say that he would be a stumbling stone and a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel?
      It is an understantement that
Jesus is probably the most hated and detested in all of Israel today, just as written in that passage.
You also state that the Messiah was supposed to be the one to bring world peace, which is exactly as it should be understood and your answer is also in Isaiah:
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
And here you read things that ought to make you worry when compared to your view.
      Here He:
      1. Governs the world, is
      2. Wonderful
      3. Counsellor
      4. called Prince of Peace
      But disturbingly also:
      5. The mighty God
      6. Everlsting Father
But yet it starts with "unto us a child is born".
How can a child be born and be called God?

We believe Jesus is God because it is stated in the Bible in Isaiah that He would be born, but if he were to be born of a male progeny then he would fail to fulfill Genesis 3.
I can tell you that things about that in the Old Testament (Tanach) that would make your head reel, because I see you have a very good grasp of things, but you are missing certain things in the way you have been taught.

Before when I think of the verses on the prodigal son, my thought only was God is so merciful and so willing to forgive, and Israel, our elder brother is bad, for getting angry that God our Father has forgiven us. Until recently, God made me noticed something else. God made me realized how the two sons differ in how they perceive their father. The younger was so audacious with the kindness of the father, while the elder son seemed to be not so close to the father. And when I wondered why, God made me understand and I cried. When God entrusted this world to humanity, though we are supposed to love one another, as our Creator love us, if we choose to kill each other He will not interfere but He will judge us. But praise God that He is so merciful that before He judged the world, He decided to make Himself known again to humanity, to call us to repentance and be forgiven. When He called out Abraham, who God KNEW would obey Him, God had declared His plan: to bless all peoples on earth through Abraham, through the offspring of Isaac and Jacob Genesis 12:3, 26:4, 28:14. And God made the descendants of Abraham, the Jews His people, who God used to accomplish His plan of making Himself known to humanity, through the Scripture, revealing our state of sinfulness and the consequent penalty for sin, but in His mercy He called us to repentance and offered us grace to forgiveness. God had shown the Israelites that He will not be mocked, He will stop receiving sin offerings, He will not forgive when they are not repentant, that God allowed the destruction of the temple and send them into captivity. These caused the Jews to be so fearful of disobeying God, that thousand of years later after they were dispersed into different places, when God returned them to their homeland they are still doing what they are commanded to do. To prove that the Scripture is true, for they are the nation that God had made, who rest on their Sabbath, the seventh day. Until now, Israel is still "working" for God, to prove the truth of the Scripture, that God is the Alpha and Omega, when the last days prophesy on Israel will happen. Christians should BEWARE of replacement theology, they will earn the wrath of God. God expect us to bless Israel BECAUSE through Israel God has given us the "Lamb" for the atonement sacrifice, and God's anointed priests "offered" the sacrifice as required, though they don't believe it was a sin offering, And the Scripture. Israel truly deserved to be lifted up among the nations for their service to God and the world. God bless that day when Israel will no longer fear but be enveloped by the love of the Father.
God made me understand this: some Jews would never understand our understanding of the bible. Like a tapestry they are the cloth and the thread that God had woven, they can't see the finished work that God is showing the Gentiles,

You are very articulate and passionate in your teachings, Rabbi, but I must say that I take exception to some of your points.
There is no contradiction between the teachings of Jesus and the teachings of the Church (or the teachings of Paul for that matter). It is important to consider the New Testament as a whole, not just individual passages. Repentance is a principal part of Christian teaching, and it cannot be separated from atonement (this is a theme throughout the Old Testament as well: atonement at repentance go together). In fact, it is untrue to say that salvation in repentance is contradictory to Pauline theology as Paul discusses the relevance of repentance to salvation in Romans 2:4, 2 Corinthians 7:9-11, and 2 Timothy 2:25. It is also important to note that the writers of the New Testaments had different audiences in mind. Luke is writing to a primarily Gentile audience, so of course he will make a bigger deal about repentance since Gentiles of the day would find the idea foreign, whereas Matthew had a Jewish audience in mind so he wouldn't feel the need to belabor a doctrine his audience was already familiar with. Likewise, with Paul, he is usually writing to individuals who are already professing Christians, and so that's why he talks more about continuing to "fight the good fight" than repentance: his audience already grasps the importance of repentance.

Confront your pastors with the following and don't allow for any deflections. They will run away from you.
Here is the Trinity-DEST-ROYING testimony of Jesus.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know *YOU THE ONLY TRUE GOD* , and Jesus Christ, whom *YOU* have sent.”
      John 17:3
Jesus has NOTHING to do with the ab-om-inat-ion called the Christian faith. And BTW, if you have any pr-ejud-ice for the Muslims, remember that it is primarily because of the same ly-in-g pastors. Just remember that.
*Do YOU realize that the ONLY people on the face of the earth who practice and uphold and preach and defend the doctrine and honor of Jesus OF THE BIBLE are the Muslim* ?????
It's an amazing situation really. On each and every fundamental doctrine, Christianity (overwhelming) is AGAINST Jesus of their very own scriptures BUT the Muslim is calling the Christians to go by what Jesus precticed and preached. 🤗
👉 Jesus gave the Trinity-DESTROYING testimony that THE FATHER (SINGLE PERSON) IS THE ONLY TRUE GOD but the Christians (overwhelming) testify that the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (The Trinity) is the true God.
      👉 John 4:21-22
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, *WORSHIP THE FATHER* .
Ye worship ye know not what: *WE* know what *WE WORSHIP* : for salvation is of the Jews.
      Have another look:
      *WE WORSHIP*
(The J-E-W nation INCLUDING ME - Jesus)
👉 “And this is life eternal, that they might know *YOU THE ONLY TRUE GOD* , and Jesus Christ, whom *YOU* have sent.”
      John 17:3
👉 John 20:17: “Jesus saith unto her, ...I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and TO MY GOD, AND YOUR GOD.”
      Have another look!
".... *TO MY GOD and YOUR GOD* "
      ME and YOU 👉 *WE*
      *WE WORSHIP*
THE ONLY TRUE GOD - THE FATHER who is THE GOD OF ME (Jesus) and YOU 👉 *OUR GOD*
👉 And Jesus answered him, THE FIRST OF ALL the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord *OUR GOD* is one Lord
      Mark 12:29
👉 Jesus teaches: “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and *HIM ONLY* shalt thou serve” Luke 4:8. Notice the words: “HIM ONLY.” Jesus did not say “US only,” or “Him and I only.” How could he possibly i it more clear than that? Jesus told to worship ONLY THE FATHER - who is THE GOD of Jesus too.
👉 NEVER preached about Original Sin
👉 NEVER preached that for salvation, people needed to believe that Jesus died (will die) for their sins
👉 NEVER preached that the wages of sins is death
👉 PREACHED that for the forgiveness - NO payment needed, NO sacrifice of Jesus, NO Jesus paid for us

There is so much, I believe, that is missing in the New Testament. I have done considerable research to compensate. You and I would probably differ in many areas, which I don't hold against you, but I think the essence of your point is correct and clear. I believe that Jesus was a prophet and a mystic, and much of his teaching was left out, or expunged, from the New Testament (probably by Justinian and Theodora who were nominally Christian but corrupt rulers).

@Abraham Mani God forgave anyone in the "OT" by repentance Ezekiel 18, Jeremiah, Isaiah and King David. No blood sacrifice was ever required for Gods forgiveness. And Elizabeth and Zecharias were both blameless before God even BEFORE the pagan sacrifice of a human being. You fail to consider the verses that say "the wages of sin is death". So if Jesus died for all your sins past present and future, then he should still be dead as that IS the price for your sins. He is alive, therefore my sins are not forgiven. I must offer my own life as a sacrifice for my own inquity as quoted in both the Old and New testament. Thats called REPENTANCE and living by his 10 commandments. If Jesus has already paid for all our sins then repenting wouldn't be necessary for the whole world.. I suggest you re- read the bible again and again. Just stating the facts. God is not a man Hosea 11:9 and he never changes.

100% correct that it shatters Church doctrine but, in my humble opinion, it is about the 2 houses of Israel and Judah. The younger son is the House of Israel (aka Joseph/Ephraim) that strayed from God and the Torah and joined to Gentiles (Hoshea 8:8) and were subsequently divorced whereas the House of Judah (older son) was always with God and despite the fact that they did stray, they always repented and did teshuvah. Read the entire book of Hoshea then re-read the Prodigal Son with that in mind as the background and it makes far more sense. Israel (younger son) joined themselves to Gentiles and their idols and eventually will wake up and come home begging for forgiveness. Judah (older son) never left and has "always obeyed His commandments". This shatters Christian doctrine because its about Israel returning to God and rejoining their brother Judah. Nothing to do with Gentiles. It becomes even more interesting when Jesus says "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel".... not the House of Judah because they had not strayed from God and His Torah.

Read the Bible for yourself -the whole Bible - and do not be mislead by insincere men like Tovia.

I am grateful to HaShem, blessed is He, that He called me to return to him, because the statement you just made at the beginning of this video was my believe, and now I see the silliness of it all. I once had a vision in which this spiritual being brought me to a tower and showed me a garden that had died out and was full of thorns. There was only one little flower triumphantly standing on it's own stem and so very much alive. At the time I didn't understand what this Angel was trying to tell me, all I saw were the thorns and such beautiful garden lost and dried out. Totally dead. And the spirit said to me very sadly, "they" have changed everything. What did this angel mean, I asked myself. Later on I found the answer. You bring up some great points but as Christians we need to reconcile the parable (actually the whole Bible) of the prodigal son with Jesus' own words in
John 14:6: Aramaic Bible in Plain English
Yeshua said to him, “I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Way and The Truth and The Life; no man comes to my Father but by me alone.”
So, in this parable, we take the prodigal sons' repentance to his father as asking Yeshua for forgiveness.

Rabbi Tovia, I am a member of the Baha’i Faith. I consider you a friend despite certain interpretations of the sacred texts that you have expressed which I do not agree with. I respect Moses just as much as I respect Jesus the Christ. I am sure you agree that at the time of Noah and in the region he was in, he was the only intermediary between God and humanity and no one else. Whatever he taught was a reflection of God’s will for humanity. At the time of Abraham, it was only him that God had chosen to reveal His will to humanity. Then, at the time of Moses, it was neither Noah nor Abraham, but Moses who was chosen to be the intermediary and the vehicle of God’s will. So this principle of intermediary between God and humanity is not a unique feature to Christianity but has always existed throughout religious history.
Obviously, we do not have the scientifically verified and historically authenticated original words of Noah, Abraham, or even Moses. That’s just fact. This is why numerous irreconcilable contradictions are found in Tanakh but yet we know and believe the substance of the text to be true even if we do not have every single authenticated word that had come of the mouths of the major or minor prophets. This is nothing different here when it comes to the teachings of Jesus and his apostles. We do not have their authenticated literal words. So, in every case we are left with a substance of the earliest manuscripts in order to examine and decipher possible facts from fictions. We have to be careful not to jump to conclusions and mix our own biases and prejudices with the relevant evidences available at the moment.
You have strongly expressed that in Christianity our sins can only be truly forgiven through Christ and you quote several places in the New Testament as proof. But let’s go slow and be careful of what we are saying. Let me ask you this, can any Jewish person’s sins be truly and in good conscience forgiven if he as a Jew is fully “rejecting” Moses and the very covenant that God established through him with the Israelite? We have seen what God did to the Jewish people throughout history for not being faithful with the covenant and the teachings he had established with them. So for a Tanakh-believing, jewish person’s sins to be forgiven, their forgiveness from Hashem is tightly intertwined and interwoven with their belief in Hashem and the covenant (the Law) He established with people through His prophet, Moses. Therefore, no part of this can be acceptable to Hashem without conscious belief and faith in Hashem Himself, His Covenant and the Law, and His carefully chosen vehicle--Moses. So far so good?
But what about gentiles’ sins? You yourself have mentioned numerous times that the reason the world has suffered and is still suffering is because the peoples of the world are worshipping the wrong gods, and that eventually when the messiah comes, the world will find peace because the whole world would come to acknowledge the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, the bottom line is unless humanity realizes and believes in Hashem and exactly what He has taught, they would be living a life that is not in accordance with the divine will. We have seen throughout Tanakh what God has done to any nation or people that have rejected God’s will, commandments and laws. So in short, Tanakh says, do it His way or suffer the consequences.
But in Christianity it’s the same sentiment, just as rejecting Moses would be equivalent to reject God, because Moses was chosen through the Will God, and therefore rejection of Moses would be the very rejection of the Will of God, and to reject the Will of God would be in tantamount to rejecting God Himself. So, when a Christian states the necessity of believing in Jesus the Christ who was chosen by God (the Father) as a fundamental prerequisite for the forgiveness of the sins, then, they are not saying anything different than what Judaism, for a true repentance, has emphatically stated for thousands of years on the necessary and fundamental prerequisite in believing in: 1) Hashem, 2) obeying God’s instructions, and 3) the divinely chosen prophet (Moses) whom Hashem had specifically chosen to reveal His will through. In Tanakh, all three are to be acknowledged and accepted by any sincere Jew. Exact same thing had taken place during Noah’s time but back then it was Noah and not Moses; and same thing had happened during Abraham’s time on earth, but again it was Abraham and not Moses, and in each case the covenants and the requirements and laws were different. And just as Noah, Abraham, and Moses were different and had revealed different aspects of God’s will, we can say Jesus also revealed a different aspect of God’s will and had invited the people of his age to obey and submit themselves to the same true God. Forgiveness of sins, for both believers and non-believers was taught to be asked from God (The Father) alone. Also, he (Jesus) states that forgiving other people is not only possible but can also facilitate God forgiving your own sins:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you....”
    (Matthew 6:9-15 KJV)
As far as the apostle Paul’s assertions are concerned about the forgiveness of sins being only possible by faith in Jesus Christ, is nothing strange or different than the persistent emphasis in Judaism on acknowledging and believing in God’s great prophet--Moses, and what Hashem had revealed through him. We cannot understate the importance of Moses and the role he played in Judaism, just as Jesus did in Christianity. After all, if we take Moses out of the equation, then the whole Tanakh would lose all its meaning and its rightful place in the history of mankind. These topics are interdependent and inseparable.

Read the Bible for yourself -the whole Bible - and do not be mislead by insincere men like Tovia.

Warsh says "two magicians" but the Hafs says "TWO WORKS OF MAGIC" Hmmm, so is allah telling us about 2 magicians or about 2 works of magic? theyre not the same.... #7 4:152 "...WE WILL GIVE THEM their wages..." In the Warsh "we will give them" in the Hafs it is "He will give them", a consonantal difference that changes the meaning of the word. In the Warsh "say" a command verb, and in the Haffs it is "He said:", in the Warsh it is 2nd person masculine singular imperative verb, while in the Hafs it is 3rd person masculine singular perfect verb, SO, is it an order that must be obeyed, as in the Warsh Quran, or is it simply a statement someone said as in the Hafs Quran, and this same variant is also found in verse 112 of this same chapter. What’s the truth behind the parable of the prodigal son (and many more in this series of parables)? It’s concluded in Luke 18 about Jesus foretelling his crucifixion as the satisfaction of the punishment for sin.
And what was the result of telling the parables? Luke 18:34, “But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.”

Paul is a Roman government agent that is just establishing the authority of MAN a “man named Jesus Christ as a mediator” to set up the Pope and priest system. Where you have to go to men to ask for forgiveness and men can make up rules about what is wrong. If they say “Jesus was a man who has the power of God” every one who says they are the head of Paul’s church is literally God and all his anointed priests have the power to forgive or condemn people.

In Isaiah 53 a sinful Israel as a nation cannot be suffering servant who will die for the nations its against Gods word and in total blasphemy
The suffering servant is only The Son of Man (yeshua) a sign from God Himself who was cut off from the land of the living and bore for our sins.

He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,

Because He (T)poured out His soul unto death,
And He was (U)numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And (V)made intercession for the transgressors.
👆 Yeshua took the sins and made intercession for the wicked.
Believe and repent turn back to God and everyone who believe in him shall be saved.
But at the same time not everyone who says Lord Lord will be saved but keeping the commandments of the Father who is in heaven.
    Revelation 22:13-14

14 (B)Blessed are those who [b]do His commandments, that they may have the right (C)to the tree of life, (D)and may enter through the gates into the city.
Yeshua is Aleph -tav everything that was made through him and for him only.
Yeshua says everything that is written in the scroll was written about him.
An innocent man cannot die for another yet Isaiah 53 talks about someone who shall die for sins of the world and yet God accepts it.

Wow, a lot to unpack here, so I’ll make this brief.
Isaiah 53 is about Israel. The servant is called Israel.
You mistranslated Daniel 9. Tovia has several videos on this.
In Genesis 19, an angel is being called God. This isn’t a convention used in modern day writing, but that’s what happens in Tanakh.
Daniel 7 is about messiah, but it isn’t meant to be taken literally, since it describes a dream.
Revelation is not scripture. And before you say anything, 1 Enoch isn’t scripture either.

      1. There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days.
      2. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.
      3. This Son of man, whom thou beholdest, shall raise up kings and the mighty from their couches, and the powerful from their thrones; shall loosen the bridles of the powerful, and break in pieces the teeth of sinners.
      4. He shall hurl kings from their thrones and their dominions; because they will not exalt and praise him, nor humble themselves before him, by whom their kingdoms were granted to them. The countenance likewise of the mighty shall He cast down, filling them with confusion. Darkness shall be their habitation, and worms shall be their bed; nor from that their bed shall they hope to be again raised, because they exalted not the name of the Lord of spirits.
      5. They shall condemn the stars of heaven, shall lift up their hands against the Most High, shall tread upon and inhabit the earth, exhibiting all their works of iniquity, even their works of iniquity. Their strength shall be in their riches, and their faith in the gods whom they have formed with their own hands. I'm not thoroughly versed in Christianity but I think according to Christianity, God will receive any and everyone who repents. (John the Baptizer got people to repent, Jesus did before his crucifixion and Jesus told the Samaritan woman to go and sin no more.) I think the death of Jesus is about restoring Christian people to what human lost in Eden and giving the Holy Spirit. You know? Forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration.

Wow. Every time I listen to Tovia, I am amazed at his spiritual blindness.
The story of the prodigal son states that "when the young man came to his senses" he went back home. The brother was jealous about the homecoming celebration. In a nutshell, it is the story of gentiles and jews reconciling with God. The gentile is realizing they've sinned and need to do better. The jew is like Tovia.. blind to the fact that the homecoming is a good thing for everyone.
Tovia claims the story is anti-Christian.. that IF all we need to do is say sorry in order to be forgiven, there is no need for Christ. He forgets that the story of Christ is necessary for the gentile. We did not grow up with the Torah or Tanakh. We don't even speak the Hebrew language. We have to start somewhere and Christ is a good place to start.

And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

I am member of a Christian church that has full understanding that repentance is absolutely necessary to receive forgiveness. Jesus is part of the equation, yes belief in Him is very important. @@justsaved3876 Jesus didn’t fulfill the Law. The crucifiction story violates the Hebrew Bible in many ways. Read the book. You may not ‘worship’ christianity, but you worship the supposed word of god. So, Paul wrote his letters decades before the gospels. Why? If you followed a man around for three years, and he walked on water, raised the dead, healed the sick and blind etc. Wouldn’t you want the world to know? But it took multiple decades to get Greek scribes to write the gospels. And with errors. And whoever wrote the Synoptics, they couldn’t keep their stories straight so the had to heavily rely on whoever wrote mark. If you experienced, what you experienced even decades earlier, wouldn’t that be burned in your mind that you wouldn’t need to borrow from another writer? I think prior to Paul, it was a fringe following, and certainly didn’t carry the power of Paul. Believe what you will, imo, Paul’s teaching had strong Hellenistic ties. God said His Law is perfect, and to think that there is such a thing as a New Testament is blasphemy.

I think the Rabbi is trying to say that the father is God and it's Jewish theology that you can repent and turn to God. Christians can easily usurp that and just say that the father represents Jesus, and you can repent and return to Jesus. So, I'm not seeing why it's a problem with Christian theology.

The salvation of a soul is always preceded and accompanied by the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. That happened to the younger son. No one is ever truly saved without experiencing this conviction of which Jesus spoke in John 16:7- 11 People are told in some denominations that they can be saved "at will"; that is, just when they decide they would like to be saved, and very often those who preach that fail to realize how imperative it is to pray for the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. Without which the awareness of the need of a Savior cannot be realized. In the salvation of a soul it is always God who takes the initiative - look up Genesis 3: 9 and John 15:16. If God did not seek man, man would never seek after God - look up Romans 3:11,and compare John 5:6 and 6:4 This raises the question: How does the Father draw us to Christ? The answer is - by the Holy Spirit, and the first great work that the Holy Spirit accomplishes is the work of conviction; this means, in simple terms, that He convinces us of our desperate need of a Savior - look up Genesis 6:3 and Hebrews 3:7- 8. His "striving" and His "speaking" are all with a view to His great work of conviction. Conviction is what happened to the periodical son and not to the oldest who was as sin full as the Younger. Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Never Lost is Never saved. Works do not Save. It's Christ alone

What you describe is "sola fide" and it's only 500 years old. Jesus' sacrifice made it possible for man to join with God after the fall of Adam and Eve. One reason why forgiveness has to come through Jesus might be so everyone would worship the real God, there are no diverse ways to salvation and to Father.

There is practically nothing in the Christian Bible that the Christian Bible does not contradict. That is why it works so well. Both sides to every topic are covered and you can cherry pick which ones you like and discard the ones you do not like. Then you can claim that you are getting your moral relativism from on high, a superior power, and you can justify your actions with your nonsensical, cherry picked rhetoric. This is what I call the Christian circular fallacy. Its good because its in the book and its in the book because it is good.

Tovia Paul is not teaching vicarious atonement,
    see Rom 2:5 But in accordance with your hardness and your [a]impenitent heart you are [b]treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
Paul does not teach Antinomiamism see Rom 3:31
"Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law."
    Isa 43:19
Remember ye not the former things,
Neither consider the things of old.
    19Behold, I will do a new thing;
Now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness,
    And rivers in the desert.
God can bring new revelation, this is His word and you reject it.

Why do you keep deleting my comments which disprove some of your arguments? Are you more interested in
being right than in Truth? I can't post my comments on the Prodigal Son because you have made me invisible. I hope you repent
for doing this, and allow me to comment and present my understanding which counters your presentation and position
and conclusions that you make on this parable given by Jesus in the book of Luke. You deleted the counter arguments I posted on
a different RUclips video regarding the LORD'S PRAYER, and made me invisible there. Please let me post my comments, it
takes me a lot of time and effort to do so. I will be happy to take my time and post my comments on the Prodigal Son if you
allow the one I posted on the Lord's prayer.
I like watching your videos and listening sincerely to what you have to say, and carefully check them out. You bring up some
questions I have had in the past, and I am interested in what facts you share . I also love learning about the Jewish understanding of
the Hebrew Scriptures. So please do not shut me out of the comment section.
    Shalom

To make this Christian, the younger son would have to go through the oldest son (Jesus) to get to the father (God). Smh

    Does God save? YES:
[Isa 12:2 ] 2 Behold, God [is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH [is] my strength and [my] song; he also is become my salvation.

It actually does not “shatter” church doctrine because it isn’t about the church. It’s about Israel and should be read read with Matt 21:28-30.
And The passage in Ezek 18:23 should be read with 2 Peter 3:9. Not everything in the Gospels are for the Christian church doctrinally.

I appreciate these videos very much. However I have a question re "everything true in the Bible is not new and everything new is not true". According to Prof Amy-Jill Levine there is no Jewish antecedent for the "Love your enemy" doctrine. I don't know if that is capable of being assigned a truth value but is it correct that it was a unique idea in that time and place?

Seems to me the Prodigal Son story was new, and true, too. I mean theTorah didn't have patent rights on the concept of repentance.

The point behind "Love your enemy" is exactly that it is not stated in the Law explicitly. This commandment comes from the Sermon on the Mount. The main idea behind this sermon is God doesn't just want you to obey His commandments. He wants your heart to be in it. In the context of "love your enemy", Jesus is saying that not only should you love others, but you should love so much that you even love your enemy.

@@merrickdodge9760 Thanks for that thought Merrick. As you are no doubt aware, certain contradictions arise if you are referring to the 613 Mitzvot.
