Jesus continues his controversial announcement of good news for the poor during his long road-trip to Jerusalem, which increases conflict with Israel’s religious leaders. This tension provides the setting for the famous parable of the Prodigal Son.

Whenever I hear the Parable of the Prodigal Son, it gives me them FEEEELS.

He knew a thing or two about short stories.
My dad on his deathbed pointed at me and told the nurse see this one, he`s my prodigal son. It helped me see the light.
Yeah, me too.. I can't help but cry a little.. recalling how God is a welcoming and forgiving father to me. His kindness leads us to repentance :')

I say I believe amd trust in Jesus but I dont have a repentant heart; I lack spiritual fruit, contrition, hate for sin, love for the Lord, etc. I have a heart of stone... Please pray the Lord will open up my eyes!!

I love this story. Reminds me so much of myself. I squandered my entire life, lost everything many times over, and when I had nothing my mother still took me in, and help support me when I look like a piece of garbage to everyone else. I might not have anything in this world, not a penny to claim, but I do have my salvation. Amen

I believe people who have done worse are in a position to understand how merciful and forgiving God is. After turning against him and doing something terrible I always feel like He will still be there waiting for me to realise what I have done.
Amen. Seems like Jesus' message of reaching out to the poor, the oppressed, and the sinner with love instead of scorn is being lost on many Christians these days. Hope this video reaches far and wide.
Problem is that a lot of homeless “beggar” type people now a days in America are drugged up violent people and people are afraid to approach them. Or liars who pretend because they are too lazy to work, and they find it hard to know who is genuine or who is a fake. Or at least it is in most major cities.
Some priests is like some pharisees who abused their powers..
But its not LORD God Jesus work its the corrupt priests its those corrupt ppl
@@rustyshackelford3590 Both of these reasons are true. The Bible tells us that things will not get better. I understand about going up to people to, but I will give a little bit of money from my car window sometimes along with a track (if they get money from me, they're also getting some Jesus). I tell them I will pray for them. What they do from there is on them. God knows your heart and your intention. I never give more than $2 or $3. My mom has started buying $5 gift cards from McDonald's. She says at least she knows they'll be getting food.

Far too many so-called Christians literally love Donald Trump more than they love Jesus, and trust him like some kind of Antichrist savior (it’s really weird the depth to which some people are committed to him). They are part of the great delusion and don’t even know they are being mislead to worship an Antichrist corrupt man over the Lord.
I know that I am not the only one who feels like the prodigal son whenever I read that story in Luke.
Christ is making me a different person everyday. No matter how much I resist, I have no escape from him now.
I have a horrible time focusing while reading the Bible, and this helps me so much. I can ingest His word so much easier (at least, when I learn it for the first time). Thank you, and God bless you!

What strikes me most from seeing this video this time around is my reaction to the parable of the lost son. Even though I've gone through it several times, I still found myself feeling like the older brother. It felt unfair. Then I realized how glad I actually am that God doesn't treat us as we deserve!

if it is not God's will on me here in this world I am nothing, but I realized that there worst cases in the world that I can say to my self how fortunate am I having survived everyday with gladness and peace, and having a middle regular class life to survive and enjoying the good life which is healthy and well through out times so' I say Amen, to God who is "just" and to those who ask him will be catered.☺👴 .

Great video! Love the prodigal son tale, father is parable of God reconciling with Man. Older son does not get it-he's like the Pharises, thinks he is worthy and self-righteous, and is angry at God saving his prodigal son. The prodigal KNOWS he is unworthy, but God responds with kindness.
Guys,, that story is about Judah and the younger brother Israel, and Israel’s return of the lost tribes, not a simple story of just reading the words. A parable eludes to a bigger picture not what you just watched.
@@rroot01 That is not true with Judah and Israel. The parable is signifying the difference between someone who works for God all their life from someone who blows off a holy life to live for themselves, then repents later in life to serve God.
I wouldnt say he was self righteous, he was jealous because he remained faithful and not have recieved the treatment as his unfaithful brother did, but he did not see the whole picture

As this story parallels my life, I'm more like the prodigal son, but agree with the older brother.
I was wrong for squandering my many blessings.

@@joeno1934 Same, but the opposite in being like the older brother. It's hard...seeing my faithfulness to my parents and yet feeling thrown aside if it relates the prodigal child.

This story is so wise, mainly speaking of God's forgiveness. But if you look closer, the younger son never got his inheritance back. A life of sin does have consequences, we can be forgiven if we repent, but we need to make wise choices by reading the Word of God and praying for God to give us His wisdom.

I just realized something, following the Son requires sacrifice. A sacrifice that is hard but in the Father, the almighty God, the LORD is there waiting for us.

I converted from islam to Christianity. I made peace with higher calling through Christianity.
i am a Jew and and in our homes in Israel we have the old testament only, without the new one, so one day i met the "one for Israel" ministry, and than i opened the second half, the new testament, and looked at the prophecies of the old, from that point and after he showed me his power and glory and gave me the holy spirit, i could not deny this, today almost 2 years later, i can say: i love Jesus more than anything. this is how the bible changed my life, or more specifically: how god changed my life and opened my eyes through the bible.

Ricardo Chavarria Yes! That would be a great, great video subject. It's a huge theme in the Bible but often one that's hard to get yet crucial if one wants to have right relationship to God. "Repentance" is a must-make.

I love this. It is absolutely the clearest explanation of what Jesus was about in His ministry. Very often forgotten that He came for the lost, the poor, the prisoner, the broken.

Absolutely loved the illustration done to tell the story of the Prodigal Son as well as the transition to showing the ungrateful brother as the Pharisee and the Prodigal Son as the rejected member of society (by the Pharisees).

The parable of the prodigal son or lost son tells us all that we’re all God’s children and yes there’s going to be times that we’re do things that are morally wrong. But there’s one thing that we shouldn’t forget and that is no matter what bad things we do, God’s mercy and love is unconditional.
