It’s always been this way. I’m 71 and was hauling freight in Falcon 20s when 9-11 happened. I’m retiring from college teaching now. It’s always been feast or famine in this industry. If you love flying, don’t do it for a living. Find a way to make money and live low on the hog, then get an airplane and fly for the love of flying.
It is good to be informed on such topics, but also good to ignore the speculation and keep moving forward. Everyone I know who has applied to a regional (even recently) has been hired. If you are reading this and feel discouraged, don’t be. These same CEO’s were saying the airline industry may never recover just a few years ago.
Seems about right. As soon as I am able to go for pilot, the well dries up. I'm always late to the party. At least your speaking reality and not hopes and dreams from flight schools and people running their channels off of new in-coming pilots.

Agreed! Don’t abandon a goal if you truly have passion for it. Do it because you love it, if you get a bonus or hefty paycheck it’s icing on the cake.
Agree!

Here to be a spotlight on reality and not to sensationalize things.
Save your money, pilot shortage is over.
This is far from true.
