History says that the original name for the Pachucos was Tirili or Tirilon who originated in El Paso Texas a.k.a El Chuco or Chuco Town. The Tirilis and the Pachucos pre-date the Zoot suit by a long shot. During the Bracero program in the 40's and 50's Tirili men in Zoot suits would ride the train back to El Paso, when asked where you vatos going they responded "Pues Pa Chuco" hence the term Pachuco.
