Thanks so much! Im a single lady & was so stressed when my pilot light went put.. Your simple to the point video enabled me to do this on my own. You saved me a fortune! Wish I could cook you a turkey dinner for Thankgiving!
This is exactly what my water heater looks like. Your instructions worked perfectly! The only problem I encountered was trying to figure out how to get the interior cover back in place. I had to rotate the cover 45 degrees clockwise, feed it into place, and then rotate it back 45 degrees counter clockwise to its original orientation. Thank you very much for your video!
Thank you "ehow." My water heater is mounted 3.5 inches lower than the basement floor. I am 72 weighing in at 230 lbs.. Getting down there to light the pilot with a flexible butane lighter was cumbersome. Hold this, push that, spiders, and mice. I hate those lighters. I have no idea how I lit it, but it lit. I have been without hot water for a week now. Bird baths get old fast. I'm not touching anything until mid October when I will head south for the winter. Thanks again. Fred.
Omgggg your a life saver man!! My husband won't let me call the neighbor to help he's not home and making look at videos. This looks exactly how mines look your step by step was awesome and life saving thank you!!
This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).
@@AVixen94 so when I did this, it turned out I didn't need any kinds of fire starter.. the thing lit itself thank God 🙏 I sho thought I was boutta blow up the house or sumn but i didn't- good luck!!
Thanks buddy, I can fix all sorts of problems with computers but I am a caveman when it comes to machinery. I wish you had warned me that once I flipped the dial from pilot to on there would be a whole ring that was going to light up though. It scared the jimminies out of me. :p
First off I love the video... Second am I the only one that caught he had a camera inside of the water heater? First time watching it, it didn't dawn on me!!!
I was able to re-light the pilot light, but as soon as I let go of the reset button (after the full minute of warm-up time), the light immediately went back out.
I have a button for the spark, to light it, but I'm sure it's the same idea. If that isn't working, I need to find my long matches like that. I know we have some. 👍
I think we all could use a little chuckle in the world today…….I thought it was funny and would even if I was the repair guy. Tho I would say it looked more “1970’s-1980’s camcorder” to me than “flip phone” 😂😉Happiness is all about perspective ya know? If Mr Repairman has been offended by our humor, he can say so…..I won’t be offended in the slightest. I will even apologize for his lack of “vision” in this situation! 🤩😜✌🏻🤟🏻👍🏻
Single momma here...
This video was just a lifesaver for me!!
Thank you!!

Thank you for the concise instructions. I am a widower and I just successfully relit my gas water heater without killing or maiming anyone!
You're a widow, not a widower (= a man).

Have re lit my pilot light twice now because of your video. Thanks sooooooo much.
Thank you. This was so helpful and clear. All the other videos I found were for matchless igniters.
Thank you for making this video. It was quick and simple and easy to follow.
Great video. I’m recently divorced and never had to do this so I was nervous but this video really makes it easy. Thanks 🙏🏽
I'm married and never had to do this, lol. Gas company came and switched my meter out... but they don't take care of pilot lights for you.
Honestly the best video. Never even looked at my tank and was able to do it
This man just saved my life
Happy to help!

Thank you! Just helped me get my hot shower back
Another satisfied watcher. Thank you! I love you!
Aww heck, I love you too! :-D
Great instructions, thank you - worked like a charm.
Does it HAVE to be a long match stick? One of those long fire-starter lighters would be all bad?
That’s my question too as I need to re light my water heater right now

Lol me too
Thank you. I can show my daughter how when she's older.
Anybody else notice he started with small matches then with movie magic they became the long ass water heater matches LOL
Oh shut it!
Should the flame from the hot water heater be really hot.
woohoo I was able to relit the pilot thanks for your help! How long should it take for the water to heat up???
Thank you for your help

Whos watching this at 3am in quarantine?
Thanks.
I don’t know why I just watched this. I don’t need to light a water heater 😂
Jokes on you I got an electric heater
Did you record this off a flip phone?
Brett Boutwell why would you find a negative angle to such a useful video? You are sad
