Gaildorf!!! Immernoch ne hammer Strecke! Nur leider darf man nicht mehr dort trainieren Gaildorf!!! Still a badass track! But sucks you cant practise there anymore
I was gonna say that. Jeff opened the door for Reed, McFarlane(R.I.P.), Burn, Metcalfe etc. Thorpe won.the world title that year Leisk was second I was at the Farleigh Castle World GP round in 89. Thorpe won that too, Leisk was second, at least that's how I remember it.
This is the vid I remember watching awhile back. I think in the second Thorpe was all but falling off the bike trying to catch the flying freckle. I'm not taking away anything from Thorpe though. He was tough as nails. Ward had a slight advantage being shorter.
The American Magazines used to call Thorpe the worlds fastest Novice saying American Novice racers had better style then him and could beat him in a race. Thorpe was a champion. Thorpe could man handle a CR500 like no other. He was blazing fast on his HRC 500's. Bad attitude but fast racer.
@Dwight Charles yes was beaten by a 125 because he had no back brake. U ride that track on a 500 without a back break. You would have been pulled out the trees in the distance.
Thorpe was not a dirty rider and did not take other riders out. He was respectful to others.
The good old days🤟🏻👅
i was there that day
Thorpe, Ward and Leisk represented their respective nations at this track in the 1985 Des Nations as well.
Beautiful stuff!
