      Yes . I thought the battery was dead. It happens in old toys that people collect for years and years. They forget to take out the batteries and the toys lose a lot of their value.

    My Uncle actually used an iPhone 3G from about 2008 until 2016 when he finally got an iPhone 7. I was amazed that he got that much usage out of it, I'm assuming halfway through using it he couldn't really use it for most smartphone tasks and just used it as a normal phone, but he really did get nearly a decade of usage out of it.

      @zumuvtuber 2 года назад +1

      @@TimurTripp2 I know a lot of people agree with you on that, but I respectfully disagree. While the 5/5S have some design aspects that I like, certain details like the camera being off-centre from the corner radius for example (the distance to the side is larger than the distance to the top) makes the design not as great for me personally.

    I had both a black 8GB 3G and a white 16GB 3GS back in the day. I only had the 3G for a few months before upgrading to the 3GS but fondly remember being mind blown at the capabilities of the devices. Though they were limited and slow (especially the 3G), the ability to connect to virtually any social media, most websites, and have apps to download was amazing. Because of the 3G networking I was finally able to use the internet in my rural house much easier, and I found myself preferring it over the junk usb hotspots of the day. The lifecycles of these devices were really amazing too. At a time when a smartphone was totally outdated in a year to two max, the 3GS got three full years of software updates to the latest version. The was virtually unheard of by any competitors. This even an advantage over the iPod touch which charged $9.99 for updates before iOS 4.

    Wow that brings me so much memories with this phone, it feels like I’m back on 2009 unboxing my iPhone 3GS and I remember how incredible it smells inside the box like a brand new apple device, actually new devices have another smell soo much less stronger. That was the last iPhone with the incluidos microfiber cloth, it became too expensive for apple to incluido one in each device that they stopped doing it, the idea was replacing it for a Bluetooth free hands speaker, but it was so terrible and uncomfortable to use that they didn’t continued with that accessory too.

    Wow! Thanks for the flashback. I stood on line in Old Towne Pasadena, CA to get my first ever iPhone, the 3G. I stood there in the early days so the line wasn’t a mile long just the end of the block. It was black and max memory of the time, 64GB, I think? All we had then was Cingular/AT&T as they were transitioning then. I think it initially said Cingular then switched with an update later. I knew you had a late run 3G and maybe some eagle-eyed commenters mentioned this too. There’s a green dot on the power brick. That’s the fixed one. I had the original and got it replaced at an Apple Store later. I’m surprised it can still run on other than WiFi. Thanks for the memories Luke. I forgot about the OG Apple Cloth!

    My first iPhone and first _new_ Apple product was iPhone 3G that I bought in 2008. It was a huge game changer for me because I could actually move the app icons around and customise the screen to my whim. After four years of putting up with its excruciatingly slow performance, I traded up for iPhone 4 in 2010. I gave my father my iPhone 3G, and it took him a while to get the gist of "tapping", "touching", "touching and holding", etc.

    Pro tip: when searching for sealed vintage apple products, or sealed products in general, ask the seller for pictures of the plastic seals around tne box, messy seals that aren't tight around the box and are crinkled are a sign that it's fake. Also, check the serial number on the box to make sure it hasn't been activated. If it has, it's a scam.

    If the activation servers are down, how did I manage to get my 3G to the homescreen by just connecting it to my PC?

    Cool video, I have an 18-year-old MP3 (creative jukebox) player with a 6gb hard drive still in its original packaging and one of the earliest digital cameras though I did use that quite a bit

    Hi Luke, I'd like to see a video reviewing the best emulators for old Mac games. What's a good way to play an old floppy of Oregon trail?
