Installing them on all 4 sides on my second box truck for my tile flooring installation business which requires us to haul skids of tile and 50lbs bags of concrete. After the results on my first truck I knew that this product I will use for as long as they manufacture it because for the price and the results are incredible ! Now, for my needs I have installed their Yellow edition which is the stiffest one and they have two more options for softer ride but stiffer than your stock once.
I had put them my truck, the ride had a weird bounce to the truck. So I took them off and went to airbags with autofill remote control compressor. Airbags are the way to go for me, With a Reese goose box. This way I can have my 50 gallon diesel tank in the bed with an extra 60 gallons of water when I boon dock. I also tow double with either a RZR or jet skis behind my RV.
Man, thanks to you two at WW! We have been in the market for a suspension kit for Ram 2500. We were getting really tired of the "porpoising" effect. We watched your video and I was totally impressed! BTW, the promo code saved us 15%!!! I am a disabled vet and congratulate you in your support of vets in need!!!
We just got the Sumo springs on our truck and double axle fifth wheel. We need all the help we can get as we're travelling from Key West, FL to Valdez, AK for a summer job! We need all the help we can get!!!
I have the front and rear on my '21 Tundra 2wd. I went with the blue this time and had yellow on my '02. The body lean has been fixed with the full kit. I like to corner and not feel like I'm about to flip over. TRD sway bars did little to help. Oh yeah, load handling benefit as well.
I have an independent suspension off road Caravan that is 3.1 tons with a 800 lbs hitch weight. Pulling with a Modified F150 and Sumo Springs is different than towing with 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Talking with my buddies the Sumo Springs actually make their larger trucks ride smoother. I think the stiffness on the 1/2 ton is a dynamic isolated to 1/2 tons. With the springs while towing my wind sway has been reduced and rear end dip and roll was eliminated completely ! Good RUclips Content!👍
The last time I had sumo springs in my truck, the ride seemed a lot harsher than without. We now have a new truck and I’m concerned about putting sumos on as we are part timers and we use our truck alone for about 70% of the time. We did put them in the rv but haven’t taken it out yet. Your video On the sumos for the trailer was why we put them on. Thank you!
I think the unhooked ride on the truck is smoother; especially when we hit speed bumps. We definitely love the ride when hitched up on both the RV and truck. Let us know how the ride goes when you take the RV out.
They help for sure and so glad your tire wear wasn't there fault. Someone mentioned air bags and to be honest that would be my 1st choice...on the truck any way. When we get our truck it will have to have air bag suspension. But on the Rig , my opinion is it looks like it's the next best thing to independent suspension 🙂🙂‼️
That is cool the Sumo Springs for your truck like the Rv. Glad it works hooked up to the Rv as well as not hooked up. That pretty cool you were able to film it. I should let my brother know about the Sumo Springs for his business trucks and his truck he drives. Thank you Dustin and Leslie! Great video!
Good video glad it worked out talking about ride just a little info for y’all we were experiencing a rough ride on 14’ f250 89,000 miles and determine the rubber cab mounts which there are eight of pretty well worn out and I replaced them and made big difference on the ride something to consider
It would definitely help if you measured in the same place pre and post sumo installation. There’s nearly an inch difference between your two different spots.
I put them on my Ram last year and it has been great for my Arctic Fox truck bed camper. I have the front Sumos but haven't installed them yet. The installation looks pretty simple but I would love to see a video on the installation of the front Sumos.
Man on man. I needs these for my squat. I have the dickens of a time to get up. Lol. But for real these look amazing and will definitely go and look to see if they have for my old beast. Always love the fallen hero Appreciate you guys. Much love
The Sumo Springs on my tow vehicle, truck work great! But! The ride when towing and the Sumo Springs are engaged is a bit more harsh! It's worth the better handling though!
Nice, I wish that I had gotten these for my family 3500 but I went with the Timbren, too bad I can't change it. I am going to install them on my motorhome though.
Wish i had seen this before i installed Timbrens on my GMC Denali. Don't get me wrong, the Timbrens were a major improvement over the stock bump stops, but these look like they would lessen the squat I still have.
When installing my sumu springs on the rear axle, the same type only black, the bottom spring is not canted forward the way yours are, but rant it is straight up and down and offset towards the back of the truck... which doesn't seem right to be at all. I am woried they top and bottom springs wont engage each other properly. But I suppose only time will tell. I will comment again at a later time when I see how they work under a load, and whether or not they engage properly.
No mention of the actual weight on the rear axle or what the axle ratings are. If you are constantly on the OEM stops, (even the gizmo stops), when towing there is a good chance you are over the axle rating. What about the tire ratings? A properly set-up rig will not need any of the after-market gizmos. Disclaimer, only 37 years of RV towing. "You don't know where you've been until you leave" 👍
Did you notice a difference in the RV on travel days? Did the items in the RV not jiggle around as much? Did they stay more in place? It looks like a more smooth ride for both.
Absolutely noticed a difference! Our stuff hardly moves. Dustin left a water bottle on his nightstand on our last move day, and it was still standing on the nightstand when we got to the new spot 😊 I stress so much less now 😁
Ho not that you have expert knowledge and you are sponsored by them but there are several RV fifth wheel owners that have experienced frame damage, bending etc, that the shops are blaming the sumo springs for. They seem to be that I could find all lippert frames with many Grand Design, though not exclusively. I have not received a response from sumo springs and don’t really expect to. Thanks.
I have only heard of one potential issue and that was with Larry and Alice from Downsizing Makes Cents. I spoke to Larry. He said he had a conversation with Sumo Springs and after speaking, he agrees with the Engineers at Sumo Springs. The conclusion was the frame issue he had was from a turn off of a drop off on the side of the road that bent the frame. Is was a coincidence that the frame bent where the Sumo Springs were mounted.
@@suryavaraman.4277 Had my air bags for going on 5 years, ummm still no leak! I have Sumo springs on my fifth wheel and they are great, but the air bags on the truck are just better simply because I can adjust the ride height by controlling the air pressure for every different load or no load, can you do that with the sumo springs?
Why don’t these fuckers that manufacture these vehicles and box trucks put appropriate bump stops right off the bat. Just bought a new $55k box truck and you would think they would take into consideration that people might haul heavy loads and install heavy duty stop right away
ok few things I don't understand? how would something that isn't designed to affect lift height in any way affect lift height? That makes zero sense. Also you were 9" before down to 6" that's 3". If these sumo springs did somehow give you a lift (which it didn't you measured differently after the install), you were at 10" prior and dropped to 8" that's still 2" of squat so really you gained 1" over factory squat. Tell me you're sponsored by a company without telling me you're sponsored by a company.
I have them on the front of my 2000 tundra. Yes, they do have a bounce to them but reduce nose dive a lot. HOWEVER…… they do NOT fit from the factory. To do them in (with the vehicle jacked up and tire off the ground) I had to remove 2/3rd of the installation screw. Then when lowered, the spring was already damn near 50% compressed. To remedy this. I cut off off one layer (donut) of the spring and the when the truck is lowered back to the ground it only touches the control just a little bit and basically no compression. So….sumo needs to redesign this for the 2000-2006 tundra because since doing this to make them actually work correctly I voided the warranty and considering how much these things cost (which I know were not that expensive to mass produce) this fitment problem should not be an issue and voiding the warranty to make them fit is really just total bullshhitt.

Thankyoooooooo

We have a class c just under max weight. Installed yellow sumosprings in back blue up front. World of difference.

Thanks for the video. I really appreciate your spouse input. What shocks do you have on your truck? Do you recommend Bilstein 5100?
I'm not exactly sure what kind of shocks we have.

You said it will be canted a little bit before you put on the load. So why would your rear raised one inch after the installation? Sorry I'm confused.
Sorry. I'm not sure I understand your question.
Hey guys…what is your pin weight?
Also, it appears the sumosprings touch even when unloaded…right?
I'm not sure of the exact pin weight. The Sumo Springs stay in contact with the frame all of the time unless the ground is pretty uneven.
Still 100% good with the Sumo’s after a year?

We have a regular bed (6.5ft) and yes it handles 90° turns well. We have a slider hitch which helps with all that.
