I prefer YT Music because you can get user uploaded stuff like instrumentals, remix's, user made music, live performances and unreleased tracks. As well as it comes with RUclips premium.
Same! Used Spotify for years but I just switched earlier to RUclips Music because it's more affordable. I used to have both RUclips Premium and Spotify Premium and that costs me approximately 10 dollars per month.
When comes to the pricing, RUclips music also comes with RUclips premium(no ad, download, YT original) and Google play music. A pretty good deal i guess?
Its also easier to find music on RUclips than Spotify. You can just type some of the lyrics of the song you want and RUclips will most likely find it. Can't do that on Spotify

Actually, no. You can get Hulu and Showtime with Spotify premium if you are a student for only $5 a month. Even disregarding the student pricing, Spotify has just been out for longer and thus is far more refined and polished, in addition to having a larger catalog.
I personally like underground rappers and I find that you can only find them on SoundCloud or RUclips Music so that is the main reason I have RUclips music premium.
Main pros of why I use YT : 1. More variety of artists. You can discover more underground or non-mainstream artsists 2. Live-performances, instrumentals, remixes The only major con I have with YT is something that spotify offers which is the "like" feature. On spotify, when you like mulitple songs from an artist, that will automatically create an artist playlist for you with all the songs you liked in sequence of the albums they are under. YT has no feature like this. Instead it shows all under one "Liked songs" playlist. You'll have to manually create playlists for each genre/artist which can be a hassle but for myself I can tolerate that.
The only things I don’t like of YT music is the Library System is a mess. Randomly removes my songs added to a playlist. Changes certain songs of mine to one with the same name but different artists.
Other pros for each platform: RUclips music has those super rare 80s/90s underground House Music classics that Spotify will never have. Spotify has integration with Amazon Echo devices so I can play a music across several devices simultaneously. Spotify also has integration with Shazam which I use quite often.
I use both.. 60% of the time Spotify , 30% RUclips Music, 8% SoundCloud, 2% MixCloud ( i pay for Spotify and YT music, I pay $3 a month to support a DJ I really like on MixCloud.)
After comparing several songs back to back, face to face on RUclips Music vs Spotify vs Tidal, I noticed that RUclips Music has a louder volume and better EQ sound quality than either Spotify or Tidal. just my honest opinion. I've been playing guitar and dialing EQ settings on my instruments and equipment for 5 years and I could honestly swear that I think RUclips Music has clearer highs and punchier bass with a mid range scoop that isn't too severe- it's just nuanced, and it really lets the speaker kick loud enough. but again, just my opinion.
I have RUclips Music, I like it the best. Love the fact that u can find full live concerts to add to ur playlist and can create a music list that u can listen to offline.
With the Your Mixtape playlist, it’s randomizes, when you click on the playlist you get a list of music, that you like and could potentially like, but after you click out and click back in, it gives you another random set of your favorite and potentially likable music. Edit: I’m talking about RUclips music
RUclips music is a better deal if you pay for Premium. The pros of premium are just insane when you get used to having it. However, Spotify has the social factor and most people share Spotify playlists not RUclips music playlists, especially during social gatherings. So I'd say if it's just for you, get RUclips premium. But if you're more of a social person and love sharing music, go with Spotify.
Well I prefer YM algorithm it really give u more unique music. Also I can use mix of hours in one playback. For radio just play radio of your Artist that u want. And the thing I love the most about YM is the interface when u can double tap to move on your playback 10/15s (as u wish in the settings, also 5/20/30/60s) back and forward! And of course you got all the music in the world ☺️
I am using RUclips music because I can add music videos of my native language in my playlist. I speak kokborok and listen to kokborok songs very often, they don't upload it on spotify.
I dominantly use Spotify because of the recommendation algorithm and seamless playing. However I also love RUclips music because it bundles up with RUclips premium and Google play music but the YTmusic app still needs a lot of work in terms of integrating the interface. Also I subscribe to Apple music because its way better to navigate through artists and albums and offline playing is better. Plus I live in China and Apple music is $1.5 a month so why not🤷🏾♂️
@@CharlesCleyn definitely. I see it surpassing the competition. But with google it might take some time considering that they have way bigger projects and that they always kill off projects midway
RUclips is amazing for searching songs in another language. Can’t live without it. Sadly haven’t use other apps cause youtube is already so dame good already.
I like YT Music more because it's connected to YT. There's also user uploads, remix's and there are multiple versions of a song, etc. It's basically just YT but only music - this is great because it has YT's search power, like you can just type in a lyric of a song. Just needs improvements, like the fact that you have to add songs to a playlist one by one is annoying.
I only wish you could be more organized on YT Music. I like Spotify because I can organize things in folders. Playlists turn into a mess, you can't keep them in A-Z order, they order them by last saved.
Ok so basically I listen to music non stop. Either on my phone or my cars stereo. I have both spotify and you tube music. For my taste when listening in my car RUclips music sound quality is higher then spotify. The bass in much more punchier and the high are very high. The rumble off the bass in loud. Spotify on the other hand not so good. I believe 320 kpbs on spotify while 256 kpbs on RUclips music. But from what I hear this isn't true. So I believe RUclips has better sound quality. More choice as far as mixes. For example clear bandit music .we have 6 different remixes of a song. While spotify only has the original and maybe on remix of the a song. So I believe RUclips music is more value for the money. This is coming from a 4 year spotify user.
I really like the Spotify radio algorithm, sometimes I just went through a deep rabbit hole with the radio system in Spotify, it's like reading through Wikipedia. At some point, you were just reading through some documented stuff and at the end somehow you ended up reading about cats for some reason. It's how I discover new artists that I have never hear about. On the other hand, RUclips Music doesn't generate its Radio features really well like Spotify. They do sometimes play other artists, but when you list through the queue list, you can see that they just list up the same artist on the same album or they generate a different kind of album for that particular artist. For example, if I put up a radio for Chemical Romance, at some point you might hear Green Day played for a while, and the next song quickly jump back to Chemical Romance. I'm currently on RUclips Premium right now. I'm still considering changing back to Spotify. But I'm been getting used to YT music for now. Plus you get ad-free videos from watching RUclips. What's not to like about that. I've been seeing some improvement in YT Music. We'll just have to see in the near future what they might have to offer.
It's cool that you've started to see improvements to YT music already. I agree that I think YT music will start to have even more great features come in over the next few years. More tough competition for Apple Music and Spotify!
I started with youtube music, and only recently changed over to Spotify, I still use youtube music for all of my favourite songs that are absent on Spotify. But my main platform is Spotify cause of all of its features
For those wondering about cross platform control and compatibility with smart speakers: Spotify Connect allows you to listen on one device and control your media through your Alexa app, desktop, and/or mobile Spotify client(s). You can also 'Cast' to a Google smart speaker from any Spotify client, allowing you to control the media through Google Home & the client itself. In comparison, YT Music only supports 'Cast,' which makes sense considering both are Google products. You cannot configure YT Music directly for use with Alexa-powered devices, which also makes sense considering they are two tech giants in competition, with each offering their own streaming service. The workaround for this is using your Alexa-powered device as a Bluetooth speaker for use with YT Music (or any other media on the playback device that is to be paired). There are guides online that detail how to set that up. Although this is a viable alternative, it has its caveats and is something I (personally) would not want to do. For me, the decision to stay with Spotify is based on the devices I own. Spotify is compatible with Google Home & Alexa devices, with cross-platform control and an intuitive interface. As much as I want to give YT Music a chance, I am not willing to pay for another service due to streaming restrictions on devices that are not compatible with Google Cast. I hope this helped, and thank you Charles for this excellent comparison.
I believe Spotify premium costs more than RUclips premium that comes with RUclips music. As a single consumer who cares about music diversity and uses youtube a lot and doesn't want to see ads, Spotify seems like a waste of money, not to mention it doesn't have a lot of music that I like. If I want quality music I just buy a digital version or a CD.
I like RUclips music because it has not only normal mainstream music but also millions of individual creators and ton of music themes and Anime openings, endings,OSTs etc... And SoundCloud is good as well, so I'm going with YT music and sound cloud and ad version of spotify just in case 😅.
I do most of my listening on YT music but interestingly RUclips is better for live performances and old footage from TV programs etc. Ref. YT music discovery; I am as likely to listen to Bikini Kill as the Seekers and discovery will react but if I play Carlos Gardel I don't get offered more Tango.
@@CharlesCleyn Its more applicable to dance music, but instead of having a minute (or 30 seconds) of intro and outro each, and about a minute drop Spotify will have just the radio edit which has no intro/outro and a shorter drop segment. Like Paige below, I've been with Spotify for years, but am about to move because youtube premium (£12pm ) *includes* youtube music which definitely makes it a much better deal overall.
The MOST important thing in a comparison between Music streaming services is their Audio Quality. Yet that wasn't even mentioned. Would have been a much better comparison had that point been included.
@@CharlesCleyn just get adblocker on youtube if you watch videos on a browser, and listen to spotify premium on your phone, seems like it's more convenient and it's investing a lot on quality music creators/podcasters. They offered Joe Rogan a 100 million dollar deal, which ultimately made me join the spotify side.
i'm pretty new to trying youtube premium, but already love the no ads for ALL of youtube . But one thing I haven't figured out yet is if YT Music has the nice exercise options like spotify does. I like being able to control the candence to match running speed a LOT a
I have both, but I'm trying to eliminate duplications or broad overlaps in paid subscriptions for financial reasons. Thank you for an excellent evaluation! Definitely facilitates my decision-making process!
You get more with RUclips's premium service. You can browse through your phone while RUclips is playing the background. You can also lock your phone and listen to a video or music from RUclips. Yes, they have the same monthly price tag, but you get more with RUclips.
Spotify is missing songs frome some smaller countries less famous artists. For example i like Bulgarian rock from the 90s and that is missing on Spotify. Also some older artists that don't perform anymore. That is why i prefer RUclips music. And in the category "discover new music" i think it is a tie. So i prefer RUclips music just for the extra songs. The extra features on Spotify aren't that appealing to me, i don't use them that much. But i guess is something that is a subjective preference at the end
been using Spotify since 2014 and I don't want to let them go because of RUclips Premium! I haven't tried that RUclips Premium, and they always gave pop-ups to subscribe to them and they offered one-month free trial. Maybe in the future I might change my mind and maybe switch to RUclips Premium. Maybe. haha but thanks for the honest feedback/comparison!
Only update YTMusic needs is a better interface with not hiding the repeat or shuffle button. It’s really annoying having to turn that on every time I use the app. Overall I love YTMusic 🤘🏽
Huge oversight not mentioning that RUclips Premium is included in the RUclips music subscription. For those that watch a lot of RUclips, that is a game changer and something Spotify just can't compete with.
did I not mention that? I'm sure i must have or at least I mentioned it on my entire review of youtube music here: ruclips.net/video/eiEE-s_3g-g/видео.html
As of MAY 2020, many SPOTIFY subscribers are no longer able to see the APPEARS ON Section on their mobile OR desktop apps. The SPOTIFY web browser ONLY has 50 titles visible. There are plenty of complaints on the Spotify website forums AND on twitter. They are avoiding the issue, pretty much. They don't want to pay for music streams as much as before. They are hurting the artists. Actually, they are BETRAYING the artists
Charles Cleyn well no at the end of the day you’re getting 2 services instead of just one. RUclips Premium has downloads for your favorite music and videos and no ads for music and videos which helps when your watching long movies and there’s a ad every 15-20 minutes
Charles Cleyn yes. If you get yt premium it includes originals and music with no ads on the youtube platform. It’s a better deal if you watch a lot of videos on mobile. I think the best is to go for a family plan as it has a better value and you can share with friends
On RUclips music, the Google assistant won't play from your transfered library. Regardless of your phrasing, it will always stream a random playlist. Basically, you can't even use voice commands to circumvent the shifty U.I. when you want to play the music that you paid for.
Changed to yt music, mainly bc I get yt premium with it too. And that is a deal breaker for me, bc I hate ads and now double ads on yt. especially on phones where u cant have adblocker. And at the same time supp the youtuber I watch. Also premium viewers give more money to the youtuber than the ones who watch the ads. So its all around better deal, and the features will come eventually since yt music is quite new.
I love RUclips Music... there are video songs, audio songs, cover songs, instrumental versions uploaded by common people... so much more to explore plus RUclips Premium that's ad free throughout youtube, Plays videos or audios in the background and that's all for 129 INR (1.8 USD), a months Really I feel those are paying for any other music streaming service is really ignorant fool, when there's RUclips Premium
It all makes sense where youre coming from but I tend to choose youtube music over spotify mainly because as a mobile user spotify will always shuffle your music if you don't have premium and as you may tell, I don't pay for premium yet.
I've had RUclips Premium already for about a year. I just found out RUclips Premium comes with RUclips Music. It even has a bigger library than spotify... Been draining money away all year... Goodbye Spotify🙂
The only true issue with RUclips music is the Quality of audio files can vary. For example I setup a mixtape full of sabbath, ccr, etc and some of those songs were uploaded like 10 years ago. So the mixing and stereo wasn’t that great. Lots of compression because they’re technically videos instead of audio files like spotify.
@@CharlesCleyn That’s all I’ve used RUclips music on. It’s truly a mixed bag. Any older songs you lookup or songs added by random youtubers years ago can sometimes sound like crap. Especially with bass. I’ll be in my car and lookup something like “Bitch” by Tech N9ne and the bass is nonexistent but I play the version on Vimeo or whatever and it’s just fine.
RUclips Music has had the radio feature since the beginning but comes up through searching a specific Artist or genre that I've seen and used. Maybe that's still a drawback in a UI difference from Spotify where you have a library of Radio Stations to choose from upfront vs being singled out based in what/who you searched for on YT Music.
@@zackfeinberg5113 Same here. The bitrate is lower but how come it sounds so much better. It makes my standard sound system in my car sound like it's BOSE or somethin! Even Tidal could not do this. What gives?
I strongly like and use Google products but I must admit that even after a couple of serious tries I always go back to Spotify. It is difficult to explain but I don't feel comfortable with YTM interface. When I search for a song I find it difficult to differentiate between a video, a song or whatever. Specially on the road it is not easy to quickly pick up what you want. In addition, the catalog for oldies, classics and non-trendy stuff seems inferior than Spotify. I have encountered many cases in which a song is in Spotify but not in YTM.
youtube has much more og songs because when i search voracity on spotify it pops some remixes not the og however when i search the same thing on yt music i instantly found the og song
I have Spotify and many songs I like aren't available in either platform as actual music albums, but are available as official album playlists on RUclips. Since YT Music can make use of its videos, I can now have can have access to those songs. All the Lakeside, Shalamar, Midnight Star albums are on RUclips, so that's the main reason I'm switching to YT Music.
@@CharlesCleyn Well, I haven't switched just yet, but, as you say, the overall design of Spotify is more polished and thought out. I have a question: can you use YT Music in your car via bluetooth (without Android Auto or Apple CarPlay)?
They must add yt music to PlayStation, Xbox and to every platform for full experience. If this happens I reckon a lot of people on Spotify will switch to Yt music because it’s more better.
the main problem I have with you tube music is only getting the live version of certain songs case in point the eagles. I have always preferred studio versions if I want to hear live music I'll go to a concert. really listening to live music annoys me with al the stupid clapping. Admittedly most you tube music searches give you the studio version not the live one so I'll stay with it for the moment. Also I wish independent artists well but I have no interest whatsoever in them my final point I succeeded in copying my play music library to you tube music but if I shazam a tune I can upload it to playmusic but cant add it to my you tube music library either directly from shazam or from play music library. Hopefully when play music ceases forever that uploading from shazam to you tube music will be possible like one can from spotify apple music etc
I like YT because it has knows my music interests. YT also recommends music according to my library and playlist. YT music categorize my music and and organize it in group mixes. I've used Spotify in the past. My choice is RUclips.
one issue i found with youtube music is that it takes most/all the music from youtuber by filtering out ‘non-music’ and sometimes the music from youtube isn’t moved to youtube music (it’s obvious when an artist who uploads mainly songs only, but only has half the songs on youtube music, however, this was a while ago and it might of changed)
It is interesting to see that the algorithm for Spotify has worked so well for everyone else. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that Spotify does a terrible job of recommending new music to me.
@@CharlesCleyn Yeah, I use Spotify frequently, and my recommendations are usually songs/albums I have recently listened to or music from artists I haven't listened to in months. They do have new recommendations sprinkled here or there, but it is typically not anything I end up liking. I've started the free trial of RUclips Music Premium based on your feedback from this video as well as your other recent video of the service, so I am excited to see how my experience will be.
Thank you for the well thought out comparison, the details between the two companies. I currently have the no advertisements on RUclips which comes with RUclips music. Don't want to pay additional money for spotify.
Spotify beats out RUclips music for fans of classical music. I get much more accurate results searching composer-conductor whereas often albums are missing in RUclips music despite the albums being available on the platform. Spotify also seems to have more recordings available that RUclips music doesn't have. So for classical music fans, Spotify is the better choice between these two. I know there are some other streaming services that cater specifically to the classical music crowd, but Spotify is nice in that I can also listen to popular music along with my orchestral favorites.
What if you don't have RUclips Music yet but you already have a giant list (600 something songs) of music saved in a private RUclips playlist that you listen to? Can you transfer that whole playlist over to RUclips Music once you get it, or would you have to manually look up and add each song in?
YT music does have a radio feature? You can Access it by choosing an artist and clicking radio-button. Then it tries to find similar music and plays it forever. I use radio feature to discover new music.
I switched to Google team about 3 years (GPM first) ago due to some issues with spotify app. The only thing that really really missed was spotify connect kind of feature. being able to control music from any device is awesome. Other than that I think they are both great services, though YTM is a bit more repetitive when discovering or completely misses the target, there is no middle ground yet. I'm sure they will get there. We are talking about one the best companies in the world doing AI algorithms and finding out what you want. You can upload your own music to youtube music (very recent feature to deprecate GPM) which is something I think spotify will never have.
I still use RUclips Music, but one thing that is still irritating me is the shuffle button is broken AF for years and they don't even bother to fix it despite many people are already complained!
I have been bouncing between Spotify and Apple Music for years if you like 50s-90s music I just realized RUclips Music is the best there are so many rare band albums that you can not find on either of those platform simply because there is no red tape anyone can upload the music!
I use Spotify and RUclips (not RUclips Music). I don't like that Spotify doesn't have a lot of stuff that RUclips has like instrumentals or nightcore and other song variations. I think that RUclips is way better at that but Spotify has those discovery playlist and all the settings that can make the experience on Spotify better. That's why I'm using both. If Spotify would also have song variations and official music videos (actual videos, not just music) I would only use Spotify. I think that it sucks that I have to alternate between them in order to get the experience that I want
Spotify punishes you less for not paying their subscription but I'd manage with my screen turned un. It kills my battery but is worth listening to fan made music.
2 major things you forgot to mention.First sound quality and second is how you stream it to your sound system. There are a number of streaming devices out there and some very good ones that support Spotify and the Spotify app on your phone can control the app on your desk top. With RUclips music you are stuck with the app on your phone and the app on your desk top. But the phone can not control your desktop app.I can not find a single streaming device that supports RUclips music. Maybe somebody who reads this could help me.
First thing first, even before we go to features or sound quality, we want the songs to be there . . .You Tube Music has those live performances and different versions. It's a shame one get's to hear the poor version/rendition as the only option available on Spotify or Amazon music. . . I thought the glorified algorithm would make a difference but I doubt Spotify would beat Google on software engineering . . .Features are not my top priority (less is more), maybe it's just me but You Tube music is the clear winner in my mind.

You'll have to manually create playlists for each genre/artist which can be a hassle but for myself I can tolerate that.
Thanks for your thoughts!
Tes on Spotify I like RUclips not but Spotify has your own mixes whixh can go on for hours
Another point for YT Music: There are less ads than there are on Spotify for the free membership
That's interesting as they say spotify has better sound quality
I COMPLETELY agree!!! I totally think RUclips sounds better.
I have RUclips Music, I like it the best. Love the fact that u can find full live concerts to add to ur playlist and can create a music list that u can listen to offline.
RUclips music has been great for a year, but it has improved, an updated comparison could be useful ! Great vid nonetheless
yes, definitely think YT is improving the fastest..
And of course you got all the music in the world ☺️
I also think the next few years will be really big for YT music since they're only just beginning really.. what do you think Roy?
I am using RUclips music because I can add music videos of my native language in my playlist. I speak kokborok and listen to kokborok songs very often, they don't upload it on spotify.
@Ken Milton Tam-og well, that's the only catchy and circle shaped icon I found.
go to youtube music pick an artist then click on the 3 vertical dots on the upper right corner and select creat rradio station
Thanks for this great tip! Do you use the radio feature a lot?
I dominantly use Spotify because of the recommendation algorithm and seamless playing. However I also love RUclips music because it bundles up with RUclips premium and Google play music but the YTmusic app still needs a lot of work in terms of integrating the interface.
Also I subscribe to Apple music because its way better to navigate through artists and albums and offline playing is better. Plus I live in China and Apple music is $1.5 a month so why not🤷🏾♂️
Good point, I think YT music will surpass in a few years. What do you think?
@@CharlesCleyn definitely. I see it surpassing the competition. But with google it might take some time considering that they have way bigger projects and that they always kill off projects midway
@@shimeih2287 Great point, ya such a big ship to steer and it takes a long time for them to release bigger projects.
YT Music definitely needs a search function for the library very helpful if you a vast collection of artists, albums & playlists ect.
This is coming from a 4 year spotify user.
thanks for your thoughts!
I felt that difference too, mainly on the bass deepness and highs range. Highly dynamic musics get killed on Spotify.
@@rwbie The bitrate doesn't tell all the story when YT Music uses AAC that some people says that is better than Vorbis codec.
I still like RUclips music more you can watch old live performances
That’s a great thing about RUclips music

Yes !
"Why I use YT Music"
Me: *searches woppapagagganga style*
Spotify: "What the hell was that?!"
YT Music: "You mean, Gangnam Style?"
I started with youtube music, and only recently changed over to Spotify, I still use youtube music for all of my favourite songs that are absent on Spotify. But my main platform is Spotify cause of all of its features
Is it the independent music that you like on YT music that is missing from Spotify?
what feautures are on spotify but not YT Music? I was thining of switching hte opposite way
Video has mentioned the biggest reason I decided next to RUclips. The search engine has offer much better music from first time than Spotify ever.
And it will only get better and better
For those wondering about cross platform control and compatibility with smart speakers:
Spotify Connect allows you to listen on one device and control your media through your Alexa app, desktop, and/or mobile Spotify client(s).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and giving more context!
And SoundCloud is good as well, so I'm going with YT music and sound cloud and ad version of spotify just in case 😅.
thanks for these thoughts!
RUclips music has user uploaded songs so it’s easier to find stuff, Spotify also generally (I can’t seem to find) doesn’t have extended mixes.
What do you mean by extended mixes?
@@CharlesCleyn Its more applicable to dance music, but instead of having a minute (or 30 seconds) of intro and outro each, and about a minute drop Spotify will have just the radio edit which has no intro/outro and a shorter drop segment. Songs could go from 6+ minutes down to 4.
for example: compare these 2 songs, the radio edit vs the extended mix.

I agree - for now Spotify is the best. Crossfade is the number one feature i love, it puzzles me as to why apple and youtube don't have crossfade
I know, I'm also very surprised. Maybe it's a technical issue on their end
What l don't like about YT music, I listen to a lot of mellow songs. I'm not sure how I can find more mainstream, sociable songs easily
The MOST important thing in a comparison between Music streaming services is their Audio Quality. Yet that wasn't even mentioned. Would have been a much better comparison had that point been included.
in your opinion which one has the better audio quality ?
The quality is the same, depend to the artists
Thoughtfully done. Thank you.
I watch much more YT than Hulu, so I'm thinking of ending my 5 year relationship with Spotify😥
I find I watch much more youtube too
@@CharlesCleyn just get adblocker on youtube if you watch videos on a browser, and listen to spotify premium on your phone, seems like it's more convenient and it's investing a lot on quality music creators/podcasters.
I like being able to control the candence to match running speed a LOT a
good points!
Do you mean like you can get more independent music? That's true and one of the features I like about youtube music
You're welcome!
RUclips music is my choice simply for it removing all ads from youtube
Only update YTMusic needs is a better interface with not hiding the repeat or shuffle button. It’s really annoying having to turn that on every time I use the app. Overall I love YTMusic 🤘🏽
Where is it hiding? I'm curious
Charles Cleyn under thee up next suggestion lol 🤔
Huge oversight not mentioning that RUclips Premium is included in the RUclips music subscription. For those that watch a lot of RUclips, that is a game changer and something Spotify just can't compete with.

There are plenty of complaints on the Spotify website forums AND on twitter. They are avoiding the issue, pretty much.
They don't want to pay for music streams as much as before. They are hurting the artists. Actually, they are BETRAYING the artists

Agree with Discovery Weekly of Spotify. Their recommendations sre spot on!

I love RUclips Music...
there are video songs, audio songs, cover songs, instrumental versions uploaded by common people...
so much more to explore
plus RUclips Premium that's ad free throughout youtube,

Thanks for your thoughts!
Lots of compression because they’re technically videos instead of audio files like spotify.
do you know if it’s worse on mobile to?

Spotify sounds so much better. I'm really frustrated with poor quality from YT making me lose my love for music. I really wish YT up their bitrate
funny I find YT music to sound much clearer and louder for some reason. I can’t figure out why.

I have Spotify and many songs I like aren't available in either platform as actual music albums, but are available as official album playlists on RUclips. Since YT Music can make use of its videos, I can now have can have access to those songs.
Also I wish independent artists well but I have no interest whatsoever in them
my final point I succeeded in copying my play music library to you tube music but if I shazam a tune I can upload it to playmusic but cant add it to my you tube music library either directly from shazam or from play music library. Hopefully when play music ceases forever that uploading from shazam to you tube music will be possible like one can from spotify apple music etc

one issue i found with youtube music is that it takes most/all the music from youtuber by filtering out ‘non-music’ and sometimes the music from youtube isn’t moved to youtube music (it’s obvious when an artist who uploads mainly songs only, but only has half the songs on youtube music, however, this was a while ago and it might of changed)

It is interesting to see that the algorithm for Spotify has worked so well for everyone else. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that Spotify does a terrible job of recommending new music to me.
interesting, good to hear feedback from the other angle, are you using the 'like', 'disklike', and 'follow' actions regularly?
@@CharlesCleyn Yeah, I use Spotify frequently, and my recommendations are usually songs/albums I have recently listened to or music from artists I haven't listened to in months.
Yes your playlists are transferred over which is nice
I prefer YT Music. Google just needs to get onboard with the others streaming services offering much higher quality bitrate.
I think one day they will
I chose youtube music because I listen to city pop which few songs are on spotify.
