    Coloured in South Africa isn't the same as the N word. We call each other coloured. The problem is the one drop rule in America. Also we know the history of black Americans they have portrayed their history many times in their movies.

    Black Americans think that Coloured equals black because in the context of American history,"Colored" was used as a derogatory term towards black people. So when Tyla called herself Coloured,they didn't understand that she was referring to herself as a racial group which is what multiethnic people are called not only in South Africa but across Southern Africa. Coloured people have the most genetic diversity in the world due to mixing of Indigenous Khoi people,black Bantu people,Malay,Dutch and Indian people across generations. That mixture produced Coloured people who then, because of apartheid,were only allowed to have relationships with each other because they were a distinct racial group from black,white and Indian and so their population grew. They are their own group of people with their own language and culture. Some Coloured people identify as both Coloured and black while others solely identity as Coloured or Cape Malay. Trevor Noah has explained this on The Breakfast Club so Charlemagne knew exactly what he was doing by asking Tyla to "educate him".

    Tyla is black. In the South African historical and political context, black refers to Indian, African and Coloured. When she said she's Coloured, she wasn't denying her blackness. She is Coloured and Black

      Stop spreading lies about staffnyoubhave linited knowledge of..in south africa coloureds are a separate race.and officially fill government forms as such.and I'm black south african

      Black does not refer to Indian,African and Coloured. Even when you fill in forms,Indian is its own racial group. So is black/African, white and Indian. And an Indian person would never be perceived as black nor would they tick the black or African box. They would tick Indian. They have African nationality but not ethnicity.

    Tobe said black Americans don't know where they come from and black Americans keep saying that we come from America and America is our home country because our ancestors built it. Love the shoe by the way I'm a huge afrobeats fan.

      No doubt blacks built America but I believe the convo was about tracing back the heritage back to the motherland but then I’ve got to admit that some blacks will also say ‘We ain’t Africans’ and that’s ok too. It’s a very nuisance conversation but apologies if you and/or anyone else was offended. Glad you enjoy afrobeats

      @@FOTBNetwork we don't need to trace it back to Africa to "know where we come from". America is the full answer.
      Just like Jamaica is the full answer for Jamaicans, Trinidad is the full answer for Trinidadians, and all the rest of the West Indian who come from the same slave trade that Black Americans come from.

    This is the outdated topic and is becoming more boring to listen to. It makes those who still entertain it looks like fools. Let it rest in peace.😅😅😅

    I don’t mean to be rude but wtf is wrong with this man you said you love Tems so you obviously knew her very much to love her, and same you boxed her as an afrobeat artist I am from Nigeria and I haven’t put Tems in an afrobeat category because I know she doesn’t do it

    • @FOTBNetwork
      @FOTBNetwork  2 месяца назад

      Yea he contradicted himself a lot but the thing is Non Nigerians associate Tems with afrobeats simply because she’s Nigerian, not really because of the music. They need to look beyond the heritage to understand that not every Nigerian does Afrobeats music but it comes with educating them
