I think the double bass work here is spectacular, I'd love to see more single kick songs with double kick as well as all the double kick songs with single kick. It's an interesting contrast.

I’m a new subscriber. Love you minimalist set up. Too many players have these massive kits. I play a four piece with ride, hats, and two crashes. It makes you more creative. Love your stuff keep up the good work.
Compared to this I have a relatively big setup(4 toms, 2 crash, right, china, splash) and I 100% agree. I kinda wish I focused more on my weak left hand instead of just give myself the illusion of variance with more opportunities to play with.
You got the right idea, Too many cymbals is a bad thing. If youre bored watching the GOAT i got some video too! haha
I like having 3 or 4 toms so you can get some funky tribal beats going.

I started playing about 2 years ago. Only played with 2 Tom's, hi hats and a ride because that's what I had, and since then I've stuck with it, I've tried adding a crash and it just makes me overplay everything.
Im not a great drummer by any stretch of the imagination but I feel that the lack of things to hit its making me find my own style, and it also makes you work harder with dinamics.
And I love that with a small kit I can setup near the front of the stage and not hide behind a mountain of drums, it feels more personal during a gig
