  • Compilation of fights with my solo brawling Tornado. Have so far managed to reach 26 killmarks on this Tornado, which is a pretty funny achievement for such an oddball brawling ship.

    Nice video! I have a Tornado like this fitted after you last video, but it feels uneasy going out into the FW zone with large guns to try and fight frigates, guess I have to man up.

      Part of the learning experience. The fundamentals are the same if you're flying a arty firetail or a 800mm tornado. Scram kite whatever you're fighting and control range and you'll start getting hits. If you have access to nullsec, that can also be a decent place to learn since pretty much everything there is fit with MWD and you have total range control.

    great video. you're a much more experienced pilot in this strategy, but I've come up with a number of fits well that follow the same doctrine you lay out in the beginning of the video. Fly something that is well known for something (Tornado as a sniper, in my case the ferox as a fleet BC) and make it do something else. Not only do you get a ton of fights, but people make mistakes because the brain turns off because they "know" what you're flying.

    I love these videos, especially because they’re minmatar ships. I’m a noobro that just figured out how to make money so now it’s time to learn how to spend it on fun PvP. Appreciate the guidance.

    Do you think SOCT ships should have 0% base structure resist?
    At this point hull tank gnosis/praxis are the most cost effective hard tackle in the game and it's just not fun grinding down those ships

    • @stitchk2755
      @stitchk2755  3 года назад +2

      Hull tanking in general is a bit too strong across the board.
      For the SOCT ships specifically though, even just a nerf to their hull HP would be fine. The lore for them are based on "exploration" ships after all.

    Do you think swapping a rig to a tracking rig would be good? i have always had trouble tracking AB frigs with my dual web naga

    • @stitchk2755
      @stitchk2755  3 года назад +4

      AB frigs can always be a bit problematic and i don't think a rig would help enough. AB frigs are relatively rare to come across unless you're operating in only FW/Lowsec. Losing the extra hull tank hurts you ability to engage tougher stuff. I'd probably just rely on drop booster if you have an encounter with an AB frig. I had 1 fight against a succubus that was really good, but unfortunately my recording got corrupted. I also had another fight against an AB nergal that ended in a stalemate. Its normally just trying to manually move around to get hits (keeping at range doesn't work well in these situations) and also moving farther out, such as going to 10-13km and dropping scram. The benefit of moving farther away with double webs is you get a little more transversal and sometimes it fools them into thinking you're trying to leave and they'll spam approach, which then bumps up your application and you can finish them off.

    One question: you say ur getting transversal, but you are keeping at range... Transversal is what you get when orbiting a target.. right?

    • @stitchk2755
      @stitchk2755  3 года назад +2

      The proper term I should be using is transversal matching, since a "transversal" is a line drawn through 2 distinct points. I just got a little sloppy in the vernacular. Keeping at range allows you to stay in alignment of your target which improves your tracking.

    Just found your channel and really enjoying it, going to try som eof the fits out myself. May I ask if you can post the EFT fit in the description, or at list link the fit in some way as trying to copy it manually from screen with old eyes is difficult :)

    I've been watching your stuff for a while now because it's all very well explained and researched and I'm interested in learning about solo PVP (still newish to the game). Things is that I have this disease called Role player so I only stick to Amarr ships and it seems Amarr ships aren't exactly obvious for solo PVP much. You did a video on the Oracle but stated it was problematic, are there any other ships/builds that could work?

    • @Gmoney_Mcswaggins
      @Gmoney_Mcswaggins 3 года назад

      It honestly depends where you want to fight. This is a good guide to FW novice plex solo pvp: drive.google.com/file/d/0B0vcAdB68wBYWF8tVDc1U283alk/view. It's a little old, but still reliable. I'd recommend the tormentor if you're addicted to Amarr.

      @@Gmoney_Mcswaggins I'm really looking for null solo PVP although I'm getting my feet wet in low sec atm. But thank you.

    • @Gmoney_Mcswaggins
      @Gmoney_Mcswaggins 3 года назад

      @@xanthellus767 Well, the classic small amarr ship for null solo is the imperial navy slicer. It's a very tricky ship to fly, but can be very rewarding. Here's a solid video on it: ruclips.net/video/4UieJcWI-YM/видео.html

      100mn quad light beam harbinger is pretty good for brawling, especially around lowsec where you have to deal with AB frigs. This is my 100mn harb i've used before zkillboard.com/kill/60507487/
      Polarized navy aug is decent for surprising people w/ 800-900 dps and double medium neuts. Still gets reasonable EHP even when polarized because of the HP bonus. My fit: zkillboard.com/kill/62288378/
      Retributions are good frigs for kiting, i don't really recommend them for brawling though (2 mids makes it hard).
      100mn Maller can also sometimes get some fun fights against frigates and does ok dps. zkillboard.com/kill/68155592/
      T1 armageddon is probably amarr's best "solo" battleship since it has utility and you can fit missiles+drones+heavy neuts to make it handle a lot of situations.
      Nomen is still a good kiting platform, even if other ships do it better.
      Recently buffed heretic might have some uses in brawling, but probably kind of expensive for a destroyer in FW.
      Dragoon can be good in FW/LS against other frigs and AF if you lean into the neuts. Coercer is also strong, but lack of mids can sometimes be challenged (running with only web and no scram) or doing a kitey fit to make people chase you and hit them with full damage hoping to kill them before they get close.
      Amarr are certainly not the ideal race for solo'ing in, their ships often rely on support but are tanky. But there are a few ships that are usable.

    great advice about playing mind games by appearing to be fit a way you are not - I do this in my 800mm plate thorax by limiting my max speed , to appear i'm 1600mm plate
    then one overheated MWD cycle lets you pounce and quickly move above 2km/s
    I also do similar with a shield/rail nanorax fit but have trouble finding ideal targets because its a rather slow kiting ship compared to the meta ones, but you can still get some fights that way

      I must be weird because I like the hum. I like hiss too. Same way I like the imperfections of vinyl as opposed to digital music. Embrace the imperfections, feel better, and open your mind, I say, if you can.
