One random night when I was 28, in the course of a couple hours I experienced months, if not years worth of time with someone I know I loved with all my heart. One of the last scenes etched in my memory is when I laid beside her, touched her baby bump, felt the baby kick, looked up on her face and saw the most loving smile... then I woke up. I saw loved ones slowly withering away from cancer, I myself have been through sickness that made me scream from pain that felt like being flayed alive, but this single dream was still the most traumatic event of my entire life. A life that could have been, a life that never really happened, but still felt like it was taken away from me. I don't care how pathetic that sounds, I've lost a wife and a baby, and it still hurts 10 years later.
To say that this piece from "Inner Light" has special meaning for me would be the biggest understatement I can utter. So far I've considered the piano - flute duet from the episode "Lessons" the best version there could ever be. Your beautiful arrangement somehow has a more upbeat, hopeful tone, it's almost like it tries to console me. Thank you!
Wow, thanks a lot for sharing your personal experience. That's the reason why "The Inner Light" is my favorite episode of any Star Trek series... by the end of it, when Picard is telling the story of what he thought happened to him, but didn't really happen to him... I can't help but weep a little 💔

I've had those a couple of times in my life. Strikes me as what Guinan described being pulled from the Nexus was like. In the years since, I have tried to make my life as happy as those dreams. I think I've gotten close enough.
@@mrandmrsduquette1904 Like being pulled from the nexus is probably the best paralel I haven't considered yet making. Yea, it's exactly like that. But how do you step away from mourning something you never even had? What makes an experience less or more real, if it was still an experience you made?
Time is like a companion. That comes along with us on the journey. And reminds us to cherish every moment. Because it will never come again.
@@michaelhannett lately I feel more like Soren and though I would not let the stress of being stalked by time turn me so bitter as to inflict danger on others I do understand that since of the flame beginning to fade with far to much left to be done. It's painful when life turns time against one.

"Despite the great question as to whether there is life after earthly death, there are surprisingly few depictions of the possibilities.

Great heartfelt episode, but when they knew their planet was doomed, instead of just accepting it and creating this probe, why didn't they create spaceships and evacuate their planet and save as many of their people as they could?

One of the locations is the Lavender Fields in Brihuega - guadalajara (Spain). The olive grove is in front of some land we own near home (Madrid)
I was creative and amazed when I saw the olive trees, because I am now picking their fruits on my farm in northern Jordan. I love you all and may you always be protected by God
We were also picking the olives from our orchard 2 weeks ago 😄 Only 14 trees, but it was a lot of work hehehe... thank you for watching and best wishes for you too! ❤️
