Better then the fake unfaitful cast of the verlayans the gave us in the adaption. Theyre supposed to be copies of the targeryans. White pale fair skin with long beatiful silver blonde hair, instead they made them black...

This actually angered a lot of book reader when House of The Dragon aired. Just like what @teresecline4858 said, Rhaenys mother was Jocelyn Baratheon. Majority of the time a Baratheon marries into another house the member that is produced has the traditional Baratheon black hair(I personally think its because of the Durrandon blood). Princess Rhaenys inherited this trait as well. The show runners thought it would confuse the show only watchers if she was given her traditional look. Also they wanted to highlight that she was a member of house Targaryen and what better way than giving her the look.
Rhaenys having black hair and Rhaenyra Laenor's children having black hair makes the truth of their parentage even more interesting.
@@anonymous-cg4ot The Three Strong Boyz had brown hair and brown eyes with pug noses. None of them had black hair similar to Rhaenys or Borros or any of the other Baratheon family members.
I have to disagree with the Durrandon blood making the hair of Baratheons black, it was said the Orrys Baratheon, the bastard brother of Aegon the Conqueror, already had the strong black hair. It seams to come from that, in my opinion. @@NRV0

The showrunner said that It was to help the casual viewers differentiate the Velaryons from the Targaryens. Audiences would probably end up confusing characters and their alliances if both houses had pale white skin, purple eyes and silver/white hair.

In every adaptation of a game or book etc, they always make white characters black. Its unfaitful to they author and his intentions.
