About as subtle as the sledge hammer the 15th Doctor used to duplicate the TARDIS. 🙃

I'm currently 49 years old. I grew up with the notion of Red Nose Day. And It really used to be an event. Those were in the days when we had 4 and latterly, 5 TV channels. I'm not being unnecessarily cruel here. But I believe that since our viewing choices have become more fragmented and personalised, the notion of the BBC "event " has become outdated. We all used to come together around the TV in the spirit of national comradery. That is broadly because we didn't have any alternative choice back then. Today. We HAVE that choice. And we chose multichannel TV, streaming and unlimited content on demand. The likes of Blockbuster and Kodak failed to evolve and progress. And ultimately died. I truly believe that Red Nose day and the BBC are currently in the same boat. But rater than recognising that. They stick their head in the sand and hope the modern world is just a phase. It would be interesting to get a response to this post in ten years time and see how history played out. ps... I have donated a tenner to this years appeal because I have faith.

I used to - then he hosted an event for a company I used to work for and he did the same material he did from a stand up show I had on VHS from 1996! I was gobsmacked!! Plus he was very rude to our staff before he went on stage.
