  • About a week ago, we found our first tick on one of our dogs, and I was in a little bit of a panic until I discovered these two resources. No matter how diligent you are in using prevention and checking for them on your dog, the reality is that ticks are small and can be easy to miss on a hairy dog with dark hair. I lived in the city all my life until recently and never had to worry about ticks. Well, now I do and wanted to share some resources that have helped me.
What resources or info can you share? What tick prevention works for you?

I'm laughing, Denise, because I saw something about ticks and clicked the video out of curiosity without realizing it was you!! I was so startled when you appeared!! 😂
Just wanted to share that my own vet told me that she was seeing a lot of "breakthrough" tick bites with a particular flea and tick spot preventative they had long recommended and were now urging clients to switch to another brand; apparently, fleas and ticks can build resistance over time to the chemicals used. If a tick was able to latch on to one of your dogs and become engorged, which takes quite awhile, and was still alive, it might be worth asking your vet for advice (if you haven't already) on either sticking with or changing the preventive you're using.
Thanks for the identification apps info!! That first one was cool!!

Thank you! My dog is on prevention also, but I guess I need to check more often also.
Also, what wig are you wearing? Thnx!
