My grandma had a story like this.
When she was dating my grandpa she'd bake him some goods (because back in the day that's how you'd impress boys) but her older brother and his friends on the swim team would always eat them. So one day she baked two batches of cookies, one batch for my grandpa, one batch for her brother. Now you might be thinking that she was just making extra cookies because she wanted enough to give her boyfriend at the time, but the cookies she left out in the open and told her brother not to eat were full of laxitives! She happily went to the bath, and when she came back ALL THE LAXITIVE COOKIES WERE GONE. Her brother and all of his friends, I think around eight in total, had taken all the cookies and took them down the street to eat them without being caught. When they came back they asked her what she had done to the cookies and she said "I told you not to eat them, guess it's all your fault."
Even back in the fifties siblings were petty AF.

My kids were always accusing each other of things. One daughter showed me a deep bite mark on her arm, which she said her older sister did.
Only problem, the bite mark had no tooth marks from the front upper teeth. Which she just happened to be missing. Her sister had all her teeth. The kid bit herself. Hard.
And then got grounded for lying. Instant Karma. Was actually pretty hilarious.

My parents figured out the shift in the tones of our voices when we were faking that the one did something to the other. 🤣 There is a reason we thought our mom was a witch. Not because she was mean, just seemingly magical. 🤣🤣🤣
My son is 10 & still believes mom's have magic powers. Our living room & kitchen have a dividing wall & if he's in the kitchen getting a snack sometimes I'll mess with him. If he goes for a little bag of chips I'll say something like Idk how you can stand that flavor or hey bring me one too, but I don't want (whatever flavor he's holding). If it's too close to dinner he'll try to be stealthy & it always startles him when I'm behind a wall & suddenly say nope put the uncrustable back it's almost dinner time. He asks me every time, how do you know what I'm doing & I always say it's Mom magic. He simple has figured out yet that from the couch in the living room I can see him in the reflection of the sliding glass door that's in the kitchen.

My grandma had sent my uncle to clean up his bedroom floor while cooking and suddenly wondered what that sound was - oh, he was shoving all the legos etc under his bed - called up "Get everything back out from underneath that bed and put it away properly!"
He came running "Mom, how'd you see that?" "Don't you know mom's can see through walls and around corners?"
And the next day all his friends at school knew about moms' special abilities! ;D

We literally did this to our mom one year. My grandpa got her a ring with elephants, sje collects them, and he told me and my brother to find every bix size we could. Needless to say we to it to the extreme and when I say extreme I mean EXTREME, the final box was a refrigerator box and not a dorm fridge either although that was there too lmao she was pissed and we about pissed ourselves laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm working at a youth club / kids playground and many of the kids that come there daily have multiple siblings who come to us as well. We nearly have to tell them every day that hitting and bullying someone is not okay even when it's your sibling because whenever siblings are hitting each other, all the kids treat it like "that's family love" and they also say that when it's clearly no "fun" for at least one of the siblings. It weirded me out how normal it is to those kids that you just hit your sister and it's okay because she's your sister. Got reminded of this when you asked why abuse is accepted when it's family.
I lost my sister almost 2 years ago, but we could totally get on each other's last nerve, but gang up on anyone who wronged the other. Truly miss her (pretty sure she's laughing at me right now).
Charlotte, your story about your brother drinking your milk reminded me that I still have to get back at my older sister for drinking my drinks for YEARS.
I have 3 older siblings, and we all had our designated seats around the table (not that our parents assigned them, we just are all creatures of habit). Mine was between my mom and my sister, who is 5 years older than me. At some point, when my sister was in college, and would come home for the weekends, she started randomly reaching over and drinking whatever drink I had. The kicker is, I never noticed. I kind of get tunnel vision when I eat, I always eat super fast so that I can hurry and move on to whatever I have planned for after dinner. I've always been like this. Well, one day, I finished eating, and went to drink from the glass of water, but realized it was empty. I knew for a fact that I hadn't had any of it, so where the hell did it go?! Then my sister started laughing, as did both our older brothers. My parents were as oblivious as me, but once they figured out what was going on, they laughed too. I kept a close eye on all my drinks from then on. I'm 31 and my sister is moved out, married, and has her own family, but I am still plotting my revenge. 😈

Once at work I split a can of soda with a coworker, I poured half into each cup and I jokingly said, “I poured so you get to chose” He stared blankly, didn’t get it. Turns out he was an only child.
My family owned a restaurant in a small town and I and my sisters and parents all worked there. As you can imagine there were plenty of disagreements, to put it lightly. My older sister would piss me off, I'd line her favorite coffee cup with hot sauce. She caught on but got to the point where she wouldn't drink from any cups anymore. LOL
My kids used to fight a lot, but if someone ever hurt one of them, they would have to deal with all of them. They now have their own chat that they keep in touch with and we have a family chat where things get crazy really fast when we all get on it. We spend so much time laughing together.
That’s really awesome that they all have a chat, and that you also have a family chat! I think that’s very important. We used to have a family chat and most of us would use it several times a week. But when one of my brothers got together with his now fiancé, everything changed. She’s a complete drama queen and things got so out of hand that out of my 3 brothers, I only really talk to my youngest brother and his wife regularly. My oldest brother then started even more drama, so there is no more family chat and it’s really sad.
My oldest sister played "pranks" on me when we were young and I always told her I'd get my revenge. She'd just laugh at me. Well, fast forward a bunch of years and I told her oldest daughter (8 at the time) everything her mom had done to me. She then proceeded to do it all to her younger siblings. My sister called me and was pissed! I simply told her "remember when I said I'd get my revenge?" 😁😏

My younger sister wins the award for the biggest petty sibling ever. She is six years younger than me and I was trying to give her some advice one day and she looked at me with the most self righteous look and said “Why are you telling me this. The tinder date one reminds me of what I did for my friend. My friend Nikki went on a date with a guy who had taken her out to only wait for her food to come and throw her food on the floor and said eat it like the pig you are . So I made it my job to get him back. So I ended up being his perfect girl and strung him along for weeks to have him take me to a real expensive restaurant to take his food and throw it on the floor and I said eat it like the pig you are then left the restaurant. My pettiness only comes out on the behalf of others

I remember once my older brothers locked me out of the house in a game of hide and seek. Little did they know I got back in the house by pushing the window AC out then put it back like nothing happened. Then when our parents got home told them everything and they both got grounded and I ended up getting to watch TV and have ice cream ^_^ I was a little spider monkey at 7 and revenge was so sweet!
As the youngest sibling, my most trusted weapon was the almighty yell of MOOOOOOM! Could not convince my older sister of the viability of a sisterly alliance against out older brother. As he was 4 years older than me he had years to assert his dominance. And though I did eventually grow taller (victory number 1), his breadth of shoulder and thus power continued to exceed my own, and battles continued to be lost…until the night he tried to steal my pudding. No prisoners were taken, that pudding was my spoils and my right. And it was delicious.

When I was ten my younger brother snuck inside during my birthday party and ate all the icing off of my pink Barbie birthday cake. At the time I was so angry. But as adults we laughed so hard about it. He died in January of Covid. I miss him so much. I love me some petty revenge but I’m glad my brother and I could laugh about all of it later.
When I was a child I loved the pineapple juice from canned pineapples. My brother once pranked me and gave me corn juice from canned corn instead of pineapple juice. I had a mouthful until I tasted the awfulness.
6 months later we swapped the flavour of toothpaste. For 14 days I rubbed his, and only his, toothbrush in soap. I got busted when he complained to my parents about the taste and I broke down laughing.

As a young autistic girl I overloaded to hysterics when my sister faked out that I hurt her to my parents.
I'd cop a belting for "lying" every time because "if I was so innocent then what was I getting so worked up about?"
(The belting that is about to happen and flashbacks from the last one tend to panic a child, Mother).
I used to blame my sister for taking advantage of being the favourite like that, but I understood later in life that we just had horrible parents.
She's an amazing, little sister and I'm proud of her too.
When I was a kid and I’d divide the last piece of cake in two, mom let my sister pick the piece she wanted first. I made sure I divided it as equally as possible. Brilliant!
My aunt did that with her three kids. Science hasn't invented a device that can equally portion cake as exactly as a sibling can knowing the others get to choose first.

Neither my husband nor I were close o our siblings growing up, so we intentionally had our two kids so they'd be almost three years apart. They have always been the best of friends and actively choose to hang out together now that they're adults. We focused a lot on teamwork and stayed out of their petty arguments. It worked wonders and now we couldn't pry them apart if we wanted.
I have 2 girls...and I LOVE my older sister so much. When my kids fight I say "Listen, you're sister will be your best friend FOREVER! Be nice to each other!" 😆 I hope it actually works out like your kids 🥰
Good job mom and dad!! Our kids are 15 months apart, we wanted them close, but not that close lol! When they were little they were best friends and it was really cute. They are now 14&15 and even though they argue, they still are really close. I tell them all the time to make sure they keep that bond, it’s important and you’ll be thankful when you’re adults. I have 3 brothers and I’m not close to any of them really, the oldest and the older of the 2 younger brothers used to gang up on me as kids and were quite physical with me. I found out just a few months ago that my parents have had to have talks with them both about the way they treat me starting from young kids to as recent as 6 months ago, and I’m 44. It’s really sad honestly. I always wanted the kind of brothers who would protect their only sister, instead I got 2 brothers who could care less. I talk to my youngest brother the most even though he is 9 yrs younger than me and his wife is the sister I never had but desperately wanted. I really hate family drama.

I always find these sibling stories entertaining since I never had this kind of trouble with my brother. My little brother and I have always been close friends, even through our teens, and we never once hid, ate or damaged each other's things. We're two years apart and on the cusp of 30 now and we've only had two major fights that I can recall in all that time. Everyone tells me we're weird for getting along and that it's "unnatural". I just laugh. My parents raised us well, and didn't take any kind of shit when it came to respecting each other and our things.
Oh I was so petty to my sister! She used to steal my clothes and stretch them out because we weren't the same size at all. She actually ruined some of my clothes. So everytime she did that I went in her room grabbed 3 articles of clothing and just threw them in the trash. I regret nothing!

Here’s a petty sibling story for you. My brother pissed me off. I don’t remember why. So instead of talking to him about it like a rational and mature adult, I went to the toy store and bought he loudest, most obnoxious toy I could find for my 2 year old nephew. Drums, cymbals, maracas, tambourines, all of it. And my brother totally got the pettiness. He called and had his son thank me, then got back on the phone and says, “You did this as pure revenge, didn’t you?”

My great-grandma (we called her Little Grandma) used to do this same thing for all her great-grandkids. Drove my mom and her sisters (my aunts) nuts, because for every holiday we’d get some kind of noise making interactive toy. We loved them and would play with them for hours. My sister and I still talk about these toys.
But I know my mom and other aunts hated them and asked her to send toys that weren’t noisy, but she always responded that “turn-about was fair play”.
Always makes me wonder what my grandmother or mom did when visiting Little Grandma to kick off this level of petty. 😂
First holiday after she passed, we all (including my mom) missed the noise. And the 5lbs of tape around the gift box. Now we each put a little extra tape around gifts to each other as a loving nod to how much we miss her still. 😊 She was a good one. ♥️

My little brother made my life hell while I was in high-school and I was patiently waiting for my time and boy did it arrive. My brother was studying a lot for a test that was coming up on Monday. I woke up early that day to change the date on all the devices around him to the next day (Tuesday). He woke up and started getting ready and revising as he got ready. I asked him why he was still studying this subject when the test was yesterday. I took out my phone and showed him the date. He started laughing saying u almost had me and picked up his ipad and the ipad had the same date. He ran downstairs and found my stepmom's phone which I placed in the kitchen and behold it confirmed it was Tuesday. I then asked him if he slept through Monday and he started screaming with puffy eyes from crying asking why we didn't wake him up. My parents heard the commotion but they didn't understand what was going on so it added to his anger. BEST 20 MIN of my life 😁

When we were teenagers, my twin brother destroyed my house plants so I went through his records and put a tiny scratch on all his favourite tracks precisely in the part where I knew he would start to sing along...( it took ages) the satisfaction at hearing him sware in frustration everytime the records would jump was exquisite; matched by the fact it went on for so long. He still doesn't know and I still draw satisfaction thinking about his frustration when ever he annoys me. We are nearly fifty. 😏💋

My mum, who was a primary school headmistress with six kids of her own had a failsafe technique of finding out who was telling the truth. I then used it on my kids and it was so funny! When you know one is lying but but neither is backing down, tell them that the truth is written on their tongue. Of course, they can't see their own tongues so the one telling the truth opens their mouth wide and sticks out the tongue so far their eyes nearly pop out, and the one who is lying keeps their mouth closed, barely sticking the tip of their tongue out. Works every time!

And yes Charlotte, you are very much correct about younger brothers outgrowing you. I was taller than my brother up until he turned 13, then he shot up like 40 cm in a year, it was insane. Now he is so tall that I get a sore neck from trying to look up at his face, and I am now the shortest one in our family.
My brother was being purposefully annoying a couple of weeks ago so I told him I'd stick a hot dog in his ear. The next morning was a Saturday so while he was sleeping in I got up took a wiener out of the fridge, sharpened the end because ears are smaller than hot dogs and jammed it in his ear. He noticed it was sharpened then accused me of stabbing him with a Meat Shiv.

I have a great petty sibling story:
When I was little I was building a snow fort. I was using this huge stainless steel spoon as a shovel. This spoon was like two feet long with the scoop part larger than my little kid hand. Big brother thought I was a good idea to kick down my fort. With all my might, I popped him the the face with the ice cold spoon. He is 7 & 1/2 years older, but I got the upper hand that day.

Back when we were kids, every time one o my younger sis and I fought, I remember both of us threatening each other with "We're not best friends anymore!" if ever one of us did something the other didn't like. I was the second eldest. My big sister and I were very close but I was that "specific" kid who just loved watching the youngsters cry lmao. Annoying my lil siblings was a hobby of mine however, ironically when they start saying the "Friendship over" phrase, I was always the one left begging and on the verge of tears. Now I realized just how tsundere I was which unfortunately got passed on until the youngest of us 6.

My mom used whatever she had nearby. One time she grabbed a golf ball and threw it at my brother from across the room, nailed him right in the center of his forehead and gave him a goose egg. Her aim, speed, and powerful throw was impressive. She loved baseball, so maybe she learned pitching skills from being a fan? That day she could have made the Rangers roster!
Why is this comment so relatable? Ah kids just don't grow up the same as we did when we were kids gen x and millennials got the fear of God put into us at a young age and we turned out respectable.
Really bad offenses in my house got the rubber spatula because it “zings” (leaves a stinging sensation after impact unlike the wooden spoon)!! Personally, I think a lot of today’s kids could use the occasional “zing” to smarten them up! I know I had great respect after receiving one!! 😂
My mom said if I told on my brother for messing with me, I was getting in trouble too, so we better work it out between us! And if it got real bad, we had to worry about Dad with his Levi’s leather belt when he got home from work. We never involved the parents. Generation X here, too.

My sister is 18 years older than me, and my brother is 14 years older than me. When I was growing up they had already moved out and started having kids. So I missed out on the fun of petty sibling rivalry. My sister even had my niece before I was born! She still calls me Aunt Lissy, but is a year older than me! lol Sometimes I feel like I missed out on growing up with similar aged siblings, then I watch these and feel like maybe I didn’t miss out on anything! lol

Being the youngest of 3,I used to get my revenge by making my other siblings fight among themselves and watch while playing the role of a reporter in a safari. I talked about them as if they were beasts.until they hear me and start running after me🤣but of course I was under my dad's protection.it was a vicious cycle.lol

My very first migraine… I was maybe 6 years old? My mom gave me medication, put up blankets over the windows, tucked me in, and covered my eyes with a warm cloth. It was pizza night. They were saving mine for me to have after I felt better. When I was recovered, and came out of my room, my pizza was gone. More than 40 years later, as far as I am concerned, my brother STILL OWES ME THAT PIZZA!

I tried to kill my brother twice when he was a baby. Mum thought it would make me like him more if i helped her with him. Stopped after i 'fed' him his bottle of milk, bottle and all. She also tried to let me watch him while he was in the bath (she just took a step to the bench to grab his towel). When she turned around i had him under water, in my defense i was just teaching him to hold his breath under water 😎 i was only 5 at the time.
How about being stabbed in the back?? Literally, with a Jack knife/pocket knife… My scar is about an inch long and several people have asked about it, including Drs!! The same sibling also stabbed me in the wrist with a pencil because I was tickling him!! You can still see the small piece of lead under my skin… 25+ yrs later!!
My sister is 7yrs older and got stuck with babysitting me after school. She was dating the school “cool guy” and joined the tennis team in HS. She told me not to talk around her friends which pissed me off so I cut the strings on her tennis racket just enough that when she started playing they’d break. I’m 55 now and still afraid to tell her😆
My ex said I'd never return to college for my bachelor of science in applied psychology. I finished school last month, graduated with honors, inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success, so haha on her. As for your well-earned success, perhaps you should throw a "custom" DVD together, and send those to all the haters that said it would never happen. I definitely threw my little brother under the bus with my parents way too many times. He did it right back to me too. Now he’s 6.6 ft and I look like a shrimp next to him. He wins the brother award tho he literally saved my life a couple years ago. He helped me escape an abusive relationship that I was too afraid to leave and when my ex mil and sil broke in my house to beat me up he handled everything.
I convinced my brother he was adopted. He brings it up to this day..such an affront to his six year old mind! Do I feel bad? Eh..not really.

My brother told my sister that she wasn’t really born. He said that my parents were too poor for a refrigerator, so they put their milk outside in the winter to keep it cold. Well, they forgot one and the following summer, the gallon of putrid milk exploded and there she was. Gotta love siblings.

You've just reminded me of something very similar to what I told my younger brother when he was very young.... He was being a mean little brat telling me that our mum and dad loved him much more than they loved me. He was really starting to get to me so I just told him that he was the milkman's. Totally did his head in and he ran to our mum crying and asking if it was true, was he really the milkman's? I got a mild rebuke " what did you tell him that for?!" while he got the bigger telling off because we had a milk lady at the time and he hadn't stopped to work it out.🤣
With less than two years between us I'd say that the closer the age gap, the bigger the rivalry.
Wrestled a lot with my younger brother (4.5 years age difference) and always just completely obliterated him. Was totally mean about it. When he was 13 I just refused to ever wrestle him again as he was getting stronger than me. Never again. Because I wanted him to grow up deep down knowing in his soul that I could take him.

I'm #4 out of 5 kids. I would save up my money and buy myself a special treat which my only brother would eat. He was the golden child and never got in trouble. I started buying things that no one else in the entire family liked so I wouldn't have to share involuntarily. Fortunately I like Dr. Pepper soda, black licorice, pickled beets, and violet flavored candies.It was wonderful never having to share anything again! Another fortunate event is when I stood up to him and he disowned me. I'm 66 years old and that happened 20 years ago. I mourned the loss of my only brother, but rejoiced in the fact that I no longer have to deal with the narcissistic, always right moron. Thanks for you videos that make me smile! I was both at the same time. Like Miss Charlotte says, “I can mess with my brother but nobody else can.” I actually beat up a guy who thought he could hit my brother just because I did. Fool made the mistake of getting off the school bus at our stop and had to sit (bleeding) by the side of the road for his mom to come get him. It was a time before the great Karen spawn so when she asked me what happened and I said that he hit my little brother, she just took him home and used the belt on him.

At least they cared enough about you! I would’ve loved my 3 brothers to be like that. Unfortunately, I got 2 brothers who would beat the crap out of me and still treat me like crap and I’m in my 40’s! My younger brother is ok though, but is 9 yrs younger, so we don’t have a lot in common. But we are still closer than I am to the other 2. I’m sure when you were growing up you hated it, but I hope you’re thankful now!
