I had my fiancé cheat on me while I was in the hospital for over a year due to a major injury. When I got released from rehabilitation, I arrived to find out he had moved a new girl in, and had thrown out all of my stuff. So I sold the engagement ring, and took back all the car parts I had bought for his truck. I literally waited for them to go to sleep, and then I broke the cage lock on the hood, and took back the battery, alternator, air filter. Annnnd… since I had paid for the last oil change, I took the oil filter and all five quarts of oil!!

My poor niece was living with her college boyfriend. They had been talking marriage for a while. She had went home to spend the weekend with her mom and dad (aka my brother and his wife). When she got back he was at work. She was cleaning the apt. And found a condom wrapper on the floor peeking out from under the bed. She took all of the bedding, she took the shower curtain, she took all the dishes, and all of the towels and rags. But the piece de resistance was she took their couple's picture out of the frame that he gave her as a gift and put the condom wrapper in it! Yep she framed the wrapper! Keep in mind, she never called or messaged him. So when he got home, she was gone and the only clue he had that he wasn't robbed(LMAO) was the framed condom wrapper. I love my niece. Lol!

Not my breakup, but: I helped a classmate move out of her abusive boyfriend's home early one morning, and he loomed over me and yelled in my face while I made sure she had everything she needed. I contacted the one person I knew with a spare room who was up at that hour, who was a bartender. Bartender gave my classmate a place to stay until she was able to get on her feet, and asked what had happened. When I told him, he asked if I'd like it if the boyfriend were banned from the bar (his favorite) until he apologized for his behavior. I said, Honestly, I'd like him permanently banned so my classmate doesn't lose a safe space to socialize with friends. Bartender honored that request.

      first of all, you're an amazing person for that. holy fucking shit. you're not even her _friend,_ (unless the context is wrong here, i am autism plz forgive) just her _classmate_ and you put up with this bastard screaming in your face for her sake???? you protected her from him, found her a place to stay AND made sure she had a safe space to exist in that is guaranteed abuser-free!!! if I'd been in her shoes I would have started working on making you my bestie for life the SECOND i was stable enough to; cuz let's be real here that was a stressful-ass situation and trying to take on a new (platonic) relationship would probably be too much right away ^^;
SECOND of all, I wish I knew which bar and bartender that was because I would tip him. so much. (if i could actually get there, that is) like...i wouldn't even buy anything. i would literally show up JUST to give that dude money because he did such an amazing thing for her. She has at least ONE place where she knows she is safe from him, and--especially if she has to live in the same area as him-- that is absolutely HUGE. Lifesaving, even.
She doesn't have to isolate herself and deal with the aftermath of all of THAT alone because you AND that bartender were AMAZING people, and for her sake I am glad you both came into her life when you did. I hope karma comes back around to you a thousand-fold, and that you remember to drink some water because you deserve to be both hydrated and happy :)

My favorite petty story was the woman lost the house to her cheating husband so she ate a shrimp cocktail and left the remains in the curtain rods. Months go by the husband and his mistress do EVERYTHING to get the sent out but nothing works. Finally they sell the home to the wife for really cheap (cuz no one will by the stinky house.) And when they moved they took the curtain rods with them!!!

I made the mistake of giving my cat a couple of shrimp... ONCE.
He ate one, but hid the other one in my closet. Took awhile to find that nasty thing!
I still give him a shrimp as a treat sometimes, but I chop that sucker up in tiny pieces first!

My ex and I split up when I was 21. He always acted like I was financially useless, and told me to take whatever I paid for… well he had no clue how much I put into our home. I took the sheets, duvet cover, towels, dishes, coffee mugs…once he noticed everything going into boxes, he remembered that I bought the dining room chairs! And oh damn I was gonna take them… so we traded, I took the spare bed and he got to keep the chairs. He had very little left after I moved out. Dick.

This CHILD of a man that I was dating and who had moved in with me decided to break up with me. He said it was because he was "bored" but it probably had something to do with being extremely insecure about being unemployed and not knowing what to do with himself while I had a job AND was in school... He moved out (back to his mom's place because, liked I said, no job).
Anyway I was pretty upset about it at the time. Shortly after he moved out, I agreed to having the friend of a friend move in to the second bedroom. There was a dude that arrived with the new roomie to help her move in a few things. Dude was CUTE and he and I had an immediate connection. We started dating.
A month after breaking up with me, ex boyfriend shows up at my apartment, saying he "got it out of his system" and missed me and loved me and was ready to get back together and move back in.
So I got to tell him that I:
    a. already had a new roommate,
    b. was dating a new guy, and
    c. was definitely over him already
Sent him back to his mama, again.

A good friend of mine was dating this guy for a while and she thought everything was going well in their relationship , so much so that they began talking about getting their own place together. Till then, they both had each other’s keys to their apartments. One day while he was at work, he called my friend and asked if she would be able to swing by his place to check on his puppy and feed her because he had to work through his lunch break which he used that time to go home and tend to his puppy. He kept the puppy in his laundry room, and when she went in there, there was a basket of clothes that fell over from the puppy knocking it over. When she picked it up, an empty condom wrapper fell out of his pants pocket. ( they had stopped using condoms by this time) so she immediately knew that he was cheating. So her petty ass went to the store and bought garden soil with manure mixed in, poured the whole bag in the washing machine and put the clothes from the hamper in it and turned it on. She sent him a text saying “ hey I checked on Cleo and fed her, I noticed you had some dirty laundry that Cleo knocked over so I took the liberty of washing them for you, you’ll just need to dry them☺️”. She left her key and immediately blocked him. When he was able to contact her through another mutual friend, he did confess to sleeping with his co worker (whom he was also seeing that day when he had to work through lunch 🙄) Fast forward to 3 years later, she completely moved on with a way better guy AND, her ex was so remorseful that even with what she did, he was heartbroken that she wouldn’t give him another chance. He wanted to make it right with her so he asked what could he do and she asked for Cleo and he gave her his puppy😩😩🤣🤣🤣 she says it often that she’s thankful for Cleo and that she saved her a lifetime of heartbreak!!

I turned my ex in for tax evasion. I found out he was still married to his wife in NE. So, when we spoke she asked if I had access to his work files. I said, does his briefcase count? So, I spent a few hours going through the combinations on his briefcase. 619... I copied all of his contractor info and faxed it to his wife. She called NE tax officials and gave them his info and current address.
I received a letter from his ex during cmas. She was finally able to serve him papers in prison and get the divorce he denied her and he received 5 years for tax evasion.

We lived together so when I broke up with him he proceeded to steal pretty much everything from my home when I was at work. Being the idiot he is, he left some important things to him (one being his 3 foot tall bong). I kept it for a bit, started dating the love of my life, he stuck his you know what into the mouth of the bong, took a pic, then I returned his bong and then sent him the lovely pic a few weeks later after he had smoked out of it!! I was doing my chores and thinking about my momma, and her actions reminded me of this video.
When I was a kid my mom had my sister and I help her to cut my dads clothing up, holes in every sock
( cut a toe hole out and a good slit in the heel. His pants she cut the crotches out of each pair, shirts
without buttons all had holes in the arm pits, button-ups all had every other button removed with a slit
down the back, she fixed his underwear up too.
He drove a truck with bars on the bed for ladders and such, he worked at a factory. We drove over there
and hung all his clothes off his truck, she had signs posted all over his truck (CHEATER). Then she parked
so she/we could watch his face when he came out of work. Awww good memories LOL

    Here's mine.
He was leaving me, but decided since I wouldn't let him touch the washer & dryer anymore (he set the brand new washer my folks gave us on fire 2 weeks after moving in so I wasn't letting him touch either unit after) that since I had to wash his clothes before he packed up and left, I could also fold and pack his clothes for him.
    I said ok.
The apartment we lived in had a spider cricket issue. It was old WWII military housing and not maintained the best. So they came creeping in like mad. We were both horribly arachnophobic. I told the guys who did the exterminating not to come until the week after he moved out. I got a jar and collected as many of those nasty fucking jump at you abominations as I could. Then took the night off work on his last shift before moving. Each box had at LEAST 10 of those things. And they were very much ALIVE.
His mom called me laughing hysterically the day after he left. All I could hear was him screaming in the background. While Mom (we're still friends 20 years later) wasn't thrilled with having the new visitors, she 100% thought it was the funniest shit ever and bowed to my superiority.

The pettiest breakup I ever had, I was dating a guy I worked with(I was young, and realized real quick why that's a bad idea lol) anyway, we both worked nights. He was working, I had the night off. About 4pm. I get a call from some chick, saying she found my number in her boyfriends phone, but he didn't know she found it. She was level headed enough to call me and just as she suspected, I had no idea he had a girlfriend. So we met up, we went and bought some window chalk, went to the place of work during dinner rush, and wrote all over all of his windows and mirrors. The space left that wasn't written on, we completely colored in. I got a very angry phone call about 10pm as he was trying to leave work. 😁
He almost threatened me, but my friend (who he was afraid of cuz he'd already threatened to kick his ass once before) grabbed the phone and left the room to finish the conversation. Still don't know what he said to him, but he never came back to work, and I never seen him again.

hahaha my petty story: After leaving a 7 year old toxic relationship with my ex husband I kinda left it with almost nothing, I just want to leave as fast as I could. So he didn’t want to go for divorce, of course not he didn’t want to have any work on it, but I was carrying the whole marriage on my back and of course I had to do the whole divorce process by myself, let me clarify we are from Brazil and we got married there but we live in Germany so I had to comeback to my country to do that, he didn’t have to move a finger for that, anyway... So for the Germany government we are still married because when I came back from Brazil, 5 years ago, I gave him a copy of all the documents and I told him to tell to the Germany government that we are divorce so I could change my tax number, it was the only thing that he has to do... guess what he never did.. so every year that I do my taxes I still receive money from his salary .... and it's a lot of money :)

So when I finally worked up the courage to say enough is enough, his whole group of guy friends basically just dropped him. They became some of my closest guy friends and would watch out for me and protect me whenever he tried to talk to me. I’m not sure if that is petty or not but I loved it.

I just remembered a song I haven't heard in years, I think this should be the theme song for petty break-ups!
It was the one who took the spices that reminded me. This petty one in the song also took the friggin' candy right before Halloween! THAT'S some real petty shtuff!
(I swear it's not a rickroll, I'll post the awesome lyrics too!)
      ruclips.net/video/hn6AbrtjK9I/видео.html
You took the toaster when you went
You never paid your half the rent
You took the spices from the rack
But you don't have to put them back
'Cause in your haste on Halloween
You left your camera on the bed
Where we played roles in black and white
You left a role of black and white
I set the timer and thought of you
And put the lense up to my head
I took a photograph for you
What comes out gray is really red
      Are you happy now?
I smashed your pumpkin on the floor
The candle flickered at my feet
As goblins flew across the room
The children peered into the room
A cowboy shivered on the porch
      As Cinderella checked her watch
A hobo waited in the street
      An angel whispered, "trick-or-treat"
But what was I supposed to do
But to sit there in the dark?
*I was amazed to think that you
Could take the candy with you too*
      Are you happy now?
I've sat all night and now it s dawn
And I cannot believe my eyes
There's garbage strewn across the lawn
Where we once stared up at the sky
And streams of paper fill the tree
That hovered over you and me
      Shaving cream covers the car
That we picked up in Baltimore
Though I know it's hard to tell
I hope that what's-his-name treats you well
      I still maintain that he's a bum
But it's your money have some fun
      And are you happy now?
You always asked why I had not
Written you a verse or two
Since that's the one thing I regret
I dedicate this one to you
      Are you happy now?

It wasn’t a breakup scenario, however, back in my early 20’s, during my partying days, it was a thing to do something to the first person to pass out for the night. One night, the kid who was the first to pass out, we shaved his head. Come to find out, he had some kind of hereditary condition, and his hair only grew back in spots. I saw him approximately 5 to 6 years after this incident, and he still had bald spots from his head being shaved. I wasn’t even the one who actually shaved his head, and I still feel so much guilt over it.

She left him but first since he had such an “eye for fashion” she bought prawns cut them into tiny tiny pieces, opened all the seems and linings in his nice suits and hid pieces of the prawns inside all of them. Sewed them back up, put them back in the garment bags and left. 5 months later her friend saw him in town and he was furious because he’d just found the prawns and had spent ££ trying to have the smell cleaned out of the carpet where he thought it’s was. Now he had to shell out for new suits as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣 don’t control that girl!

How dare he dump me when I should have been the one to end it, right? So, the next day I called him under the guise of getting 'closure'. I used that time to tell him how happy I was that he dumped me and I thought that us breaking up was a really fantastic decision. He was so angry that I was happy (and I truly was...after my realization that he was the WORST). He wanted so badly for me to feel awful about the breakup, so I decided to not only not give him the satisfaction but to also wave it in his face. Best decision ever.

The most petty.... I was with this guy for seven years - married for two, when he got cold feet and decided he didn't want the relationship anymore. Whe'd just bought a house a few months before, and had been trying to get pregnant for a year. Then one night, I had a friend visiting, he just.. left. Went to his mums like a coward and left me worried and panicking for hours before I called his mum (hadn't done this, as to not worry her. She was a bitch on the phone and hung up on me.) Minutes later, I got a text from my husband, to take my cats and get the frick out. So that pretty much ended that marriage. I emptied the house the next day - with help from absolutely wonderful friends. I'd paid for just about everything, but left him a frying pan in the kitchen and an air matress to sleep on.. oh.. and all the debt on the house. I never looked back and never regretted a thing.

My ex always made fun of me for my love of yoga and kept telling me all the time how he thought about me every time he smelled incense and how he felt joy and comfort when smelling this type of scent. I discovered after 3y of relationship that he was cheating with a friend of my yoga class since a few months (I promise to make her eat her yoga mat if I meet her again in class one day). So after taking back everything I paid for in the apartment even the new mattress, I lighted the hundreds of incense sticks, powdered incense and scented oils I had in stock in his (rented) apartment, so absolutely everything will smell like incense for eternity and he will be forced to think about me and what he did to me when having her in his home and bed. Thanks to a mutual friend I learned that one month after I left he decided to trash every things which had some wood, fabric or porous materials in it a few weeks after I left him because he couldn’t tolerate the smell anymore and was crying all the time because it reminded him of me and of what he lost (the other woman dumped him because he couldn’t forget me by the way). The absolute best was learning that one year after our break up he decided to leave the apartment because he couldn’t live in “our home” anymore and couldn’t rebuild his life alone in this place but before leaving he had to pay thousands euros of reparation and a deodorization made by a professional because the smell was still really strong and the fumes from the incense let some sort of film on the walls, ceilings, outlets, wood floors, PVC doors and windows and this film gradually turned everything off white then yellow then orange and when he decided to leave everything was an orange brown and no amount of scrubbing could remove the stains from the incense of that day. They had to strip down a few layers of paint in every room, repaint everything after that and change every PVC or plastic thing (outlets, indoor shutter casing,…) in the apartment because the incense fumes acted like cigarettes fumes and destroyed everything. I was thrilled to learn about his misfortune but still felt bad for the owner of the apartment who had always been kind to me so I contacted him to apologize and he just laughed about it and told me that he was living in the apartment now and absolutely loved the way his apartment always smelled nice thanks to the wood floor infused with incense smell. He thanked me for the free renovations and invited me to have dinner with his wife at their place. Since then when I go grocery shopping with my husband and buy some incense for my yoga session he always says to me with a deadly serious face “don’t use it as a weapon this time, if you want to have a good smelling home there is other ways” and we always finish to cry of laughter together during the rest of our shopping after that.

He had collected Playboy magazines from the age of 12 until he was 30 and the more "collectors edition" ones you never taken the plastic off of making some of them quite expensive. One of our last argument was that he only kept all his magazines because you like to read the articles. I also took the remotes and batteries out of everything all the light bulbs and one tire but the magazine were my favorite part. Bwhahaha

The entire time, he kept demanding, and trying to pick arguments over the stupidest things, and surprisingly, I had no interest in rising to the bait over a coffee mug and old playboys. Judge ruled he had 30 days to sign, which to no ones surprise, he did not, and back to court we went, we being me and my lawyer; my ex failed to appear. The judge was so mad, she told us to put whatever we want in the papers and she will sign them.
I added a clause that he could have his stuff back, but the exchange had to happen all at once, within 30 days, with an officer present, or it defaulted to me. 'His stuff' included his fire arms collection he could no longer have, because he was a convicted felon.

To the girl with the pocket story: if the woman who cut out the pockets wanted to go a step further, she could have gotten sone craft glue (hot glue, krazy glue, gorilla glue, etc.), and actually glued them shut as well. Think about how frustrating it is for us ladies who try to put a hand in a jeans pocket only to find out that there isn't one actually there. Ooooh, simply gluing them shut is a great petty revenge too.
And here is an idea for anyone who is living with someone and wants to take all the things out of the kitchen. Take a picture of everything in the utensil drawer (this works the same for spice cabinets, dish cabinet, etc.), and have it printed to fit perfectly in the space. Take everything out of the drawer (or cabinet) and put the picture right inside, so this way it looks like everything is still there. When they go to reach for a utensil or anything else, they'll bump into the picture. When they take it down, they'll see that everything is gone.

I think the best solution to the pockets would be just to cut holes in the bottoms off the pockets. That way he would probably put things in them, but would lose them when they fell out. Unfortunately, they could be repaired, but he might have lost a lot of things before he figured out that all his pockets had holes.

Agree! I had an ex in my early twenties that insisted that all our friends were HIS friends and that HE got me my job and that everyone loved HIM, I was just a hanger-on that would be nothing without him. From the moment I left him, it felt so good to just live better, grow and evolve, and watch him flounder while I took steady steps through my life. Now I’m married with 2 kids, doing all the adulting stuff, and he still lives in the same small town doing the same things, drinking in the same clubs, being the same sleazy flirt he was when we broke up 13 years ago. I don’t live to revel in others misfortune, but sometimes it feels nice to have an abusive asshole proved wrong.

Pettiest moment I had after a breakup, I had been with this girl for two years we lived together. She cheated on me on a girl's weekend. Although all her girls came back and she stayed two days longer to cheat more. Luckily her friends were awesome and told me. Two weeks after we broke up, there was a party at my house. A cute girl sat down next to me at the end of the night and said "You were dating (ex) right?" I said "yup, unfortunately." To which she replied, "Yeah she reeeallly hates me." Gave her a look and just said (which for the record is generally not in my nature), "You wanna go upstairs?" And the rest is history. I still don't know that girls name as her friend woke her up early in the morning and they left. I'd say I'm not proud of the one nighter but.... I am. Shared hatred brought us together for one night of fun. It helped my pain. Hahaha!

I have a story from when I was in college. The guy I was dating was insecure of my ex who I was best friends with. Yeah, I know it's weird that someone can stay friends with an ex, but we did. Well, my boyfriend was really insecure by my ex had a job with good money coming in and could support a simple friend outing. Whenever my boyfriend treated me like garbage (which was a lot) he would basically be pushing me back to my ex (not literally). When we finally broke up for good, I ended up dating my ex again, and we lasted for quite a while. When college guy came back 10 years later and pulled some of the same crap again (this time being negligent and absent), it didn't bother me since I knew he would do it. I let him back into my life to prove a point to others. When he walked away the last time, he pushed me right towards a different ex who has been my best friend for years. He and I are very happy

When I finally got his ass tossed out of my house, he took the washer, dryer, fridge and stove. He said it was because they were paid for by his parents. He left me with four kids and no appliances. Thankfully my mom and her boyfriend helped me out. Many years later, my ex passed away from cancer. I helped clean out the property he lived in, so my daughter could get it ready to sell. And there were the appliances…in the garage, never used after he left. He didn’t want or need them. He just didn’t want me to have them.

As a maintenance worker I have some ideas. Instead of putting things in the vents gorilla tape them on the attic crawl space door or tile. Turn off all the electricity, take the face plate off every switch and outlet, loosen the ground wire. Turn off the water at the street and every fixture, loosen the angle stops, leave water off for them to turn on.
Put gravel in the disposal. Put lard in the dishwasher drain tube. Take the drip pan out from under the refrigerator, while you are there take a wheel too.
If you want to go really far with it you can reroute the incoming water to go right back out into the sewer. It will stay running constantly and the next bill will be thousands. If there is a microwave, take the screws only out of the raised area on the back or bottom. Eventually the microwave will have a slow death.
Take the garage door sensors. Disconnect the wires to the inside garage door button and twit them together, fasten down, put the cover back on.
Take the belt out of the vacuum. Replace the dish soap with hair gel. Pour silicone caulking down the tub drain and let it dry. Take the shower head off and put a quick dissolving clothes dye tablet inside or just glue. The pressure might be enough to pop the shower head to pieces.
Pull up corners of the carpet and put things to rot underneath, like dead frozen mice sold in pet stores. Put roaches in a cardboard cracker box and leave it in the cupboard.
    Happy Hunting!!

So throughout the experience they reminded you to be courteous and wear your mask etc. There was an older couple (of course) that was basically openly refusing to wear their masks and I said a little too loudly that we needed to leave that area because SOME people didn’t know how to respect others and wear their masks. The husband said something like “they don’t work anyway” and I couldn’t do anything but be angrily flustered and walked away but literally seconds later I thought why didn’t I say “well neither does your dick, but I bet you still try to use it anyway.”

I'm not sure if you were HISSING at your dad or saying HEY in a "hissing way", but whatever you did, I literally fell off my bed laughing loud as hell! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

My husband is not a fan of shoes that don’t have laces, except house slippers. He also loves his hot sauce, im talking next level, would make you cry and he could go on “The hot ones” and eat all the wings and just not a nibble. He has a collection of about 50 sauces that take up two door shelves in our fridge. My petty would be cutting the laces to make it look like they are still useable and I’d take all the hot sauces. Also the taco meat and all spices. No spicy taco night for you 😂🤣😂. I’m very fortunate that he’s a great man and we look forward to sharing our life together.
