Hard edges are not bad or mistakes - many artists use them for creative effect and texture. 🙂 However, many watercolour beginners find them appearing in places they don't like. 😂😅
There's a slight variation on the "blotting" technique that I use: load the brush and, holding it vertically with the tip down, take a folded paper towel and touch the hair or filaments just where they enter the ferrule. This seems to remove mostly clear water, since the heavier pigmented liquid flows towards the tip. I feel less uptight about wasting expensive pigment on my paper towel.
Thank you for this advice! And also for all the free tutorials! I just started with this after a year long doing nothing because a burnout. Finally I'm out of my head... God bless you and your work 🙏🏼
People complaining about the hat: Jenna is authentically expressing herself. She looks beautiful and happy. Like she seems to have to say a lot lately: IT'S JUST A HAT 😊
I am here for watercolor, not fashion, so long as there is some helpful information, she could be wearing a full hazmat suit and I wouldn't care. Content over clothing any day. :)
I had to revisit this helpful advice! Here's a quick summary of what Jenna mentions. TLDL: use quality 100% cotton paper - cold pressed paper may be better. Control your water - one trick is to always blot your paintbrush on a papertowel or other absorbent surface to remove some excess water (check out her peanut butter video for more info)
I would say that Jenna is giving this info to us without money out of our pockets. Shes a beautiful woman inside and out, and bullying her about her hat isn’t a good look on you. 👎 Close your eyes or go to another channel.
For all the people commenting on her hat: you're the problem, not her. Learn to focus and have priorities. If you want fashion, go watch the Kardasians or celebrities.
I have never seen her before. She could be wearing a hat 👒 every day. I don't understand why this matters if she's talking about painting! 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
I love the hard line edge look, didn’t know it was a negative.
It isn’t always.

Thanks for the info. I did find the hat distracting
Lady, that's a you problem. Imagine all of the fascinating information you've missed out on by being caught up in a person's looks/design choices.
I love the hard lines of watercolour. It the best thing about watercolour.
I would like to learn about some intentional wet on wet blooms. If you already have a video on it...I'd really appreciate the video title.
Thank you for sharing this information, Jenna!
Great tips! Thank you! 😊
Good tip. Wear whatever you want.
Thank you so much sometimes I don’t even know what the name of the problem is so it’s kind of hard to even search it so thank you
It’s so strange how people can say just anything to a woman that they would never say to a man. Thanks for the tips Jenna.

watercolour is such a versatile medium, it really is so fun 🥰
😭😭I think you're better at it than me...
Thanks friend 😊
Why tf is people talking about her hat bruh
Very interesting, the model miniature community utilizes a similar technique to prevent overwatering the brush.🤔
What’s with the hat?

What's with the hat? Jenna
There is no reason to use paper towels instead a rug.
I have never seen her before. She could be wearing a hat 👒 every day.

These are not “tricks”. The hat, why?
Great content, but the hat really takes away from your beautiful little face that we love to see. You are in the shadows under that hat...
Hate those lines
