Pinchas riff on viola at 6:22 is unparalleled. Pinchas and Perlman legendary duo!
That's not remotely the technically most impressive part of this duet. Like for example the mathematically precise ricochet at 2:37, the clean flageolets around 5:42 or some of the melodic double stop parts throughout the duet. Doesn't sound as fancy but is way more challenging to perfect than rocking a fast riff.

Just watched them perform this in 1978, Zukerman has got some wonderful white hair there now & for a lifetime of watching them, Perlman won't be far behind. Wonderful as always.

These two masters show no exaggerated physical expressions are needed to convey passionate playing and show their mastery. Bravo! Incredible collaboration, like they were one soul ❤️

I actually prefer this arrangement over the violin and cello one. I think the violin and the viola complement eachother much better in this particular piece.

Well rock and roll and especaialy metal music uses alot of similar arpeggios and chord progressions ect that's why there is alot of similarities between them

Data plays the violin part in his quarters and his mother, played by the amazing Fionnula Flannigan one of my favorite all time actresses. She’s also a very accomplished violinist, who took up Viola for the part.
I played this when I was in 7th grade, way before I fully understood the music of the piece. Now looking back I'm just starting to see the brilliance of a few simple chords

im currently in the 7th grade. this piece isnt in my exam pieces (idk what its called) but in trying to play it. god its do hard i cant even imagine how much time it took them to play it so flawlessly but im surprised how did you play this in 7th grade this pieve gives me depression😭😭😭
