F.A.Q.
*Didn't Doctor Doom wield it?* - That was just an issue cover. If you actually read the issues, it very clearly shows that he IS NOT worthy.
*Didn't Hulk once lift it without Thor's hand on it?* - Again, that was just an issue cover.
K
Thanos can cuz of the infinity gauntlet
Comic Drake throg.
Cover Issues: The Click Bait of Comics.
@@The_Punisher he can stop it with using the gems but he cant wield it
So... did The Imaginary Axis picked up the hammer off his laptop?
Nah
All he would have to do is open the laptop. According to his theory at least. If it creates a local gravitational feild if touched it should be able to be moved by non human things, though that means that anyone wearing a glove that blocks human skin contact should allow for raising of the hammer. That doesnt count ironmans suit however because it has been shown that jarvis as an ai is actually self consiouse. This means non-living things must also pass the worthiness test. I think it may be a psycological test, testing your beliefs and worthiness. Jarvis as iron-man's suit was likely unworthy, whilst jarvis as vision, due to his newfound separation from tony stark's will makes him a being that, down to his coding, is completely worthy. Though this also may be due to his infinity stone.
+EMS Soul knight or maybe when its someone wearing a glove or suit mjolnirs magic looks past the glove or suit at the person underneath it! same for if someones using a laptop as a lever! basically "mjolneirs enchantment doesnt apply to machines" only applies if its not just a man in the machine or right by the machine working it!
Tyler must have bought a new laptop
Why yes but no
If you cut off THOR's hand ant duct tape it to the hammer, could you still use it?
mmmmmmmmmmmaybe
I actually want a reply to that
+FrostbyteTheWolf future thor lost his arm and replaced it with the Destroyers, so I guess you can
+Bryan Delgado As do I?
***** what if you make a robot that thinks its Thor and attach it to the hammer a sentient that could probably be worthy.
You forgot about the coat hanger being worthy. hahaha
Also the elevator
+Rutger Schleyhahn +tomjhonable you two are amazing
+Olivia Kirkland whoops, i meant tomjohnable
The cost changer isn't canon, it was just something Chris Hemsworth's did, not in the script
Autobot Heatwave r/wooosh
"Who was the best hammer wielder?"
Easy, M.C. Hammer
Thank you Odin for blessing me with a mind to fight and two flyin feet
*claps* 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mario, according to the Green Scorpion.
Stop!
Hammer Time!
Can't touch this
no disrespect to Throg but Beta Ray Bill is one of my favorite all time characters. he went toe to toe with the hulk and actually messed him up a bit.
If history is anything to go by, if Jane stops having Mjolnir, she'll get her own hammer.
+Rory Walker And Odin Winfrey does it again
If Odin wanted he could heal her of that Cancer too
Vance Fergus dead ass
Now she is valkryie, and she transforms using a wrist gauntlent thing. So she did get her own weapon.
@@cydonia1
for real?
So if Thor's bloodline can lift Mjolnir then that means that Torunn, Thor's daughter who has her own Mjolnir-like sword, can lift Mjolnir.
They should make her the next Thor
+Rea Selepe Except that Jane Foster is better.
Aidan Lappin It may be his name, but it's also kind of a superhero identity.
+Aidan Lappin Sort of like how Mudd is the name of one of the Southern conspirators, and a synonym for making your family's name worthless.
Zerpderp0 Harry ?
But is the elevator worthy? (Non sentient beings can hold/move it, but not "wield the power" of Thor, like you said, but the quote needed to be said)
+Bob Smith
So if Thor sets Molnr down on a table, can you move the table and the hammer?
+whiterabbit75 I've wondered this many times.
+whiterabbit75 you aren't directly moving the hammer, so yeah.
Dogan
So, if the hammer falls into a box, you can just pick up the box and move it normally? That's a heck of a loophole.
whiterabbit75 The real question is what would happen if someone with gloves tried to hold it.
I think MCU Cap is fully worthy of lifting the hammer. His humility is what stopped him from really lifting it in front of Thor. Or if he can't just yet it's because the internal struggle he feels being displaced out of his time and all the baggage that comes with that. I would actually love to see him pick up the hammer in one hand with bis shield in the other and smash the smirk of off Thanos face in Infinity War.
+Jesse Cortez I think in the MCU it is the fact that he doesn't ever stop fighting that makes him unworthy. Cap is always fighting the War. Even when the battle is won. So, Cap is almost worthy, but fall short because of that character flaw.
Not sure that applies to the comics, but it is worthy mentioning.
+Jesse Cortez
That might actually happen.
I think that believing ing what you're fighting for (ie. Thor and the destroyer armor in Thor 1, or Vison and Ultron in Avengers 2) is something you need. Because of the events of Winter Soldier, I'm willing to bet that Cap did have that confidence in his mission anymore. I also think he would have been able to in most of the exiled movies.
Cap might misuse the hammer if directed to do so by someone in power
+nosuchthing8 not in the MCU he wouldn't he does not trust anyone outside of the Avengers and even then he doesn't trust all of them
stan lee picked it up
wait really?
GamingHeaven at the end of *SPOILER*
lego marvel avengers
only becuse he made the mcm or you can call it the mcu
but he still picked it up. so he is one of the people who can pick up thor's hammer
he is the creater so he can kill or do any thing in the mcm or mcu but he is woth
Came here by the Imaginary Axis
Me too, I wonder if he forgot to tell his fans to jump into Imaginary Axis' channel or just went full douche on the guy.
+Jake S (Noscope64) me too
Love how you worded that^^
2019: Captain America use Mjolnir in Avengers Endagame. 3 years later this video :)
you suck
Ejler and you swallow
I'm pretty sure Cap in the MCU could totally lift it, but didn't want to show up his friends. AKA, Cap was too worthy.
I read it as 'he was on his way'. We know that he eventually DID wield the hammer, but... well, he wasn't done growing as a person yet. Remember that he has some small but important personal revelations through Age of Ultron, and a whole Civil War to go through.
Throg is best Thor
I seriously thought he was Slippy from Star Fox for a second.
3:10 Thor has one of those"Excuse me?!?" looks.
must not ... must not say...must not ...." Hammer time " lol
Epic fail*
69Jynx69 lol, that was funny.
Actually I Norse mythology Thor doesn’t use his iron gloves in order for Mjölner to return to him, but in order to withstand the impact when Mjölner came back in such a high velocity.
Wow you put Superman in the thumbnail but didn't talk about that universe. That's pretty bait-y
+Comic Drake Throg would've been a more accurate yet still eye-catching thumbnail imho
You can't call the video super man holds Thor's hammer and not talk about it.
+Comic Drake it's bait-y because it catches your eye and you don't talk about it for like 3 seconds
+Comic Drake I just think that something that has a little more context in the video is more deserving of the thumbnail. Not that it really matters in the end, the video itself is gopd
+Comic Drake the video isn't titled that but on the thumbnail it says "superman holds Thor's hammer.
Well now we know that Cap can wield the hammer in the MCU.
So basically Thor isn't that special that's what i interpreted from this video!
Yeah but you could say that about Hal Jordan
+Gabriel Mendez I was thinking ironman because he literally has the same idea as thors hammer just no need to be worthy to to get the powers of iron man because its all in the suit but Hal Jordan is a great comparison never noticed how similar there powers worked.
+Brandon Littzi Just your typical 'big, scary guy with a hammer' as they first called in him Ultimates volume one.
He is very special.
The hammer isn't going to mal you. Thor. It just gives a portion of powers. Like a trail
Rather than acess to the full software. Thor can also remove the enchantment and make you mortal of he needs to. So
Nope
Thor is special. This guy doesn't know shit about
Thor.
pious83. Typical
Dctard
Who doesn't have a single idea about
Thor
You know what's nice about Beta Ray Bill? He didn't literally take Thor's identity for the sake of giving space horses representation in comics.
+CometX-ing LMAO, funny but also sad.
tru
+CometX-ing he also didn't randomly become 100 times better at being Thor because horse power, and he wasn't given a free pass by a horse villain because they were both horses.
Or maybe they did it because they had an interesting story they wanted to tell and that just so happened to include Jane Foster, a long time character in Thor comics who also happens to be a woman. What are your feelings on Rhodey after the demon in a bottle arc in Iron Man if you don't mind me asking. They are literally the same situation.
maxor669 I never read that comic, but unless Rhodey literally took the name of Tony Stark then it's not the same. I have no problem with someone taking over the place of Thor should he prove to be incapable, the issue is that not only did she take his power, but also his name. Thor isn't a title like Iron man or Captain America, it is his own given name. If Jane Foster was her own hero and not just Lady Thor without the lady then I would be fine. Beta Ray Bill didn't go by the name Thor when he got his hammer, Miles Morales didn't take the name Peter Parker when he became Spiderman.
Fun fact mijonirs enchantment has changed since Thor had become King and now wields the Odin/Thor Force
Stan Lee got the story of mjölnir completely wrong. Here's the real story:
Loki competed with two dwarves about who could craft the best weapon for Thor. Loki bet his head that he would win. The dwarves made mjölnir and Loki lost. The dwarves tried to chop Loki's head of, but Loki said that they cannot hurt his neck, so the sew his mouth shut.
The hammer doesn't give Thor his powers otherwise the words on the hammer would say 'Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of...Mjolnir'.
3:11 That look Thor has.
he knowsss...
3:16
“He’s kinda worthy but not really”
Cap in Endgame: I’m about to end this man’s whole career
T McK He’s in battle
drake u r doing a gr8 job... keep up the good vids
I like how the original hammer is named Mjølner and every other has an English name
ik I was thinking that too XD
So... y'all didn't interpret the hammer slogan meaning Odin stripped Thor of his power and imbued it into the hammer? Huh.
Thanks for the super cool video, you just got a new subscriber :)
I love these vids bro
And then EndGame made Captain America worthy even after battle.
Well he was always worthy in mcu
What about the elevator? Is it worthy? I mean,it spends all its life helping people to go from Floor A to Floor B. So in my opinion, the elevator has a noble mind and a strong heart, making it worthy.
so if you manage to cut off tourist hand and place it on the hammer are you still able to pick it up or not?
this was awsome!!! thanks for the video
mjölnir actually means crusher how do I know... mjölnir is in Icelandic and I'm Icelandic
***** omg tou replied to me!!!
Ok so I'm Norwegian and I just realized this. Mjölnir, mjöl, flour, ir, flourmaker? Fuck that sounds so stupid it might actually be right. The pulverizer.
@@channelofsindre ,crusher, smasher pulverizer... so many names and they’re all freaking ridiculous.
Am I The Only One Who's Wondering Why Spidey 2099 Is Worthy But Present Spidey Isnt?
I think it's bcz Spider-Man refuses to kill people
Most people that wielded mjolnir (including Thor himself) have killed before, spiderman on the other hand refuses to kill even his worst enemy no matter how horrible the criminal is
"that which smashes." I love it.
this does not explain why they could hold it. or rather why Thor can. what is it about thor that makes him so worthy? is it literally his personality? that would make sense, because he and the cap have similar personalities, outside of thor's cocky-ness. and with cap's worrior spirit raging, being cocky would make sense as to why he can wield the hammer.
just a thought.
I assume it's some kind of mix of the old ideas of nobility, a hero, an honorable warrior, and a king. And probably more than a little subjective, biased by Odin's beliefs.
in the old avengers cartoon movie thor threw the hammer at the hulk and the hulk picked it up by sheer strength and started beating thor with it
oh ok
plus that completely contradicts the rules and doesn't make any sense.
GonandKillua I know I hate when franchises break their own rules.
***** Good point, but don't the cartoons have (most of) the same rules.
Im pretty sure he once wielded it by worthyness. There is a panel i saw a couple of times where he has it raised over his head and says:"HULK WORTHY!" I dont know the context however
Here from endgame and
*YUP*
*Cap Lifts It*
nice spoiler arsehole
Alex Powers from Power Pack wielded Mjolnir in one of the Power Pack mini-series (#11, April 2010) when the adult Asgardians, including Thor were turned into infants by a magic spell.
Wasn't there a paramedic in one comic that was on the scene of the aftermath of a Thor/Avengers fight and as he was going by carrying someone on a gurney reached down, picked it up and gave it to Thor before going back to his job?
**dislike** for misleading thumbnail. dont use supermans picture if you're just going to say we will talk about him "some other time"
+Comic Drake fan of the videos, just not a fan of misleading click bait. i don't think it's petty to expect what the thumbnail is pitching. when you say things like that you just come across as defensive, Sir.
+Comic Drake would you prefer a simple 'dislike' without the constructive criticism? It's to help you further improve your (already pretty good) like to dislike ratio in future videos
....good for you
Justin McNeil two years late but I only clicked on the video to know the story behind Superman wielding Mjölnir
Everyone's a critic 😒
Anybody here bc of Endgame?
Where can I find the Axis storyline? Sounds so fun to read.
how about the robot-android (I forgot) Thor from the Civil War ?
Sam Winchester from supernatural lifted Thor's hammer.
It would be SOOOO amazing if Beta Ray Bill appears in Thor 3 or GotG 2
Yes! That would be great. Some say that one of his species is in the Collectors possession in GotG.
I'd settle for a post-credit scene, like Howard the Duck in GotG.
+Jesse Cortez yeah, I nearly had a heart attack when j saw that 😂
+S.S.R.C.P.B. That'd be good, loved that Howard the duck!!!
+S.S.R.C.P.B. That'd be good, loved that Howard the duck scene!!!
awesome video!
I have a question. Before Odin place the enchantment on Mjölnir could Mjölnir be lifted by any mere being?
Let's not forget that time Hulk lifted Mjolnir with brute force...twice!
so true
In another universe? Nah I won't count that.
It was a dream
Hulktards
The most worthy wielders of Mjolnir ever?
Elevators.
Thors iron gloves is for making the hammer return? I had never heard that, where did you get that info?
hey comic drake , I want to see an episode on witch of those hammers and welders are most powerful , does Oden making them Thor types put them on the same level ? or are they just knock offs?
3:25 hold up, I remember seeing that Cap in some of the Spider-Man 2099 Comics is a woman... so why is he a man here?
after endgame. Lifts it during the battle. U were right
Cap always could've lifted it so no he wasn't right
3:13 well…that was retconned. (In the MCU)
well i seen captain American hand thors hammer to him after namor beat the ff and thor. but he never use it in that case. how do you explain that?
Please do a video on Marvel Zombies :D
#TheImaginaryAxis sent me here!
Oh crap, now I'm going to find and read Throg.
A frog hero. Is it so ridiculous?
*plays Frog's theme*
0:42 why is Wonder Woman 90% naked?
Ollie Nix fanservice
Because who doesn’t want to see Wonder Woman 90% naked? Prefer 100% myself but hey!
But the question still stands... Elevator.
+Cascade Hellsing As he said in the video, non-sentient things like machines or robots can lift the hammer but not use it's power
+Mr. J But not Iron Man's armour / gauntlet?
JonCombo Since Iron Man is the one operating his armor, the hammer doesn't move. However, if an empty armor tried to lift it, the armor could be able to lift it.
He can operate remotely though.
Tui Ninness-Clarke That's actually true. He probably could do that
Thank's, That is exactly what I was referring to. Side note: Isn't Uru an indestructible comic metal? So, how does a sliver "break" off to turn Puddle Gulp into Throg? Must be providence.
how did you have the time to look this up all yourself?
*****
do what you love i guess
I don't like the Jane foster Thor I just like Thor.
I agree.
Who else here after endgame
Rad Space me
I’d had no idea that Loki had use of Mjolnir during the Axis event! I wonder if we’ll see reference to that in the Loki MCU series.
0:00 monaco jumpscare
Hehehe endgame
I still hate the whole woman-Thor story. A woman having Thor's power and hammer? Sure, that's fine. But giving her Thor's *very name*? That was just dumb. It's not a title, it's his *name* you don't just give that away, especially if you are a god. Whoever wrote that was dumb and I dont know how that ever got approved to be canon.
(The rest of her story is pretty interesting, it's just the whole "literally getting his identity including his name" part that is dumb)
+Davrial aka Blue Mario It's not like she was the first person to take the mantle. Erik Masterson *was* Thor, while the Odinson himself was banished to an alternate dimension, I think? At this point, it's been canon that Thor is a title as much as a name for at least 20 years.
+Davrial aka Blue Mario besides all the gods and magic it is kind of close to real life
+Davrial aka Blue Mario even Odinson is a stupid name it is also just a title ("i am Odin's son"what kind of name is that) if he can't even keep his own name what kind of God is he . . . i agree that giving Jane Foster Mjonir and taking his name as well was kind of lazy writing . . . i don't have a problem with a female Thor but i am a Fan of the Blonde haired and Bearded tall viking warrior God of thunder Thor and they just flushed that down the toilet and alienated his entire fan-base just to give all his power to his sick girlfriend and just left Odinson to wander aimlessly (i know he did stuff without Mjonir but i still feel ripped off) . . . Just let Jane die already and give Mjonir back to Thor, the real Thor
+Davrial aka Blue Mario Also the fact that she's better than Thor in every way is kinda fucking stupid. It's almost like weird bullshit feminist propaganda "Oh she's a womyn so she don't have no rape-urges to make her less powerful!"
Davrial aka Blue Mario it's called feminism and bitching.
How many hammer were made after some lifted thors hammer?
Don't quote me on this but In my personal opinion as a U.S. Marine, you need a strong since of honor courage and commitment(determination, much like Steve Rogers), and an altruistic personality amplified by an increase of adrenaline (adrenaline rush)
Anyone want to tell me why it is that Cap can only lift the hammer in the heat of battle but cancer ridden Jane Foster who has never been a warrior of any sort is able to pick it up? The only thing in common with everyone who has lifted the hammer has been their warrior spirit and now that's casually tossed away. I hate how often writers are throwing continuity to the wind these days. makes me sick...
+Comic Drake A good point, but everyone has problems. Are you telling me Cap doesn't face enough internal issues with the spirit of a warrior? I can't believe that, he wouldn't be a hero if that were true. Also, what about everyone else? You telling me a kid with some fire in eyes can lift the hammer now? My only point here is that writers all to often expand into a void, often making things we feel we have a foundation for much less... entertaining to me. Before, I was ok with "who so ever be worthy" being vague only because it's never truly explained because it's left up to the interpretations of the situations, but each scenario in which the hammer was picked up has similarities that are washed with this story. what's so wrong with Thor now that we are reaching to draw depth to Jane Foster of all people? and she is better than Thor with the hammer now? Why? What is the point of this story? Just like, why do they keep trying to replace Steve Rodgers? I'm ranting.. sorry.. im still just waiting on good stories, not this stuff...
+Ramon Brooks I have to agree you, I didn't actually know just how many people actually wielded the hammer so far. I was okay with non-animate beings being able use the hammer (minus the power) as well as using while it's still hold by Thor, heck even in the orginal mythology the hammer was once stolen by giants but they couldn't actually use it. But the random assortment of people that could wield the hammer simply tramples on the mythology of Thor and Mjölnir which states that only he could use the hammers power, it just screams "we wanted to make money, so we made bullshit up and said that's canon".
+Ramon Brooks because feminism
lancerfan1991 ikr, they sure don't try to mask agendas like they used to. lol
My theory is basically that due to a lack of need, cap is almost worthy. Just not enough to lift it fully. Adrenalin is quite weird, but it changes both our physiology, making us stronger, and our psychology, giving us a clearer mind. Simmilar to that guy who got fused with thor, in the heat of battle he was worthy through intention. He wasnt lifting it just because like cap sometimes does, he lifts it out of necesity, and for a good purpose. If cap truely needed it and adrenalin was clearing his mind of all personal reasons for using the hammer, and purely was using it for good
variant comics did.this topic first you rip off. _average commenter

+Comic Drake 6:38 I second that Damn
+Red Hood Hahahah its funny when you try to argue with him but ended up you requesting to avoid more further arguements.
Tch.
mjolnir or mjølner as it's really named has 2 meanings smasher and lightning according to norse mythologi or asatroen as it's really called and it can change siza at will so it can fit in a pocket if need to, and Thor also had to make a glow so that he could catch the hammer agin when he threw it and it always gonna hit what he's aming at, and it was 2 dwarf's that crafted the hammer
What? No mention of The Imaginary Axis?
fez THANK YOU
I still dont like the whole female thor thing. Like everyone else who was worthy got their own hammer. But she got to keep Odin Sons hammer. That's not cool. Hopefully he will eventually get his powers back and transcend to an even more powerful version of himself with a new weapon. You can see just how worthy he really is, in his own humility of giving his name away.
+martinshoosterman That's basically the MO of Feminism to take over what others have created.
Femitard Thor . . .
She was made for feminists who don't read comics.
***** uh oh. feefees. www.theguardian.com/books/2015/feb/23/marvel-comics-thor-attacks-critics-feminist
They wanted to have a cool female character because when they're done right they are cool. If you have seen the show Avatar you know that strong female characters can make or break a form of media
You forgot the best character to pick up Thor's hammer: Elevators.
the funnest was the lil girl how picked it up and gave it to thor. being a kid and pure of heart
Alex Power of the Power Pack wielded the hammer in Thor and the Warriors Four #4, with Thor himself confirming that he wielded it due to worthiness and not his gravity powers.
I seem to remember an unnamed paramedic handing Thor his hammer. Thor was rather dizzy at the time, and didn't realize what had happened until the paramedic was gone.
So I've been thinking about this. If the one who holds the hammer posses the power of Thor, is it really Thor who holds it in the movies and comics? Or does he just, as the hammer says, posses Thor's power?
If so, who is Thor?
(I'm from Sweden btw. I've heard the stories)
" Did you see that? He totally made it wiggle! -exact quotes
lmao
Another way that you can technically bypass the hammer's enchantment is by being able to manipulate metal, so characters like Magneto have been shown to be able to control it.
0:07 just for that translation. I'm leaving a like...
Do a video on the young avengers that would be so cool
Love the random Mississippi State touchdown. (1:30)
Is is okay to love Thor the most out of the Avengers? Also all the norse names sound so badass.
One of my favorite Characters is Beta-Ray-Bill, So awesome. You know, now that you mentioned the One off where Jane became Thor, I the current run ends along the same lines. I hope Odin does not just grant Jane her own hammer but turns her into a full fledged Asgardian.
2:10 Wait, May Parker, Kitty Pryde, Ka-Zar and the Inhumans are avengers?
And Throg is a sidekick?
So... you put Superman in the Thumbnail but then go “Nahhhh” and decide to go into that later?
I’ve been bamboozled
what comics is odins father and odins grandfather in because i wana read these
What I want to see is something about Doom 2099. It's a story arc about Doom being sent to the future and really shows off his amazing character.
what about that guy from the avengers assemble show? you know, the one on the space ship, protecting his people or something.
Elevators can lift it, aircraft can lift it, you could probably lift up the table tilt it so it falls off.
