    Their younger selves overcame the ghost of their haters and critics (NOT the parents) who tried to keep them from becoming the women they are today. They tried to bury them with childhood memories, but those came back. This is a tribute to Stranger Things, Poltergeist, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Groovy Chaos is a company owned by Beto Ramos, Pau’s drum teacher. It also did the Automatic Sun video.

    Fantastic review. One note to maybe make analyzing easier: Their theatrical videos do not always match the lyrics 100% (especially this year). The song is about dealing with someone with a god-complex. It’s basically telling the person “you’re not that good, time to step-off & you’re dead to me”.
    Now the VIDEO is about exorcising the “demons” that haunted their childhood. Maybe the people who didn’t believe I’ve in them? Maybe critics & commenters who put them down? MAYBE fear & self-doubt? (In the X Anniversary video Dany talks of remembering little Dany being scared).
    The instruments being chained probably nothing more than a visual reminder of the vortex their music is creating to trap the entity. & the mirror shot is probably just to emphasize the idea that they are conducting this exorcism across time & perhaps dimensions. But those are just my interpretations

      I am with you with the first part of your analysis, but I believe the instruments being chained represent the long time fans that want to keep The Warning the way they were. Little girls, straight up classic rock, etc. And showing at the end that they are ghosts represents the fact that they aren't there anymore.
      They are grown women now, and they will make the kind of music they want to make regardless of how people feel.

      @@tay13666 i see the chains as older DPA/TW tying their instruments down so the demon cannot take them and destroy them again like it did with young Pau's drums (thrown all around), Ale's bass (smashed), and Dany's lyrics book (burned)... the two phrases on the wall, "SHUTUP" (cut in with a knife) and "U CAN'T" (in flames) say a lot about the demon's (and haters) POV, too...

    My take on the ending: only the instruments are real. So, I see the instruments are their superpower or their shields/weapons against people with god complexes/haters or against their own self doubts. The instruments are the real deal, the foundation. They keep The Warning grounded, hence the chains on the instruments.

    I think it's important to note that their tormentors are still around, just that currently they have taken a different tact: questioning the direction they are going with their music and saying their label is pushing them in the wrong way. They have complete control of what music they are making and who produces their songs. They did not negotiate away that in their contract. The reason their music is changing is it's evolving. They don't want their music to be stuck in a rut, mired in their past. That's a good thing because it will keep their sound fresh and exciting as we will not know what to expect when they have a new album. It is THEIR music that they SHARE with us.

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA  День назад +2

      A victory over such tormentors is won in the mind. If they are truly defeated it doesn't matter what form or tact they take. That's why I really like how peacefully Dany sings in this one. It sounds like they've truly won!
      I did watch a Q&A, I think it was, where The Warning talked about the contract. I don't know all the details, of course, but retaining full creative freedom and full control over their Patreon is a great deal! It's the smartest thing to do for the label, too. If you have a golden goose it's best to let it do its thing.
      As for their music changing, that makes a lot of sense on many levels. They grow up, their circumstances change, their interests change, they are experimenting with and learning new things. Evolving, as you said. It doesn't matter what we, the fans, think about that. They should do what they think is right. It's the best way to make art, as far as I'm concerned. That said, I am very much delighted by their new music and I'm excited for their future works!

    I definitely get the feeling that this is about moving on, leaving the past behind, and also leaving (ignoring?) everyone who wants to hold them back.
    This operates on multiple levels. As children they chose to be performers and subjected themselves to the scrutiny of living a public life. They had fans, and also critics and detractors. In public every aspect of your life thing gets criticized and judged by people who don't even know you. It adds to the normal stress of growing up, and many child celebrities break under it.
    Later, when beginning to be successful, there is the weight of expectations. The criticism and scrutiny never stops, but now even your fans are joining in. The band is expected to be just as they were on their last song, last album, last year, and so on. Every attempt at growth and change is met with more criticism and judgement.
    I think that The Warning may be telling us all to expect more change, that they cannot be who they once were because that would be death. Life brings new experiences, new challenges, and change.
    EDIT:
    On closer look, the instruments the adult sisters are playing have chains attached. So do the instruments in the mirror. This fits in if the idea is "do not chain us to our past".

    • @bsdsuPASTA
      @bsdsuPASTA  6 дней назад +2

      That's more or less where I was at, except I thought they were telling a story about a general concept rather than communicating personal experiences. Until the last shot where they don't have reflections in the mirror. Why is that in the video? That's what really tripped me up 😄

    • @steveboguslawski114
      @steveboguslawski114 6 дней назад +3

      @@bsdsuPASTA Perhaps that means they have already moved on. The reflection is a representation of the past. We have memories of who we think they were (as they do too, from their own perspective), but that is not who they are now. Their younger selves actually lived those experiences, and they have given us a glimpse of some of that, in horror movie form. It isn't necessarily that everything was terrible, but portions of it were horrible to experience as a child. Their own doubts and fears were undoubtedly stoked and amplified by those experiences and had to be overcome. They had their own personal monsters to slay.

      @@steveboguslawski114 oh yes, fame at young age, as good as it may sound, must've been very difficult to go through. There are so many examples of people who have crumbled under that pressure. The Warning seem to have come out on top of those hurdles, at least based on what I've seen in interviews their mindset about everything seems very healthy 🤞
      The reflection being a representation of the past is an interesting thought. Then the mirror would show the chained instruments to suggest the chains from the past but no performers, because they have moved on, as your initial comment suggests.
      There are a few other similar but somewhat different interpretations in other comments and I love that all of them can make sense (including the very very different fictional ones my mind initially conjured).

    As I read through the comments I see many interpretations. This is a good thing. Art is supposed to stimulate and interpretations aren't forced on the audience when the art is good.
    The artists (DPA) clearly have something they are expressing, but, honestly, it is secondary to your own interpretation since that will be a reflection of your thoughts; your feelings; your experiences; your values; your dreams... a reflection of _YOU._
    It is the artist's role to incite and enable that reflection.

    The Young Warning with the clothes they wore during their amazing cover of Ozzy Osborne on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Even as kids they were ‘haunted’ by doubters, critics, and haters. But they survived, persevered, and fought back by rocking harder…..Now grown ups their music is everywhere. One of those ‘critics’ who put them down as kids, now feels ‘stalked’ by them as he looks out the window. He puts a VHS tape of Six Feet Deep in the machine, and without realizing it…he lets The Warning in the house! The song is about him! What he did to them. The Warning now haunts him. The trappings of the childhood they left behind him thrown back at him. The tape of Six Feet Deep the final blow to send him Six Feet Deep. The mirror show The Warning were never there. Just the music which is now heard everywhere. The Warning have buried the fears, doubts and resentments from their childhood and move forward.
    Nothing paranormal here. Using paranormal ‘things’ to tell an incredible coming of age story. And the music is incredible too. It’s just like The Warning to turn negativity into a positive incredible and inspiring song.

      Thanks for sharing that, I now can't help but giggle at some of the lyrics if I read them as per your interpretation. Though honestly, I'm glad I went so off course compared to what everyone else is saying, now I can view the song in many different ways and that's my favorite.
      As you said, the music is incredible too. I said it a bunch in the video, but it can't be said enough. They've managed to make a song that doesn't sound like any of their other songs (that I can think of) and yet is very much The Warning song. Again. ❤🤘⚡

      @@bsdsuPASTAI think the ‘critic’ in the video is a representation of the doubters, critics, and haters they have encountered in their career. Their parents are wonderful and have supported them all the way. The chains are still a mystery. One interpretation I’ve played with is that the chains represent their parents! Who have kept them grounded, calming and restraining them from lashing out, helping them endure and mature. If that is the case, the chains are slack and not pulled taut. Then the parents have done a wonderful job and The Warning have matured right….I would like to think that based on the lyrics that the critic’ have become aware of what they have done and regret and guilt are now the ghosts that haunt them.

    I would caution you to be careful about directly connecting the meaning of the lyrics to the meaning of the video, as they often are not connected. Take for example the Disciple video, the meaning of the song is kind of opposite to what is shown in the video.
    As per the pre-save page they had with the songs of the new album, Six Feet Deep is a song about dealing with other people's god complexes.
    I could be wrong, but I think that the Fed in FEI is from the album title Keep Me FED.
    To me the entity represent the nay-sayers, the critics that told them that girls can't play rock, guitar, bass or drums, and that they should give up.
    The younger version of themselves are dressed like they were on the Ellen Show in 2015 and the small red bass is the same model that Ale was playing in the early days.
    You can also see a guitar and drum from the Rock Band video game, which is a call back to their beginnings.
    The address of the house is 0628, which is the launch date of the album.
    The current band have their instruments chained to the floor, as to not have it taken or broken again by the entity.

      Ah, I avoided everything related to the unreleased songs like the plague so I won't spoil myself (the Six Feet Deep teaser on Instagram got me good though). That's why I didn't have the context from the pre-save page (I did pre-save though!)
      That interpretation makes a lot of sense! A few other people have also pointed out and I combed through the lyrics again from a different "vantage point" (so to speak) and, while a few things still make me scratch my head, it makes a lot of sense. I'm still happy that I went off the map in the video, it really shows how far you can go with works of art if you look at them from a different angle.
      Also thanks for the lore, it seems a lot of thought went into the official video (more than I thought!).
      I should check the Disciple video again, but I think that one makes sense? The song itself is sang by a disciple (Pau) and the leader of the disciples (Dany), so the video does show what is happening in the lyrics. It's just, the song warns you to avoid something by showing you that thing, rather than straight up saying "yo don't do this".
      Songs like Disciple make it easier for me to look at other TW songs from an "it's a fictional story about some concept" like I did in the video, rather than see the young warnings and assume it's an artistic representation of something they went through as kids. Although, granted, I am left with the impression that their parents did a fantastic job raising them and when I saw a house with a picture of young DPA I thought it must be a childhood home, so my brain went "must be fictional because the parents did a good job".

    *Six Feet Deep*
    a Hard Rock "Power of Three" demon expulsion video with an eye opening ending...
    this track is one _HELL_ of a powerful spell being cast to attract, expose, and expel those ancient hidden demons they have been fighting on their journey...
    the stuff all flying to, sticking to, and covering the demon, i look at as they had to completely enclose the demon to fully expose, define, and confine it for the expulsion spell to work... no part could be left uncovered or the demon would be able to return... so their spell wrapped the demon with everything like a containment field until it was tossed back into the pit... once there, the items could be returned since they were no longer needed to serve that purpose...
    i say "Power of Three" as a reference to the _"Charmed"_ TV show... also, have you seen the movie _"The Sixth Sense"_ ? if not, i highly recommended it! that story line fits in with what is happening in this OMV, too 😜
