- St Cuthberts is a church located between the city centre of edinburgh and hay market. The church consists of 10 bells (all made by John Taylor and Co). Here is the weight and note of each bell...
1) 4-1-14 cwt - G#
2) 4-2-25 cwt - F#
3) 5-0-10 cwt - E
4) 5-2-6 cwt - D#
5) 6-1-8 cwt - C#
6) 7-1-0 cwt - B
7) 9-1-16 cwt - A
8) 10-2-26 cwt - G#
9) 14-2-0 cwt - F#
10) 21-0-0 cwt - E
I like a peal of 10 in the note E. Sounds much better than most other churches with 10 bells on notes of Db etc in my opinion.
Enjoy!

Lowkey looks pretty fun
Thanks for coming to join us James. You did so well ringing the tenor - difficult to strike due to a short flight at the end of the clapper!
Please come back and see us soon 👍
Don't worry about the ringing down, your learning and you will do it.

Thanks!

@@user-ge8rx4jl6f wow nice! As far as I'm aware that's all correct
I don't think your ringing down was a failure. You made a really good job of it essentially! That last bit where the the bell is about half way down is where things can change quickly! (half way up for that matter too) What tends to happen is with both ringing up and down in peal is that it ebbs and flows, (the rate at which the band is ether raising or lowering) with a bit of practice you can begin to anticipate when the ebbs and flows are about to happen and you'll then be able to compensate earlier. So I say well done! Thank you for showing is the ringing here, nice bells!
Well done James, you were so good at ringing the tenor and when you rang Plain Hunt on 7. Hope to see you again when you next come to Edinburgh.
