I`ve just bought an okuma ceymar 4000 and the line lay is heavier at the bottom so the only way to lower the spool is to take off the thick black washer on the spindle and replace with the two thinner washers supplied, would this be ok.
Hi Johnx961 , Sorry but this is a new one for me. Where do you reside? If in the USA a simple call to Okuma would give the answer you seek. Up till now i've never heard of this issue, but maybe Okuma has & can recommend an easy fix.
I lay braid down the same way i do for nylon lines. I treat both braid & clear lines the same way, no problems though when braid does start "bunching" up it does take a little longer to notice it as it's more subtle.

But since i don't have an uneven lined spool as i have a spooler i had to figure out another way of relaying the information. The simple drawing was the only way i could do this as a visual presentation as i've never done a uneven line lay before. Another perk to having a a/c operated line spooler.
Aloha bdcfu, That would be an easy fix. Happen to me many years ago w/an older Regalis. Sometimes at the factory one too many washers are added. So when you spool the line on manually this is the result. Simply remove one or more excess spacers/washers & retry it again.
Good topic for a video but the video could have been much more precise and cut down in time. The video could be much better if it was planned out and thawed out there's too much backtracking and rethoughts
Trying to answer multiple questions from 2 foreign anglers who aren't even following me but keep sending me questions. Should've done 2 separate vids instead. I know what you're saying & you're quite right but decided to stick with this. Lost a lot of weight w/my tan as i was deathly ill for a long time. Still recovering but needed to finish this project to help these 2 young guys out. I knew someone intuitive would've noticed:)
@@kylehowell4054 I'm getting better, thank you. Pretty much back to normal. But my Honda SUV mimicked the dinosaurs & went extinct on me. Timing wasn't good. My friend offered me his extra car that he no longer uses, a Toyota Corolla & when i was able to see him he changed his mind.

What is best line lay for Braid?

@@ScubaChrisThank you for replying. I think a even line lay seems best for braid. Not tapered at the top or bottom. ☺️
@@Sweetaccord Correct. I notice this is an issue for cheap reels. When i try reels that are foreign to the US market that also seems to be an issue.

It is not always shims cause the problem but the line diameter. I notice this when I change from mono to braid.
Once i got a line spooler all the issues & problems disappeared. It's really worth the investment.
