@Christopher LeMasters - the NHL licensed table costs more because ICE (the company that makes the tables) has to pay the NHL for the use of the league and team logos and names, and they pass that on to the buyer. The NHL logo ice surface costs more because of licensing, and because they have to custom print it as opposed to putting in a default stock one. I decided that if I was going to spend $2900 for a super chexx, I’d spend $3500 and get the teams and look I wanted, but the stock red vs blue one plays just the same.

It has the led lights already added, and has a new technology to print the mountain backdrop into the dome, as well as custom painted players in the reverse retro jerseys, and a custom NHL licensed ice surface that has skate marks. Of those I think the etch printed dome is why it costs more. The base NHL game that is a full $1000 cheaper has the standard ice, and no led lights. It’d be $3700 with both options added, so you’re really talking $500 more (and getting the ice and led upgrades) for the etched dome, and the specialty players and white base.

It’s $500 more and comes with the dome etched with mountains and the limited edition white base in addition to the tricked out standard NHL edition. The NHL branding is expensive and cosmetic upgrades are in fact expensive. :)
Last time I played this bubble hockey game was at the Staples Center about 14 years ago during a Kings game. Played the game throughout the whole hockey game until management shut it down late in the 3rd period. Playing the game was better than if I watched the game. Played all the time in the 80's, and loved it.
I'd actually buy one of these Chexx machines as I know they're so well made, but I HATE the fact that the "ice" surface is square. Not even remotely rectangular. That reason alone is why I won't, even though I seriously considered one a couple of years ago. Still, great games.

I used to kick my older brother's ass in this! He was like 22 and I was 10, lol. I'd set up one wing with the stick along the wall, and put the center's stick angled in front of the net and whip the puck behind the net with the other winger, the puck would go all the way around right into the center's stick in front of the goal, goal! Lol. Sorry Brother, maybe thats why he never talks to me anymore as an adult? Lol. These guys look like sharks, I'd never play them! But I do want one of these for home.
