Little storytime: When I was in maybe first or second grade, I had just learned that the internet was a thing that I could find anything on. Naturally, as the good child I was, my instinct was not to be mischievous and look at things I shouldn't. I had only just learned free will was a thing; I didn't know it existed on the internet! So I decided, in my peak Harry Potter phase, to find some pictures of the characters. I used to make slideshows of pictures of them and put the pictures into chronological order. I know, I was a nerd. I made slideshows of the girls (I think I had a Ginny slideshow at the time and wanted a Lily one. A Hermione one would come later because, unlike most little girls, I never really cared for her) because I liked them the best. I was ultra-feministic as a little kid and I hated the boys simply because they were boys, so I only made girl slideshows. To do so, I wanted some pictures of Lily, but I knew the only pictures there were of her in the movies were Snape's memories. I figured the best way to find that was to look up "Lily Snape memories" on my little tablet. And the reason I'm here to tell this story to a bunch of internet strangers is because I found this video. I was maybe six or seven when I found it, so it's nostalgic for me now. I got curious one day to find it and see if it was just how I remembered. And it is. Maybe it's the song, maybe it's the story, maybe it's the editing, or the time I found it. I have no idea. But there's something so undeniably sentimental about this video that I just can't describe. I don't know how it makes me feel. Happy that it happened? Sad it's over? Uncomfortable that I loved something I found with a Google search as a seven-year-old so much? Thrilled that it is exactly as I remember? I'm not sure. And I'm not sure I care. So thank you, CosplayingGalaga. Thank you for something that meant so much to me for such a long time. Isn't nostalgia wonderful? It brings us back to something we loved.
