At 66 years old, I can honestly say that I am fortunate to have lived during the entire Mark Knopfler era. From the jumping, bouncing exciting man on stage to the calm reserve attained by any great artist over their years of performing, the minute the first note plays, you know it is Mr Knopfler. He is one of the top 3 ever! Thank you Sir!

I nearly died in car crash 4 months ago. Spent months in the hospital. Had to determine my last rites. Specified Mark Knopfler tunes to be played during any ceremony. Tunes included Going Home and many more. Mark Knopfler has been an inspiration in playing guitar and also creating my own songs. He is an angel to me!!!

I think he's the best he's ever been. Saw him in 2019 at Wolftrap, DC - and he had me from the opening note until the very last one. Every song was captivating and new, even the old ones! : ) Dire Straits were fantastic, but now he's more in a class with DaVinci, Shakespeare, Beethoven. The most amazing artist ever (God excluded, of course!)

How lucky these people are in the concert. This is one of the few concerts where they have played at same speed and sound as the original records. The musicians are just amazing and the quality of sound is just incredible!! He played my home town of Leeds, UK on that tour. Same setlist and the first time i've ever seen him live. Totally agree with you about how the songs were played. It was an incredible gig, magical.

I am 70 years old, in 1976 I was playing with my band in the city of Livorno (the Tuscan native city of the painter Amedeo Modigliani) and many friends and fans told me about a certain Mark Knopfler who played the Fender Stratocaster in exactly the same style as me. , "fingerpicking".
I was intrigued, so after inquiring I purchased Bob Dylan's famous album "Slow Train Coming" in which Mark appeared as the first lead guitarist.
Obviously I was thrilled and from that day I have always followed our dear Mark in all his performances.

My one criticism - you have to be there. Heard him in the worst stadium, concrete, facing walls, the whole audio hell of a place and they sounded like soft butter. Every note from every instrument in perfect balance, like a studio album. That’s when you know just how brilliant they are. Nowhere to hide, everyone in perfect harmony. What a band.
Flew out of City airport to Milan for three days and to go to this concert, which was on my 68th birthday. What a very special night. I have every piece of music he has performed, there is no other artist like him, never will be. Absolute legend.

Mark has a mystic way of creating and blending sounds and hitting notes that go direct to our emotions. He paints pictures with his music and his guitar sings more powerfully than vocalists could hope to achieve. Yet his lyrics are pure poetry that creates moods and imagery evoking our past, and a hope for our future. He is more than a highly talented guitarist, he's a highly excelled artist we're lucky to have experienced.

Always hurtful when your heroes get old. Love his music. My first concert was in Brussels in 1983 , I think, and I was mesmerised by Sultans of Swing. Like so many others here, I believe Knofler is one of the greatest and brightest guitarists ever.

He and his music have aged well. But yes, I agree that I get sentimental when listening to many of his beautifully written pieces and realize how time waits for no one.

The purity of his guitarwork makes me cry. I've been smitten with this man and his work for 48 years (my lifetime). A meister of his art and a legend amongst legends. A true legend from Dire Straits to his solo career, music so timeless and wonderful it just never stops leaving me in awe. And the evolution of him as a musician is great, has matured like a good wine. His live performances are superb, so different and so unique from On the Night through A Night in London to this, yet the same soul throughout them all. I love On the Night and grew up with it so always will be very special but he just keeps refining a real virtuous and a legend Thank You so much for the music Mark Knopfler
I wrote my first book ‘Mafia Dollars’ by Andy James .. on a family holiday in the Alps listening to ´On the night’ .. such wonderful music .. and now Mark is still churning out these gorgeous music inspirations … a long way from when we used to listen to him and his brother etc playing in the pubs around Deptford !

As a felllow Geordie, I just love that he opened a concert in Milan, with "Why Aye Man!". :o) Taking the language and spirit of the Novocastrians far and wide! For those who do not know what "Why Aye Man!" means - it means "Of course!" in the Geordie (Newcastle - North East England) dialect (where Knopfler grew up). I love that, unlike Sting, Bryan Ferry and Jimmy Nail, Mark is a Geordie who still loves his homeland and is still proud of his heritage. GO ON BONNY LAD, GAN N' DEE IT! :o) PS. 1:12 - Mark is playing "Blaydon Races" on guitar - the national anthem of Newcastle!

The dictionary has run out of superlatives that describe Mark Knopflers talent, the man and musician. This videoed concert has music as good as any band of musicians, of any genre has ever produced. Thank you Farco for giving us so much pleasure by uploading this.
Mark Knopfler is one slick musician. Still got it. His story telling via his songs is inspirational stuff. He has seen it all make no error. And he is as close to sea salt a-la-naturale as ever - he hasn't lived a privileged life one iota. Mark Knopfler is a genuine blue collar coalface gentleman. Saw Dire Straits at Christchurch Lancaster Park here in New Zealand on Friday March 7, 1986. I was 23 and bullet-proof until the next morning...Part of the Brothers In Arm World Tour. 248 shows and the show in Christchurch was nearing the end and although the crew would have been getting tired they never played like it. Fantastic gig. Keep up your excellent high standards Mark Knopfler it is an utter pleasure listening and watching this. I saw Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday August 6th 1988 when I was on my O.E. [overseas experience] from New Zealand. Excellent gig. What a wonderful concert his voice has aged like fine wine, I have every one of his solo albums and they are all beautiful, he is such a great storyteller with words and with his guitar ❤
that an incredibly brilliant, gracious man who remains one of the greatest guitarists of all time. a joy to watch him. as someone now 77, who's been listening to his music for 40 years & who also used to hitch hike, i think the world of this guy, & hope to meet him someday. no nukes!!!
