Come on, I've concocted a little Dire Straits live Nimes from 1992 that I cropped in "almost" 16:9 !
Well obviously I had to sacrifice a little space on the 4 sides and suddenly some close-ups are really close but overall it's great!
All the songs and images used in the video belong to their respective owners and I or this channel does not claim any right over them.

Cómo hace treinta y dos años no me aburre escuchar a Dire Straits, un grupo que hizo historia, fantástico.
I heard Sultans of Swing for the first time at 36 years old... and it instantly became my favorite song of all time. I dunno how it took me 36 years to discover this band. I've heard their songs before, like Money For Nothing, but never knew who it was and never took a big interest... but now I can't stop listening to them. Just an absolutely amazing band and Mark is an absolute beast on the guitar.
Check out the Alchemy Live version of Sultans of Swing from 1983. Greatest live performance ever in my opinion.

Very humble genius, MK is. He is clearly the leader up on the stage, but he definitely gives the other musicians their due, and it is never all about him. He seems to enjoy the whole package - the fun and enjoyment of sharing great music, enjoying the fans, taking and giving cues to his friends/bandmates, etc. He is so true to his music and versatility in his style, you always know you are going to be treated to a really great musical experience. I love his playful little smiles when he makes eye contact with the guys, and the crowd. Pure musical nirvana.

great Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits, this concert is wonderful, his connection with the music and the audience is on another level. A luxury to listen to them, their successes are perpetuated over time due to the quality of their music and great dedication, thank you for sharing.

If this concert was a one-off it would be spectacular: DS at their spell-binding best. But they were putting in gigs in one location after another, worldwide, each one demonstrating an unsurpassable level of musicianship.

Mark Knopfler, a driven, dedicated perfectionist, Dire Straits never let their audience down during the years of live shows with anything less than their best... unlike most other bands!

Everything comes out terrific in Nimes amphitheater ! The best place for concerts, especially for Mark Knopfler , he did it with his own band, many years later ! He's the best guitarist of that generation !!

This was during La Feria des Vendages in the incredible Les Arenes. I arrived in Nîmes for my Erasmus year a day or two before they played. We hung out in a nearby bar to try and hear what we could.

For some reason I get absolute chills everytime I see Mark play Wild Theme, especially on the On Every Street Tour. I don't know why, it might be because it closed off one of their final concerts as a band, or it might just be amazingly written. Honestly, I think it's a mix of both

Mîince!!! Quelle expérience! Moi je l'ai vu "juste" à la télé et en VHS ( jusqu'à la fin de ses possibilités 😅). Ils étaient tous dans une forme incroyable et avec un répertoire magnifique.

Ce concert est pour moi le meilleur concert de l'histoire musicale. Mark Knopfler est à son apogée.
À l'époque, en 92, j'ai vu le concert en direct sur Canal+. Je l'avais enregistré sur cassette V.H.S. (bande magnétique). J'ai dû l'écouter et le regarder des dizaines de fois dans les années 1990, peut-être des centaines de fois. La meilleure musique. Les meilleures interprétations. Télégraph road est exceptionnelle. Télégraph road, interprétée ce soir-là, est la meilleure musique de l'histoire humaine.

Concert mémorable . J'en ai encore la chair de poule, d'une part par leur interprétation, d'autre par parce que nous sommes tombés sur le jour où le concert s'est déroulé en grande partie sous la pluie !!! = beaucoup se sont réfugiées sous les tribunes et nous avons terminé gelé mais le cœur chaud

Amo a Knopfler y todos los días toco algo sobre sus temas. El que entiende algo de música sabe que en este show la versión de Sultans of Swing no es la más feliz que haya hecho la banda. Especialmente el baterista, toca todo el tiempo al palo, sin matices y bastante desprolijo. Hay shows épicos de Dire Straits o de Knopfler solista. Este no fue una de las mejores noches.
Hay algunas joyas en este concierto. Cada noche fue un poco diferente pero bien practicada. A veces se siente el cansancio en esta gira final de Knopfler “Dire Straits”. La mejor versión de SOS seguirá siendo para mí la de Alchemy y ninguna la supera. Esta es sólo mi opinión, aunque hay otras versiones maravillosas (y otras menos convincentes). La alquimia es el santo grial de SOS para mí.
