      You should have achieved this without Photoshop. The flash and the 2nd curtain flash sync function are used for this purpose.

    I've been loving your videos and this one is no exception! Very well done. I'd like to make a suggestion. I'd love to see you make a video showing how you build up the lighting on a product from start to finish. Then a second video showing a detailed live post-production session of the product from the first video. Lots of work I realize, but I think with certain products it would be great to follow along as you import into PS and then watch layer by layer. Something to consider....please keep up the great work, it is much appreciated!

    Another awesome video! :) Thanks! In terms of tethering, I think the side tethering works well with products that are tall (like bottles). You shoot a lot of tall products so I think it will work great in the future. When needing to show a wider shot like you did with the light painting backgrounds, full screen works :D

    Really starting to love product photography and got a ton of stuff from your video. I got a bit tripped up at your technique to maintain black point when importing. I’ll try to watch again on a bigger screen but any words as to “...selecting ...black “node” ...” (?) would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

    • @workphlo
      @workphlo  6 лет назад +1

      Hello! Thanks for your question, I can see why you got tripped up there. I shoot my images in RAW format, and when I import them into Photoshop I am presented with the Camera Raw interface. By holding Alt (pc) or Option (mac) and clicking the adjustment dial or "node" on the "Blacks" option, the program shows me which pixels are truly 100% dark. By dragging the node downward you can ensure a perimeter of crushed black so there is no dark grey bleeding through. Hope this helped!

    I came looking for something else, but glad I found you. You've got yourself a new subbie. However, I still must ask about what I am looking for. I am trying to figure out how to show metallic and duo chromatic eyeshadow palettes. I have tried several kinds of lighting and I cannot seem to get all the sparkles, colors and tonalities just as I see in person. Any tips would help, a tutorial even better!

    I've just subscribed to the channel. You've got great videos with a lot of useful tips. The audio levels are a bit low though. Can you turn it up a little?

      Thank you Shahrear. I think I have corrected this in our latest two episodes, should be crisp and loud! Thanks for subscribing.

    Dustin...great work. Love your channel. I'm trying to 'up my game' in Photoshop. I started an online course, but I'm not sure the instructor is getting it done for me. I won't mention the course, but do you have a recommendation for an online Photoshop course/tutorial? Thanks so much...keep up the good work.

    Hi i am great follower of your videos and i want to know how you are using the light stand for holding the plexiglass?

    • @workphlo
      @workphlo  6 лет назад

      Thanks for being a great follower! It is a piece of metal, with a nut welded to it. Search for a "wall plate" for a similar solution!

    What are you using to hold the plexiglass. Can you provide a link or just what it's called so I can search for it? Thanks.

    How would you do the same technique with an image that needs to be focus stacked?

    • @workphlo
      @workphlo  5 лет назад +1

      Simply make the focus stacked bottle, and with lighten mode do the same approach to the bg as I did in the video.

    How do you attach the plexi glass surface to the light stand?
