      Try shooting a Blantons or Eagle Rare.

      I use all sorts of stock photo websites. The main one I use is iStock, but I can’t remember exactly where this particular one came from. But yeah iStock is my favorite.

    I'm just getting into food / drink photography and have minimal gear. Only a single speedlight and a few modifiers. Your videos have taught me a ton, thank you so much. Biggest takeaway: a LOT can be accomplished with a single light with multiple shots and compositing.

    This is awesome! Can't wait to try these techniques. Thanks! So far I've done 2 bottle shoots on a black paper background. The tip I learned from the video I watched before doing them is that removing the back label prior to shooting solves several problems.

    • @connormoriarty3410
      @connormoriarty3410  3 года назад +1

      Glad you liked it! Yeah, removing the back label is a good trick to getting the glow to look better. The main reason I didn’t do that was selfish: this is a personal bottle of mine, and I didn’t want it out on my bar with half the label ripped off. But any other time I’d recommend doing that.

    I really like the idea of using the TV for you background, that came out really nice. I wonder if you could actually use the TV with an all white screen to re-create the flash and reflector product glow shot. Making your job easier. Thanks for the cool idea.

    Excellent technique, reminds me of rear projection with slide projector. A long exposure shot, shoot lights with black curtain, remove curtain and the remaining time of the exposure captures the rear projection time, without digital retouching, the times change excellent work, congratulations

      Oscar guerrero ortiz Yes totally! Very similar, just different tools. If I had that equipment I’d love to give that a try. This is what I love about photography.

    Thanks, Connor. I have recently got interested in product photography (for a project) and your videos have been inspirational. But then again, you like whisky and you have a Golden - two huge pluses. ps I live in the land of whisky (Scotland) and my current (beginner) shots feature Single Malts, especially Ardbeg. If you can get it over there, I recommend it.

    My wife and I just watched your video a couple of days ago. I told my wife that this shoot was one of the most creative, if not the most creative, I've ever witnessed. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
    I'm having trouble finding copyright free images that I can download. Can you advise me on how to find copyright free images that I can download? Also, did you cast the image to your TV screen or did you use an HDMI cable to project the image on your TV?

    Connor, love this idea have found one or two of the images you found for your own image but searching is not as easy as it looks. Could you please say what your exact search words were.
    Cheers Richie.

      Glad you liked the video! Yeah, searching can be tough. I spent probably an hour in total searching, going through hundreds of photos. I just keep searching till I find something. Here are some thing I searched: Speakeasy. Dark speakeasy. Bourbon barrels. Burning bourbon barrels. Speakeasy bar. Rustic cabin. Rustic living room. Cabin fireplace. Fancy bar. Bourbon bar. Whiskey bar. Cozy bar. Cozy cabin. Cozy living room.

    I hope this doesn't come across as an insult to a professional photographer... But could you please make a video of this but with a mobile phone? I love liquor photography but don't have the equipment now

    Hi Connor Good instruction. How did you make the white line behind the bottle? You didn’t show the shot. Thanks

      Hi Libby. Are you talking about the 2 white bars that I used to highlight the bottle? Those are just white rectangles in photoshop. Or were you talking about something else?
