does it ruin the roof paint and the door seal if you have it installed for a long time? I am trying to decide if this is better than just getting a trailer hitch and hitch basket.
We have seen issues with the paint or door seals with these being installed for extended periods of time. The rubber pads are designed to protect your paint and the hooks are rubber coated to prevent from damaging your door trim. www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH711420.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH710501.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH145046.html
I have a 2020 Honda CRV without roof rails (OEM discontinued them :/) and noticed these should fit my car. Is it safe to use a rooftop tent on these rails? Thanks!
You will need to check what your roof is capable of holding. You can find this in your owners manual or by calling the manufacturer of your vehicle. www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH711420.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH710501.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH145046.html
You can add the roof rails. I'll be doing it later on today. Pretty straight forward from videos I've seen. OEM is only rated at 160 lbs tho per Honda.
@@docfmf8404The naked roof solution positions cross bars further forward than the Thule's flush rail solution. Honda overlooked this when designing their flush rails, and Thule ought to have a better solution if they expect people to pay $800+ to install cross bars that don't support a large cargo carrier that doesn't interfere with the hatch.
Question: Is it possible to install this and keep in on year round IF there are factory installed airflow deflectors on the moonroof and doors?? Looks like this option provides a lot more space to utilize than the factory installed roof rack and bars (need to decided asap w/dealer on new car)
Yes you can leave this kit on year round. We have many people that will. The wind deflectors will not interfere. www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH711420.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH710501.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH145046.html
We have people that leave their clamp-on roof bars on year round because they use them all the time. As long as they are installed correctly we have not seen one fail. www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH711420.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH710501.html www.etrailer.com/Roof-Rack/Thule/TH145046.html

It's 47.5 in the front. Also there is a rubber strip underneath between the foot and endcap that he forgot to install. Otherwise, very helpful video!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will look into it.
