We spent 2 weeks in NL last year and about 4 days in Amsterdam. Your videos were, by far, the most helpful for a ground level view of how to be a tourist there. Thank you for all the good tips. Of course, I have to plug Rick Steves Amsterdam book also a great source for much detail. I'd agree the Van Gogh museum was the best for us, next Rijksmuseum, and wandering the city streets during the day and night were wonderful too. Canal boat rides too, we did two of them. Anne Frank Museum as a bit of a letdown - I've read the book as a student and re-read it again before our trip - the book is far, far more interesting than the museum. If you haven't read the book, I don't think the museum would mean much to visit. Red light district (I was with my wife and adult children), was just a visit it once and that's all we needed personally, not all that interesting. Great points to book the museums early - Anne Frank especially as it nearly sells out within minutes of tickets being released for sale (I got up at 2:00 am my time to get tickets!). Beautiful city, buildings/architecture, canals, and friendly locals we found everywhere. My only negatives were all the smoke in the air downtown (yes, I know the Dutch like to smoke, hah!, but it was a bit much everywhere there). We also spent several days in Utrecht and Groningen which were both very nice as well. Thanks for your videos, we found them spot in the advice!

I have a feeling maybe those videos are AI generated? they all use the same stock footage with a monotome voice.

First G in van Gogh needs to be a so called soft G instead

    • @msterdam

The soft G is used by people with the southern accent from the provinces Limburg and Noord Brabant. So when I say van Gogh its both the same G sound, a regular G as being spoken in the Dutch language. And when people from Limburg or Noord Brabant say Van Gogh, they'll both pronounce it with the soft G. But this is just because of their accent😆😀
