  • My friends have told me many times that flying through Dallas in the summer time subjects you to many delays. Not too often that I'm delayed due to no pilots, but it happened this day. Top that off with a dehydrated passenger (me) and a warm airplane and you have the ingredients for a bad flight. Enjoy?
There were two bright spots for me, can you guess what they were? Comment below!

Yes, some of the PC air units on the jet bridges are great for keeping the airplane cold but some are aging and not so good. Sometimes I’ll have pilots come down onto the ramp and ask me to disconnect it so they can fire up the APU instead to cool the plane down, but of course that comes with the added cost of extra jet fuel being burned which the airlines don’t want right now.

Great trip report. It's weird that the delay was because of the pilots

This was in the middle of pandemic times, so lots of sick call outs...

Back in July, I flew to Denver from Atlanta with a stopover in Dallas with American Airlines. Personally, I would say that the service was top-notch, and I would have loved to fly Delta. Anyway, nice video!

Totally agree. If you watched the flights to/from TPA in this series, they were top notch. This was the only bad one...I made sure I drank lots of water yesterday while flying to avoid a repeat of the HOT BOX.

Yeah. Always stay hydrated, especially in the desert, dry heat, and on American Airlines

Just flew my first first class and it was nothing I would have hoped at all. Absolutely no service at all (covid) but not even a ask. At least when I flew Delta on my way to destination I got a baggie with water and cookies. On AA on the way home nothing not even a sanitizing wipe. One attendant just got on and sat down the whole way. Why are they paying them at this time since they dont do anything?

I understand completely. I look back just a few months and first class was a treat. Now the only thing you can bet on is a bigger seat and more legroom.
