After removing the plastic, is running 1 blank shot through the portafilter good enough? Also do you do a manual pre infusion prior to pulling the shot ?
This machine will not warm up the portafilter so we need to perform a blank shots to keep it hot. Other machine will do it for us after few minutes. I prefer manual shot, meaning I have control of how long is the pre-infusion and amount of espresso (yield).
Removing the plastic will not impact your espresso if you properly warm up the portafilter. The accumulated stain overtime will make your espresso taste bad and bitter.
