    Thank you for the video. Can we get the same ratio and brew time by using this single filter and IMS double filter without dialing grinder?

    I have the single 12.5g basket and the 18g double and I have trouble getting a decent pour on the single. What doses were you using for singe and double extractions in the video?

    I have one double basket from Rancilio Silvia machine and one triple basket the Strada from La Marzocco and I can't use the same grind size. Is this normal between double and triple baskets or is this just because they are made by two different companies with different design ?

    Hi. I am new to coffee so I bought a non standard size porta filter 54mm from Breville. I struggled with single dose basket. Does IMS make one for us 54mm?

    I just ordered one of these for my Mini Vivaldi ii ... will be here Monday, actually. What yield would be a good "starting point" to shoot for using Black Pearl? Also, how long should my shot take? I never pull singles (for all the reasons you state in the video) hence, all the questions.

      Yes R58 use a E61 group. If you bought a R58 "I have the same" and you don't even know this very basic fact...

      I apologize for the delay! I'm unfortunately unable to confirm if any of the baskets or shower screens we sell are compatible with Breville machines, because we do not carry that particular make/model and have no way of testing it out.

      Oracle is a 58mm portafilter, it has an auto tamp though so I wouldn’t recommend a single basket.

    Looks good and makes sense. However, I have never found a need for a single shot.

      Basically the same here. But my wife barely can drink a shot. So every time i pull a single its a fight with a machine.

    It's one of the best upgrade I've done. I could never pull a correct Single on my (Rocket R58) until I get that IMS Singlebasket. Just by looking at the puck after you can already see how far better it is. I also recommend the IMS Nanotech 18-20-22g basket but at least you can still get a decent shot with the regular cheap basket, however the regular single is good for garbage right from the start.

      what kind of problems were you getting with your Rocket single basket?

    • @PanzerIV88
      @PanzerIV88 4 года назад

      @@k1fizz The stock basket are clearly just trash from China, even though the machine is a few thousands and made in Italy. The single basket that came with the rocket was only a 7g and I prefer 10g else it's not enough to me and brew ratio is "harder" to calculate. Also the material "electropolished?" on the IMS is much easier to clean even if not Nanotech, but mostly the way they shaped the inside, when u tamp it really tamp the puck better instead of tamping the slope rather than the puck. The hole distribution underneath is also better on the IMS so that when king a naked portafilter, it flows better and more evenly without dead spots. Also the puck when u finish, is less like mud but it think it's normal that since its not a perfect circle shape like a double basket, it will still easily break when removing the puck, no big deal though.
      If it wasn't about that IMS basket, I would have never used my single anymore, the difference is that huge.

      @@PanzerIV88 I've been trying to get decent results with a cheap single basket (those with an inner well). By filling the coffee to the inner well only and using a smaller tamper that fills there, the espresso extracts nicely. Plus the puck looks good also. However the well is quite small, depending on the roast level, it can fit 6-9 g of coffee only. I'm thinking on getting an IMS basket. It would take out much of the tinkering to force the coffee to the inner well and facilitate more consistent extractions I think.
