Who the hell thought it was okay to make the fairy godmother a black bald woman when she was a white blonde woman? Aside from that, this movie looks like a cursed dumpster fire.
I adored the Cinderella live action movie because it maintained hothead sweetness and kindness and humility that was at the heart of the story. The recreated the beautiful scenes and added depth and interest and even more whimsy. This looks NOTHING like Pinocchio. The clocks are menacing and creepy, the blue fairy isn’t ethereal and magical, she’s rather scary. I don’t care what race the actress was they got to play her, but if you’re casting a delicate, lovely fairy , you cast a delicate lovely woman of any race.
I just don't see the point of them remaking their original classics. And yet, maybe it's best. Given all the literature that can keep its originality in content vs. Disney appropriating itself and trying to make it seem like it was their own idea.

I adored the Cinderella live action movie because it maintained hothead sweetness and kindness and humility that was at the heart of the story.
The recreated the beautiful scenes and added depth and interest and even more whimsy.
This looks NOTHING like Pinocchio. The clocks are menacing and creepy, the blue fairy isn’t ethereal and magical, she’s rather scary. I don’t care what race the actress was they got to play her, but if you’re casting a delicate, lovely fairy , you cast a delicate lovely woman of any race.

I just don't see the point of them remaking their original classics. And yet, maybe it's best. Given all the literature that can keep its originality in content vs. Disney appropriating itself and trying to make it seem like it was their own idea.
