The fake is almost the exact same watch, for 1/4th the price.. sad thing is, some fakes have saphire crystal while the original has mineral. So technically the fake is better in that aspect

Old comment but a lot of times "homages" are better quality because the big name watch companies have realized they can cheap out on quality but charge the same because most folks buy for the name. I have a Homage Doxa and a Real Doxa. I wear the homage more because it keeps better time, looks exactly the same, and actually has a better more accurate seiko movement in it than the real 1500 buck Doxa. And the homage cost me 300
so i can buy the fake one, thank you!

sorry but I do not frown upon people buying fake fashion watches with low quality movements. for an extra 50$ retail they could perfectly replicate this watch, so why can 7 charge 10 times the price? I might get flack for this but it's just how I feel. even when Breitling uses eta or valjoux they only use the base parts and tune, decorate, and even replace parts of the movement with in house. these literally have the plain miyatoas.. now I'm not saying it's wrong to do that, but it's wrong to do that while calling yourself a Swiss brand. just because you have your office in Switzerland doesnt make your watches Swiss. Swiss watches is about craftsmanship and tradition and more than anything quality... I don't see a problem here, if anything it's exposing the hidden truths of horology. just like INVICTA selling the same watch except with a stock eta for double+ the price of the Japanese counterpart.
You make a very valid point, I do believe that brands especially SevenFriday mark their prices just a tad too high for what you get. I mean 316L stainless steel case is decent but for the price range of what? $1000-$2000, there are much more higher quality swiss watches using more premium materials and actual high-quality swiss movements.

The copy literally has the same movement and design why buy a real one?
it must be the "canal" version, since the canal version use blue tint AR or didn't even use any AR after all because it's way more cheaper, if you got V6F version, they use clear AR coating, the glass is perfectly fit and same as the gen. if you got woody and V series, the NFC works all the time. every SF watch is easily replicated because miyota is relatively cheap and you can find it almost everywhere. just for info you can get new miyota 82S7 movement just for about $100 - $150, imagine if they place bulk orders for that, you can get it way more cheaper.
EXACYLY! I can understand enthusiasts and collectors who shame on people who buy and wear replica Omega's and Rolex's but SevenFriday replicas are basically the same as the original, using same parts and the exact same Japanese movement.
But the fact that the genuine pieces are higher than 1000 USD it's hard to not just get the replica, effectively getting the same watch with a 99% spitting image to the original, including the movement.
Eddie Barley chinese replica watches are designed to look like the real thing they dont focus on build quality/craftmanship they may be as heavy as the real thing but they feel much cheaper my m-2-1 does have ar coating but mine has been sitting around for 2 years now and i dropped it a few times plus the glass is scratch resistant so there is still a way to spot a fake SF watch
Yeah I'm actually a hypocrite now, I recently bought a genuine SevenFriday P1B from Salera's Jewelers in Melbourne, my parents paid half and I paid half. There's really no point in getting a rep of this watch, it's less than 1500 AUD (1152 US) here and I looked at the reps and they are around 200-300 US dollars! Which is ridiculously expensive for a copy. Very happy with my new SF though, such a nice feeling watch for the price, even better feeling knowing its genuine.

lmao for the better part of a thousand dollars and a watch using the EXACT same movement I'll take the fake. Only thing you're paying for here is marketing and a brand name. Maybe if the authentic SF used an in-house movement it would be worth it but that's pretty lame to upcharge 10x with a sourced movement.
